I know this sounds silly but - The only thing I can think of is that my nieghbors firewall - is making a distinction between XP pro and 2k users - That is the only thing that is different plus the xp firewall on my end - Have had no problems connecting to him before and my laptop sees the...
Dns seeting are set to automatically - Also I was able to ping the belkin server on my desktop...

There different - In both Belkin wireless utility - the one on my desktop is - client IP address - 192.168.0.6 - where my laptop is the same with 3 instead of 6 at the end...
Belkin also said that it maybe a fire wall issue still - because I tried to ping their website and it did not go...

So at least i thought I was making some progress...

I am using a belkin card that works fantastic under winn2k pro - I now have everything showing up in my network properties -

Here is the situation -...
To Ken Sr - the choice would be the P4 with HT - encoding will greatly benefit from HT technology - Intel says you can even do this and surf the internet, watch a movie and pick your nose - all at the same time - Hyperthreading is cool but not useful as it can be in the year/s to come -
boy I...
beatle - hit it right on the head Vern! - but yes the P4 is the better of two and this is where you're extra money went to.... That's right Hyperthreading baby - personally I can take it or leave it... You also paid for the intel commercials that had HT technology - that's the whole point of...
He was probably referring to PCI and AGP slot initialization - some cards actually have to sync up with the system bus and then get initialized or hit and then they display - boot time can be called into consideration - but A card should usually never take that long to initialize...
my 2...
I use OCZ EL PC3200 mem-sticks and I wouldn't press them to far - 2.7-2.8v is as far as you should go - and over clocking memory may not necessarily yield the dividends you are expecting - why chance it, for yeilds that you are only going see with regards to bench-marking - and none visibally...
With regards to Intel - I am not sure that there is a huge difference per se, maybe a slight difference if that - 3-5% at most, dual channel may be signifcant as memory starts to match fsb speeds - Basically when you have memory and CPU FSB speeds run Synchronously - that's when there will be...
No, probably not - 533FSB more bancwidth headroom to grow - sometimes 800FSB - the memory - is luck as with your other two components -
I have used the OCZ performance from newegg - with the same cas setting as you mentioned above -
and found it to be excellent with 533FSB mobos , again I...
I would go with an AMD chip myself XP 3000+ and 3200+ are great buys for the money -
My rig is a P4 -2.4B OC'd to 3.0ghz single channel and it's very fast....
As compared to a 2.4C OC'd to 3.0ghz - dual channel will get you a little bonus - yada, yada you can get a little bit better bench...
:D
Well, I am not sure that is true yet! Hyperthreading is a cool feature, But how the O/S and applications work together is not necessarily quite there per se...
The o/s supports it, but other than that, I am not sure - I have a P4 2.4B OC'd to 3.0ghz and it's very fast -
Anyway there was...
Hey guys, thanks for responding my 2.4c is @ 220 fsb - I've had the It7 v.2 for quite awhile now and just got around to throwing that 2.4c into it... super stable O/S but not sure about memory and PCI bus -
oh well - I might be selling my mobo on ebay or something - and get an asus mobo it...
I am using - 200 fsb - and my memory is = 2.5 - 7 -3- 3-
I am not sure about win2k and Overclockablity - Xp seems like the way to go....
Could be my PCI stuff though.... I have sound blaster live ...
thanks for looking
:D
Hi Jayle,
I would say that any Athlon XP 2800-3200+ wood be an excellent value - I have a P4 - 2.4C (with an intel chipset mobo), but I only got it for overclocking purposes.... ANd someday the real benefit of HPT technology... yeys rolling about now... yet I will probably move over to a via...
Right now I am running a 2.4c on a abit IT7MAX2 .v2 = 845PE chipset -
Has anyone else had good luck with the same or similar setup as Mine - need to know - asus, abit msi, fic - whatever...
let me know what kind of results you got... and the type of memory you are using.... the kingmax I have...

Well I was going to give the P4 2.4 ghz (533/800) a plug here.... ASUS or ABit make a great mobo... ALso depends on whether you want to o/c or not... but you seem to have alot of AMD people here and AMD is rocking the house as of late...
One thing I will say is that integrated periphals on a...

Hi, I know this may sound dumb but I don't know, so here goes -
Wondering if this 2000 version of UR tourney (that's what the year is on the back of the box reads), is able to display frame rates and/or does it have a demo mode benchmark of some sort that displays FPS's ...
Just basically...
