Adding external storage to HP Proliant G7

The Proliant is a 2U HP server, I'd have to look and see if there are any open SAS channels to work with. The ESXI from VMware creates a datastore that can be used by all virtual servers. Something like this could work I guess, if the card can fit in a 2U rackmount...

Adding external storage to HP Proliant G7

So I've been wanting to add a new datastore to my HP Proliant G7 ESXI 4.1 machine. The store does not need to be fast by any means, so i picked up some cheap 3tb hitachi 7200 rpm sata3 drives. Now I need to figure out the best way to make these drives available to make a new ESXI datastore...

    Intel pc constant lockups

Well I finished my pc build this spring and the past 3 months I have barely been using it. I'll be doing anything on my computer, live tv, internet, music, sitting idle. And it just locks up, no BSOD or anything just freezes. Only way to get it out is hard reset. I've reinstalled Win7, with it...

    XFX = Epic Service Win

Ya I received the same treatment from XFX, neither my mobo or 5770s came with a crossfire bridge so I asked xfx support and had it 3 days later. no questions asked and for free. IMO, can't beat xfx support.

Intel stock cooler temps on i7 860

Is the stock intel cooler really that bad? I have an 860 running stock 2.8ghz 1.15v, temps at idle are 36c but when i load up 100% with intel burn test it rockets to 80c within a minute. CPU/cooler have been installed over a week. I have an old Thermaltake "Silent Tower" from an old lga775...

    Which intel would you recommend?

Except that SB is on 2011LGA or 1155LGA, so a new motherboard is necessary.

Worth it to buy Intel or wait?

Yeah thats my current dilemma. I can get a xeon x3440(i7 860) for 240 shipped from newegg, or I can wait a month and pick up a 860 for HOPEFULLY 200 when I'm on vacation which has a microcenter in town.

Worth it to buy Intel or wait?

    860 is $200, microcenter B&M. http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0317378

    Hows Life?

I work IT at my college too, and when I mentioned to the IT manager that we should setup folding he told me that a few years back an IT guy got fired by the state for using the comp labs at the capital building for folding!

Worth it to buy Intel or wait?

I thought I read somewhere that the 32nm refresh would be coming this summer, didn't know if it was soon or not.

Worth it to buy Intel or wait?

With the release of AMD's 6cores, is it safe to say that in the coming weeks, Intel will lower prices on cpu's such as the i7 860? As a side note, are 32nm quads coming?

Ok i figured out what the problems were. Apparently, installing in the default c:\programfiles(x86)\folding@home directory in win7 64-bit causes the smp and gpu2 to not ever connect. Copying the folding@home folders to the root of C drive fixed the problems. Now folding on 2 cores and a...

    Recommend me a PSU

Well here's the thing, I won't be finishing buying everything for at least another month. I found the power supply at Staples mispriced on clearance nationwide for 99.99-clearance = $36.50!!!! So i snagged 3 of them. More or less, I just need to know if I'm at risk for overloading the psu...

Its running but everytime it checks for work from the server, it says no work found. When i first built the computer, I oc'd to like 3ghz with my thermaltake cooler but i don't really have a reason to waste the power so I'm at stock now.
