AMD is announcing a revision change for its:
Desktop AMD Athlon(tm) 64 processors from revision D0 to E3 for model numbers 3500+, 3200+ and 3000+ in socket 939.

All things should be considered including:
Bios update support
Features
Space available to fit CPU coolers (ie. XP-120 and/or Zalman coolers)
Onboard audio quality
and (most importantly) Overclocking options/ability!
(other considerations may also be of interest)
I've got a Winchester 3200+ and I can run Prime95 small FFT stress test for 30+ hours without a single error. I go to run SuperPi 1M and I get a BSOD! What's wrong? I can do smaller SuperPis without a hitch, but 1M craps out. Also, I ran memtest on my current configuration for a few hours...
I'm trying to RMA repair something to newegg.com. Does anyone know how you can get them to cross ship? I read the FAQ and they said they can as long as you're willing to pay for the item in advance then they'll refund you when they get the stuff. But they don't say how to choose this option...
I'm trying to decide what would be better. I'm assuming it's probably game dependent as well. Any idea how big of a performance difference? Are there particular games that are MUCH better with 256 MB?
What's the cause? It just restarts, no notice like suddenly failing with errors. I've been monitoring the temperatures and I never exceed 35 degrees Celsius on the CPU! Any ideas on what's causing the random restart?
Take a look at...
Every time I run nTune, it crashes windows and gives a BSOD (while "tuning"). Then when the computer restarts it asks if I want to continue the previous "tuning session". If I say yes, then it'll probably crash again before finally finishing. Is this part of the process of finding the most...
I've been experimenting with my motherboard and whether I set the voltages in the bios or with ClockGen I can't seem to get ANY voltages between 1.45 and 1.6 V (exclusive). So my only voltage options that my motherboard can physically reach are 1.4, 1.45, 1.6, 1.65 (1.7? I haven't tested)...
I get temps of no higher than 30-35 degrees Celsius on my AMD 64 3200+ Winchester clocked at 2300 (230*10) at 1.6V. I can boot into Windows at 2500 but it's not stable. I'm wondering that since my temps are so low, should I try to up the voltage and clock higher for a stable o/c at 2500?
Can anyone tell me if there is a problem with this set up? I've got a Chaintech VNF4 with AMD 64 3200+ and 1 gig of ram. But I'm using a 10 year old PCI video card (Trident 1 MB). Any idea if/why this would not work?
Edit: 2 MB but you get the point... hehe
I want something that'll work in my new mobo Chaintech VNF4 (PCI-E and PCI only). So I'm looking for a cheap (~$50-70 or less) that will be around the speed of a Geforce 3 or so. Any suggestions? The cheaper the better, I rather go cheap than get a good performer!
As the topic suggests, I'd like to start a discussion on this particular mobo (PCI-E not AGP). It seems to me that people that are interested in a non-SLI PCI-E mobo should at least consider the other options available. I personally can not find a single review for this mobo which is very...
Since the discussions on the forum has led me to believe that the 3000+ (90 nm) seems to be the best overclocker (percentagewise) compared to the 3200+ (90 nm), I was curious if the 3500+ (90 nm)overclocks well or not at all compared to the other ones.
If you have a 3500+ (90 nm), please post...
