In terms of processors and video cards, what's on the way? The last time I built a computer was three years ago, and I sort of fell behind the times. I've been trying to find as many articles and posts that delineate a roadmap for Intel and AMD but have not had any luck.
It seems like the...
I am currently running an 8800GTS 320mb, and I am wondering if I should upgrade since the 8800GT 512mb provides a huge leap in performance. I could resell my 8800gts for something around 190-200 dollars, and could use that in order tobuy a new one.
I need some feedback: is it worth doing...
How do I find my RAM's default voltage?
When I go into my BIOS, I don't see anything that relates to default voltage, rather, I see options that allow me to increase the voltage. My worry is that how do I know what voltage I'm using when I don't even know the stock voltage.
It seems I'm having issues overclocking my new E4400 chip.
I can get it to 3.10 GHz at 1.4V. I have 4 gigs of DDR2-800 ram, but I have no idea how to set the memory divider ratio to 1:1 or whatever the number is. My mobo is Gigabyte P35-DS3R.
How do I do this?
I know that there's an...
I've read almost every article and review, compared all the cards and everything and I'm still at a loss.
Here are my conclusions about the state of the Video Card world:
1. Current top-of-the-line cards cannot handle DX10.
2. DX10-intensive games will not be out for another year.
3...
What to choose?
There's a nice deal for 4 GB of HP DDR2-667 RAM for less than 100 dollars. But there's also a nice deal for 2 GB of Patriot DDR2-800 RAM for less than 100 dollars.
I'm not sure which to choose.
Some notes:
I plan on gaming a lot. In fact, the rig is mostly used for...
I'm a complete idiot when it comes to memory.
Here are a few questions for you guys:
What are CAS latencies, and how do they affect a computer's performance?
I understand the numbers, such as 667 mHz vs. 800 mHz; but I do not understand the performance gains one would get when using...
I'm building my first computer at the moment, and am in a predicament.
The Intel price drop on July 22 has prompted me to build a new computer that will hopefully be able to handle all the new generation games. (The computer I have right now is a piece of crap.) But to be honest, I have no...
