ya 12" will fit, it's almost the entire length of the case and you may hit the HDD bays if it's too thick though.
along the bottom of my window I run a 6" sound reactive blacklight, for the switch what TYPE of switch is it?
What DVD is it that you are having problems with?
see if DVD Shrinks inbuilt decrypter is able to bypass the encryption, as I've said before I prefer AnyDVD its decryption tends to be more up to date
Also what type of harddrive are you using? specifically what sort of cache and seek rate does it have?
It may not be able to pass information to the DVD Burner fast enough.
it's time to upgrade anyway, the vid card is the main bottleneck on my PC for modern games now.
As for why a corrupt AGP port would be worse, Ive only had the new PC for a month or two..the video card I've had for years..
it sinks the heart when a new piece of hardware dies
I always loved that...America has a "world series" baseball game and they're the only competitors ;)
At least with cricket and Australia we play games like "Australia v Rest of the world" (aka World XI team, collection of the best players around the world)
LOL, finally bothered to look up the A on the 12v, it's 16A :)
And the PSU is a smartblue (so it has a blue LED in it o0o0o0o0o!)
lol my PC is in my room..when I turn the TV off it makes no difference to the light level in the room because of the case and all its lights :P
Specs for PSU
Sweet, well I'm in Australia...the CPU is approx $210, the motherboard is another story... the one you mentioned is $300 (deluxe model)
Would a Gigabyte K8VT800 be ok ? (these are only $154)
She wants to upgrade the CPU though, and no arguing with her is not an option ...
The sempron sounds like a good idea..she already has 512 mb RAM (tho it's only PC2100)
Girlfriend is currently running a Pentium 4 2.66ghz however we need to replace her motherboard (another issue with the second IDE port not working) and I'm convincing her to move away from Intel to AMD.
Wondering what motherboard/CPU combos you can recommend in the AMD range?
I currently...
No RMA available, it's quite old (2 years) lol so I'm just going to go for a 6600GT or 6800 depending on how the finances look :)
Eventually bit the bullet and put my gf's 440MX in the PC ....works beautifully :) Could have been worse...I could have had a corrupt AGP port.
not able to get either 1 or 2 devices working on the chain, devices work on the primary ide chain
is there any software to test the functionality of on board ports? (grasping at straws but you never know)
I'm trying to install a CD Burner in my GF's PC and I'm not able to get the second IDE channel working :(
It's enabled in the BIOS and I can see no reason for it not working, the CD burner is on the IDE chain by itself and I have tried multiple IDE cables and multiple jumper configs on the...
Sorry, but I always put my slower drives on the one chain and the faster harddrives on the other.
Got corroborating evidence :)

I prefer format c: /s /q |y
That way it does a quick format, loads system files and does not prompt you to accept the format.
Lol bastard of a mate put that in one of my batch files back when I was running Windows 98 (I used to have a d.bat to list directories in DOS and he edited it when...
Main thing that I can think of is that Windows XP is very hardware specific with its installs.
ie you can't just go and change the motherboard and expect it to work, especially if the chipset has changed...
What type of motherboard did you replace the old one with? was it the same...
Well as the title says, I'm looking to find out if the 350w PSU I have is sufficient since I am upgrading my video card soon and it is recommended to have a minimum 300w
PSU:
Antec Smartpower SL350w PSU
Drives:
WD 120gb SATA
Pioneer DVR-108 DVD/RW
CPU:
AMD A64 3200+ (no OC)...
Click on your start button, go to run and type "diskmgmt.msc"
In re to your registry question, when you install the new drive and have it set to master, none of your old registry settings are carried across....
