I have a legal copy of Half life 2 with CD key etc......but every time I format windows I have to do a 3GB download to get HL2 back from Steam.....is there any way to download and put on a DVD so I don't have to keep doing this???

Is it possible to have a version of windows that makes a very small memory footprint and actually have it run on a PC....I.e I want to optimise my windows installation for games, so that I have as many free system resources as possible!
I just bought an A64 system so that BF2 will run better....I also bought 1GB of PC3200 RAM.....I have had a few memory problems with battlefield after patching....I know there is a problem with the patch so have reinstalled....to the point...

If you had 2 identical processors which differed only in FSB and multiplier as follows
11 x 218 = 2398MHz
10 x 240 = 2400MHz
incidentally HT speed is the same too....(may as well make the processors A64's)

The Inquirer is reporting that AMD will cut boxed processor prices on the 15th of October. The updated price list includes entries for the Athlon 64 4000+ and FX55, which will apparently debut at $729 and $827, respectively. Interestingly, the price list suggests that the 4000+ is a 2.4GHz chip...
I am going to do a clean install of my slipstreamed winxp pro + SP2... after this I want to ghost the image of the HD so that I can have a clean install next time I do it quite quickly.... Is there any way to stop windows installing drivers so that my ghost can be used easily on other...
I am going to slipstream SP2 and windowsXP pro but was wondering if it was possible to add other programs to the slipstream as well such as an antivirus and firewall?
Or is the easiest way just to install all separately and then ghost the drive to make a cleam install ghost??
