Question about shuttle box with bad mobo.

Yeah, you're in a bit of a tough spot if you have a dead mobo in a Shuttle rig. You could try to replace it through ebay or Shuttle if it isn't too old; ebay is almost your only option if it's more than a couple years old. On the plus side, though, you can usually replace it with a few...

    WoW Guest pass?

Hi. I was just wondering if anyone had a WoW guest pass they would be willing to give up. My wife is at home with our new baby and would probably enjoy having a little something to do in between feedings, as they don't do much at this stage. ;) She enjoyed (and played the hell out of)...

looking for 2D fighters for PC

All Street Fighter titles, all Mortal Kombat titles, King of Fighters titles, Samurai Showdown titles, Time Killers is always fun for a few $#!t$ and giggles of dismembering your opponent... You're only limited by your imagination.

How do I tell my Highschool sweet heart GF that she is gotten too fat for me to stick around.

No, that is why your sex life will continue to become more and more boring.

It'll run it, no problem. I have seen 6800GTs run on stock 200W Shuttle PSUs.

    Xbox in SFF PC?

Depends on what you call SFF. It wouldn't work with a Shuttle, but a Monarch Hornet would work.

    P4 SFF recommendations?

Yep, writing this on an SB65G2 w/ 9800Pro 2.4C overclocked to 3.0, 1GB PC3500, 120GB 8meg cache 7200RPM hard drive, and NEC ND-3500A DL burner. Never given me any problems. If you wanted to save a few dollars, though, look at the SB61G2 - same performance, just no wireless.

Problems with a Shuttle SN85G4V2 build...

Yeah, if it's not heat, I would agree with Rage187.

    MicroATX Media PC/File Server

I'd go with an SN45G with a mobile 2500+. It fits the requirements and is smaller, plus you get the onboard nForce2 sound for digital output to your receiver - saves you a few dollars on a sound card.

Give me a PM in the next few days - I may have an SN45G or SK43G motherboard available, as well.

    Shuttle XPC motherboard only?

I have an SB61G2 motherboard I am getting rid of, if you would be interested. Go to the SFF Gear section of http://forums.sudhian.com to find it.

    BIOS boot logo removal

Try this A SB65G2 BIOS will actually work on your board, if you don't mind disabling the onboard video. If you're not willing to try it, you're going to have to do some work...

    BIOS boot logo removal

Go to http://forums.sudhian.com and search their Shuttle XPC and Legacy Barebones forum. I think I remember a few people wanting to do that and posting about it when they first came out.

Best video card for SFF HTPC?

Passive, not that I know of without modification. Ultra quiet, some swear by a 7 volt mod and some by the Iceberq 4 (I think that is it - close enough that a search will work). Your best bet for passive is Alex08's suggestion; your best bet for quiet is my two suggestions. My first suggestion...

Best video card for SFF HTPC?

The Zalman can handle the 9800 AIW. The thing is that it will not fit in an SN45G - you'd have to do some serious modification. Two questions: Do you NEED a 9800 in an HTPC? (Are you playing hard-core games on it?) Do you have a 9500/9600/9700/9800 you could try out first? Just to find out...

    SHUT UP SHUTTLE!!

There are a few things you can do to quiet it down, like replace the 80mm fan, cut out the mesh grill in front of both the 80mm and 40mm fans, etc. But I would bet that the loudest part at this point in time is the fan on your video card. Maybe a replacement for that?

    A shuttle sb75g2 or a SB65g2

You've nailed the pros and cons of each box - which is most important to you? Gigabit LAN or wireless (do you actually use either, or do you plan to in the near future)? Is faster or cheaper more important to you? The 250W PSU is nice, but not necessary, in my experience. Runs a bit cooler and...

Questions about building an entry level gaming SFF

    My stats: SB65G2 2.4C @ 3GHz (default voltage) 1gig Kingston HyperX PC3500 Maxtor 80gig 8meg IDE HDD Lite-On 48X CDRW/DVD Combo Drive Radeon 9800NP flashed to Pro Not a problem on the 200W PSU.

Questions about building an entry level gaming SFF

That's easy: SN45G Athlon XP 2500+ 512-1024MB PC2700 (or PC3200 if you want to overclock) 80-120GB HDD CDRW/DVD Combo Drive 9600 Pro (or better) video card Best budget recommendation right now. Will probably come in under your budget, especially if you are patient and do some bargain...

shuttle sk43g, what processor can they handle?

That'll work fine. The SK43G will handle processors up to 166FSB - no 200FSB for this one.

    How do shuttle SSFs overclock?

Sure. I have an SB61G2 running a 2.4C @ 3GHz, default voltage. That includes a 9800, 1 gig of PC3500, Combo drive, and Maxtor 80 gig 8 meg HDD. Temps are good, but I haven't played with the voltages.

can you suggest me a good SFF case?

The Shuttle chassis will not fit a micro-ATX board. Yes, the Antec Aria is very popular right now.

SN54G Shuttle XPC - WORST system I have ever owned

Yep, try out a new proc and you'll fall in love with the little guy all over again. :D Maybe pick up a used 1700+ JIUHB DLT3C in the forums for a little overclocking; I run one in my SN41G at 166FSB @ default voltage for a nice, cool-running, overclocked mini-powerhouse. No problems, ever.

Shuttle integrated lan issue, won't recognize.

It sounds like you have loaded the drivers, but check the Device Manager and make sure there are no problems. If there are not, ping the NIC from the computer (ping 127.0.0.1). Make sure you are getting link lights. If all of these things are working, you are probably having some kind of...

SN54G Shuttle XPC - WORST system I have ever owned

Yeah, a little known blip on the radar that it sometimes pays to mention, as sometimes we forget. ;) I'm thinking it would be a good possibility, though, because I would think that very few would use that particular proc in that system because it isn't a great overclocker and the unit was...

SN54G Shuttle XPC - WORST system I have ever owned

I don't know if this is possible or not, but it might be that particular processor. The SN41G2 did not like the 1.4GHz Athlon - it would run any of them except for that one for some reason. I had not heard of it happening with the SN45G, but it might be worthwhile to try a different proc in...

I think it might be RMA time, but try flashing the BIOS, first. If you can't do it in the bad machine, try a hot flash with the good machine.

Advice/check config on new SN45G based SFF

Another quick note: The 250W SilentX PSU is now coming with both the SN45G and the SN41G2V2. This will not fix the VDIMM issue, however. As for the voltage issue and particular brands of RAM, you should be OK. It should auto-detect the voltage and set it correctly. But I would shy away from...

Advice/check config on new SN45G based SFF

Just a word of warning - do not change the VDIMM settings. If you do it may render your SN45G useless. Take this very seriously. It is not a problem if you don't touch it but if you do, you have been warned... Yes, it is a little louder than some would like. You could replace the fan to...

    sff power supply

If you sell your case, shoot me a PM - I might be interested. By the way, I use a P4 2.4C @ 3GHz, 1GB PC3500, 80GB (8 meg cache) HDD, Radeon 9800NP (flashed to Pro) and a Combo Drive in an SB65G2 w/ a 250W PSU - and it was running fine on the 200W, as well. PM me - I may have something that...

    SFF: Help me Build One

Depends on how hardcore you are. If you aren't that hardcore and want to save a few bucks, you can go with a 9600XT. If you are hardcore, yes, the 9800 is much better. But if you were really smart and didn't mind used, you might go with a 9700 series... an even better price/performance...
