    Worth it corsair to seasonic?

Those three are now Channel Well PSH II designs...they changed again. Supposedly for the better.

Isolating USB devices in VMWare Player

It worked absolutely perfectly in virtualbox. If it had better support for Direct3D, I'd be gaming on it with my bro right now. :( So I'll have to shell out the $$ for Workstation to do this?

Isolating USB devices in VMWare Player

"Cheap" is a relative term. I don't have the money for another computer, much less one with a GPU powerful enough for this. Besides, it's a fun project. :)

Isolating USB devices in VMWare Player

So I'm trying to work two people in on one computer. The idea is to full screen a VM on a second monitor, and isolate a USB mouse and keyboard onto it. I can't seem to find the setting anywhere...am I missing it, or is this only on Workstation? This worked fine in VirtualBox, but I have to use...

Looking for an overclockable dual-socket 1366 motherboard.

$5000 is still only half the budget, and there'd only be one SSD, and no water cooling. The CPU's are ~$1000 each, though. The dude has more than enough for this.

    Apple A4 vs Atom

It may even depend on which P4 you're talking about. Prescott's architecture is different enough from Northwood's that they could have called it the Pentium 5.

Cost effective, nicely paired processsor for an ATI 5870?

It actually lets the GPU breathe a bit more, though not by much. Being able to CF is a good option though...

Looking for an overclockable dual-socket 1366 motherboard.

Haha, believe me, he is. So far we're looking at the aforementioned cpu's, some sort of quad GPU setup (probably dual 5970's), possible liquid cooling, a SSD AND a 2tb RAID1 array, G-skill Pi RAM, blu-ray burner...the works. That mobo even fits with the red/black color scheme he's after.

Cost effective, nicely paired processsor for an ATI 5870?

I don't think you'd need an i5/i7 to take advantage of a 5870. An OC'd Phenom II x4 BE (955/965) rig would be more cost effective and have most of the gaming performance of an i5/i7 setup. Plus, you could get the 790FX chipset, which poops on what Intel has.

Advice on overclocking a Xeon L5640?

So I'm helping someone put together a monster dual-socket rig using EVGA's Classified SR-2 motherboard. He plans to overclock it. My thought was to use the Xeon L5640, which is a 2.26GHz, 32nm hexacore model with a TDP of only 60 watts. It seems like the low TDP would allow for a pretty good...

Looking for an overclockable dual-socket 1366 motherboard.

That EVGA one is perfect! The gut has a LOT of money ($10k ) to work with, so it's well within budget. Thanks guys!

Looking for an overclockable dual-socket 1366 motherboard.

Yup, you read that right. I have to admit, I don't know a whole lot about server motherboards/chipsets and what they're capable of. I'm helping a dude build an epic video/3d animaiton/gaming rig that will be overclocked. The best CPU option I could think of was Xeon L5640's. Those are 2.26GHz...

Questions: What's so special about CULV?

I wish they'd start putting the nvidia-powered Atom 330 boards in more netbooks. Those things are awesome. 4 threads plus CUDA makes for a fairly powerful machine.

    nVidia launches anti intel website?

wtf? So they're anti-intel, which means the're against the largest CPU/Chipset manufacturer/designer in the industry. They obviously can't side with AMD, who is currently wiping the floor with them despite their efforts to eliminate ATI form Nvidia-based systems. Do they plan on bringing IBM...

How far will the 32 nm. Intel chips go gigahertz wise?

The i3 models can hit close to 5GHz on a good water setup, if I remember correctly. I'm assuming this is partially because they lack turbo boost...?

Need a Socket M mobo. Help?

I actually do have a budget rig put together...I went with AM3 so I could use current hardware....this would be much cheaper though and I'm on a college student's budget. :( I know for sure that ASUS makes/made a board that I could use, but I don't know the model name or where I could find it...

Need a Socket M mobo. Help?

Not true at all. I've actually gotten pretty close, but this one only has PCIe x1, and in a very inconvenient spot. http://www.logicsupply.com/products/i945gmt_fsa

Need a Socket M mobo. Help?

So I'm thinking of cannibalizing my Dell XPS M1210 to make a desktop. I have/can get all the parts that I need except for the PSU and mobo. I need one with: Socket M (Or a Socket 479 that can handle a 667MHz core 2 Duo) 2x DDR2 SO-DIMM (I can deal with buying regular RAM if need be...) 2x SATA...

    Some questions about Hybrid Crossfire

Hi all I'm planning on building a rig using a 785G motherboard along with a Radeon 3450. I'm planning to overclock both of them. (not the best solution, but the 3450 was free) The problem is, there's not a lot of documentation on this. I'm trying to find out how the two interact, and have...
