If a company matches 6% of your income in a Roth 401k, is that match based on your pre-tax income or after-tax income?
For example, if you make 100k/yr is the match $6000 or is it based on your after-tax income of 60k which would mean the match is $3600?
I'm trying to find information about this but I can't seem to get any real answers.
I thought I remember reading somewhere that Microsoft was going to release a new firmware to allow people to output 1080p HD-DVD through VGA when the HD-DVD player was released?
So I might be taking a job in Charlotte within the next few months. I have only been to Charlotte once for work and I stayed in a hotel in Uptown but if I am moving there for work, I would prefer to be in a safer suburb just outside of Charlotte.
I've been looking at the South Charlotte...
According to the manual, it only takes about 3 hours to fully charge a Nano. I gave it three hours last night but I never got the fully charged screen so I decided to let it go overnight and it just keep charging and this morning it still has the Do not disconnect screen instead of the "fully...
So my friends and I all have the Citicard Plat Dividends card that gives 5% back for gas/grocery/drugstore and we don't know if getting gas at Sam's Club/Costco counts for the 5% back. I know Citicard says warehouse purchases only get you 1% back but is the gas seperate?
I just set up my Westinghouse 42" 1080p LCD and I don't know what I should be doing. I know the tv upconverts things to 1080p. Would it be better to have my HD Cable Box / Xbox 360 send a 720p or 1080i signal into the tv?
After making the drive from Michigan to North Carolina yesterday, I'm finally starting to unpack and figure out what I need to buy for my apartment.
God it's hot down here.
So I'm moving down to North Carolina next month and I'm trying to get ready for the super hot heat and high humidity. I'm driving a black car with black leather so I know it'll be damn hot during the summer days.
I was considering getting 35% tints on my car so the sun will burn me up inside...
I currently have State Farm and I just paid for my 6 month premium a month ago. I've decided I'll get better coverage and prices if I switch to All State. I know I need to start insurance with All State before I cancel my State Farm plan.
Do I need to go to my old State Farm agent for a...
So I'm moving down to North Carolina in July and it's going to be god awful hot for me. My car has black leather and I don't wanna suffer to heat as much and I don't want it to fade too quick on me either.
I was thinking about doing 35% black tints but was concerned how difficult was it to...
I'm moving down to NC from Michigan this summer and I'm considering leasing a new car here and driving it down with me or waiting until I get to NC and leasing there.
I understand that there is no sales tax for cars purchased and titled in NC because there is a 3% highway use tax instead. If...
After looking online, I'v decided to go the internet sales route. I want to contact a handful of local dealers this upcoming week and I'm not sure on how I should go about it?
Do people email the dealership with their offer for the car and wait for a yes/no response for the dealers or should...
It's time to seriously crunch some numbers and make my first real car purchase of my life. Right now I'm leaning on the Acura TSX w/Navi and was wondering if there is any other car that has similar bang for buck as the Acura that also comes with an available navigation that works well.
I'm looking at Crutchfield and I see that Pioneer and Eclipse both make in-dash units that fit my parent's Camry. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these aftermarket units compared to the typical OEM units?
Are the maps and directions quick to calculate and display? Any...

Well I live in a small studio basement apartment and the heating is controlled by management. I keep asking management to turn up the heat because I'm going to die from the cold but they don't seem to care. So I figure I might as well buy a space heater and keep my body warm. I'm looking to...

I was coming back from Toronto towards Michigan and I get caught for speeding about 20 minutes away from the bridge. I was clocked at going 130km/hr in a 100km/hr zone. I was going about 80mph.
The cop gives me a ticket and writes down 120km/hr in a 100km/hr zone and tells me the ticket fee...
My Sonicare won't charge and I don't know if it is the toothbrush that is broken or the charging bay. I know Sonicare has a two yr warranty but it would be easier for me to swing by Sam's Club if they will replace the product for me. Anyone know what Sam's Club's policy is on things like this...
I've heard it's not good to move your laptop around when it is in standby but some people say it is okay to do so with hibernate. Which one is better to use?
Hibernate seems to be really good to me so far b/c I can travel with it or walk to the library without having to restart up my laptop.
I'll be in Hong Kong for a couple days and was hoping for some suggestions with good hotels and decent prices. I want to be near the nightlife / shopping area. I would like the hotel to be at least 3 star though.

I had an argument with my addicted EQ2 roommate. He claims if EQ2 started charging 19.99 a month, he would quit EQ2. He claims most ppl in his guild would quit as well.
He's an addicted MMORPGer and has a lvl 50 EQ2 character.
Would you be so price sensitive to quit the game?
