    No wireless after virus

I don't know if I received a wireless card in the first place. How do I go about installing a wireless card? Is it a hardware piece that requires me to unscrew some stuff inside? I won't tell them about the virus the next time I call but since my warranty isn't over and doing a restore to...

    No wireless after virus

During troubleshooting, the network diagnostic log showed some .etl file. It led me to a site to download RegWork. After running RegWork, it detected >500 problems of sorts. Not sure how trustworthy this is.

    No wireless after virus

I am pretty sure the wireless is turned on. It says it is turned on when clicking fn+f8. On the front, the wireless light is orange. However, other lights such as power button are green. I am not sure if this means the wireless is not working properly or does the wireless light turn green when I...

I am using a Toshiba Satellite t115d-s1125. I have windows 7 home premium. I got a virus once but my antivirus took care of it. Afterwards, I no longer have wireless access. lose wireless after standby

I actually did have all my drivers that I needed from the hp website on hand to install. There are no other problems besides this. Could there be a driver that I missed that affects the wireless?

    lose wireless after standby

For me, Fn+F5 puts my computer in standby. I think the master switch is the one I am having trouble with. When I first got the laptop, there would be no problems with the wireless. I am only having problems now after I reformatted(with a different disk than what was provided).

    lose wireless after standby

After I reformatted my hp laptop(a long time ago), I would lose wireless connection after standby. The light for wireless would not come up. However, it does return after I restart. I am not sure if there is some driver issue but is there anything I can do so that wireless connection remains...

    external suddenly not working

Is there a way to fix this? If I were to send it back to seagate for a replacement as I am still under warranty, should I worry about them going through my files? I do have sensitive data on the hd.

    external suddenly not working

The external is not detected on 3 computers and I also do not see it under disk drives or usb controllers in device manager. I don't see how it broke so suddenly.

    external suddenly not working

My seagate external hd suddenly stopped working. It was working on one computer before I safely removed the usb, and then when I connected it to computer B it didn't work. I have connected it to computer B in the past and it worked fine but I just replaced the hard drive in computer B and am...

    can't startup computer

What exactly could I have accidentally done to the bios? I know everything is in the proper place but I may have damaged something in the process. I tried the HDD boot option but it just comes up with the screen with the 5 choices as I noted above. I put the boot cd in but it does not detect a...

    can't startup computer

There are two choices at the bottom of the screen for like one second before it boots. One is to choose the boot order. The other is to enter bios which is f10. I did enter bios(the blue screen) but could not find anything about "HDD recognition and settings" and the only other place that I...

    can't startup computer

OP here. Considering that my internal hard drive is newer than my laptop and that it is one of the first and easiest pieces to remove, it seems weird if that is what is malfunctioning. I placed my CD which I used to install windows(not HP's utilities) in and booted from the CD but it could not...

    can't startup computer

OP here. I was wrong above about choosing safe mode. Actually, after choosing safe mode, many lines get displayed with multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\system32\Drivers\....sys where the ... is different each time. Afterwards it goes back to the screen with the 5 options.

    can't startup computer

I was replacing the internal fan of my hp dv5220us laptop today. Afterwards, it won't startup. I did not have any problems with replacing the fan. But I think I may have done some harm during the process of taking my laptop apart. After I put my laptop back together, there would be nothing...
