I've read this a few times on different threads in the last couple days. I'm currently using AS5 but I have no qualms about going out and buying some Ceramique if the capacitative nature of AS5 is truly dangerous. I'm of course overclocking my system, not sure if that makes any difference.
I'm at 1.8vcore atm and it shows loading at 50, but I had similar loading at low vcores. I also read an article that showed that the Abit boards tend to read high. I just in general don't trust the bios readings and I'd really like to know my actual temps. Anyone know a cheap way to get some...
been reading around a lot and have found that Mushkin doesn't perform well AT ALL for NF7-S boards (I can get to 215 FSB easily with my barton core 2500+ but my memory won't do more than 210) and so I'm going to get some new ram. The problem with the chips seems to be that they are bh5 and not...
Title pretty much says it all...I picked up some Mushkin but it won't do over 210 and anyone that has been able to do over that has had to tweek it way too much, too much break in and whatnot. So not Muskin, but I'm pretty open to anything else. It can be a little over $150 if it's a really...
So yeah, definitely not Mushkin lol. I'm sure it's probably just a one-time thing but I really don't want to take my chances.
I'm leaning towards Kingston because my old PC2700 was Kingston and it performed very well for ValueRAM but if someone has had a great experience with another...
Anyone have any suggestions? I'm at 1.55vcore atm and I'm sure my memory isn't hte problem as it's not even running at the minimum speed it's rated for. I've tried increasing the multplier also and am not having any luck...
I tried to run a 6/5 divider, 400 FSB on the CPU and 333 on 1gb Kingston ValueRam in dual channel configuration and no boot. But when I drop the divider and let the CPU and RAM run async at 370FSB it boots into windows no problem...
At 6/5 it will go through the loading screen, go to a black...
I've been having a lot of motherboard problems and as a result have had to reseat the HSF about 5 times now in the last 3 days. On the latest reseat I put too much AS5 on I'm sure of it and temps are too high, idling @40C but case temp is only 24C.
I just don't trust this damn thing and I was wondering what I could do or what would be some signs that's it bad. It seems a bit slow @ 3200 but I'm just not sure.
I was under the impresson that mobile barton's were supposed to be unlocked, but mine isn't. I've heard that it's as simple as a penciled bridge but I was wondering if anyone else had experience or knowledge in the matter. Thanks.
I googled it and there definitely isn't a vcore booster on the market, but I did read on a thread I turned up in my search that they would be relatively easy to build. So, anyone wanna build one for me? :)
Okay, so I've tried my best to do my homework. I gather from the posts here (and common sense) that expensive RAM is not the way to go with A64s. It's just not worth the gain in performance.
So here is my problem:
I plan to overclock this setup quite a bit but I also don't have a ton of...
After seeing a post here the other day (can't remember who it was by) about the difference between value ram and top of the line stuff I figured I'd play around with some valueRAM. I plan to overclock it as far as it can go, I'm running a GA-7N400 pro2 motherboard with a barton 2500 core...
I just ordered some patriot ram off newegg but until then I want to mess around with this old Kingston stuff I got, but I can't find the recommended timings (@ stock of course) anywhere. Anyone got a ballpark?
That seems a bit high to me but I just wanted to run it by you guys
This is what I'm running:
AS5 thermal compound w/ SilentBoostK8
3 80mm case fans 1 120mm in the front
Air flow could definitely be better but I still think that's too high. Could it possibly be a bad mounting? I've...

stock fan, no voltage increase, 230htt. I'm just wondering where the wall is for the processor as I didn't expect to get so high without a voltage increase. Anyone have experience or have an idea?
