Base memory qualification is at 1.5V, which is different than running the system overclocked and the 1.65V rule still stands as suggested maximum memory voltage.

    975 D0 Preview

What batch number do you have? Also, did you update your P6T Deluxe to the 1403 BIOS that has the correct settings for the D0 microcode. All of the i7 motherboards will require a motherboard update to properly recognize and adjust settings to the D0 stepping. That said, the boards will POST...

    975 D0 Preview

The preview is updated, I am running all tests currently at 4.41 on just slightly higher voltages but with memory still at 7-8-7-20 1T, just at 2100 now. I have the second processor going to Raja who will test it on the Classified board with his cascades and LN2.

Latest Core i7 release date info

There is an NDA on the NDA lift date for i7/X58. ;) Anyway, all I can say is that boards are in production now and retail kits will start arriving late next. Production samples have been around for the last week or so for BIOS tuning purposes.

    Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H (790GX) BIOS F2A released

I will post another beta early next week that has additional CPU support and memory tweaks. It is the one we are using for the roundup that should be up late next week. In the meantime, I just received a 125W 9950BE and it is not clocking any better than my first retail 9950BE from a couple of...

    'Nehalem' at 2.9GHz and X58

2.66, 2.93, 3.2 at launch... which considering the new design is actually incredible from our viewpoint. Even more incredible is just how high they clock at this point on somewhat immature X58 platforms. Hopefully that headroom remains at launch. That is all I can say... ;)

Where is Anandtech's P45 motherboard review?

I have the same motherboard here, doing 425 stable with a BIOS that will be released to the public. I saw 500FSB on an engineering board when visiting with ASRock, but they insisted those results were not representative of retail boards. I do not doubt for a moment that the P43 will do 475~500...

Where is Anandtech's P45 motherboard review?

Not disturbing at all, the P43 is targeted for the sub-$100 market. P45 is for the mid-range performance market. I am already hearing from a couple of suppliers that through some BIOS coding, the P43 overclock performance is a little better. Honestly, a good solid 400FSB on any Core 2 CPU with...

Asus striker II formula or MSI P7N Diamond

Since you are running a Q6600 and need/want SLI, the EVGA 750i FTW Edition is a great board and after the last BIOS update, the MSI P7N Platinum is a very good choice also. However, with the 750i, you only get four SATA ports. I would go with a solid 750i board over the 780i any day at this...

    EVGA 750i FTW?

If you can live with the four SATA ports, it is a better board than any of the 780i board on a price/performance/stability curve, plus overall performance is just great. The MSI P7N after the last BIOS is turning into a really good NV board.

P43 sucks! Only overclocks to 400+ FSB?

    me too... :D

Any Solid x48 boards out there?

Most of the X48 boards are doing very well now after a flurry of BIOS releases lately. On the low-end of the spectrum, ASUS P5E Deluxe is a really good choice as is the Gigabyte DS4, or the DFI T2RS. If you do not plan on overclocking past 450FSB, any of those boards are solid choices.

    Gigabyte or MSI?

MSI is fine at the low end with the Neo Series if high overclocks are not a priority, the P43 is a P45 basically, only noticeable difference is OC being limited to around 400~415FSB. Gigabyte is also very good on the low end as is Biostar. The new mid-range ASUS P45 boards are much better than...

Where is Anandtech's P45 motherboard review?

I have 13 boards in for testing at the moment. The GF8200/780G comes first in a week, probably be around 7/11~7/14 for the P45 roundup. We will cover the P43 also as it is basically the P45 with overclocking limited to 400~415FSB. The majority of the boards will be in the $125~$175 range.

Asus P5Q Deluxe with 16gb memory

The new GSkill 4GB modules work fine, but at 6-6-6-15. Just make sure you get the latest 0704 BIOS on the board before trying them.

    P5Q-E

What BIOS did you try to flash to, the latest is 0704. Be sure to use a USB thumb drive and EZ Flash in the BIOS.

    P45 Chipset and Crossfire

Working on an article for Friday with CF performance on the X48/P45, the problem with that article is they did not show single card scores so you could compare percentage differences between the boards. The P45 board they used is slower clock for clock than the X48 in a single card configuration. ;)

    Micro-ATX motherboards for E8400 at stock with one PCI-E 2.0 x16 ?

Intel commences production of the G45 chipset in the third week of July, boards will hit retail in August. I am still waiting on DFI to verify their schedule from Computex in regards to the P45/P43 uATX boards, expect to see ASRock and maybe a couple of others follow suit.

Looking for a cheap SLI board for AM2, Phenom capable

Biostar TPower N750 is a very solid, well performing board for the money. That said, if budget is a primary concern I suggest the ASRock K10750SLI-WiFi. The next two boards on my list would be the ASUS M3N-HD or Gigabyte GA-M750SLI-DS4.

    ASRock P43/P45 Contest

ASUS spun them off late last year. That is the major reason why they now design and build boards with current chipsets.

Best P45 Board under $200? Get the Biostar I45 or Asus P5Q Pro or P5Q-E?

Flip a coin... the two top midrange P45 boards we have tested so far are the Biostar TPower I45 and ASUS P5Q Pro. I have heard a lot of good things about the P5Q-E (I would go this direction for the extra $10) and Gigabyte EP45-DS3R, both are arriving tomorrow. At the lower end of the price...

    ASRock P43/P45 Contest

Hi, ASRock has a Luck Draw contest that is running through July 21st with the opportunity to win a P45 or P43 motherboard. It is a fairly simple question and answer process and should only take a couple of minutes to answer. You can enter here - ASRock Lucky Draw :)

    Phenom + DDR2 1066 + SLI

The 780a launches on 4/29 and is NVIDIA's new AMD chipset with SLI support. DDR2-1066 is fully supported although we are not seeing much benefit from it over low latency DDR2-800 right now.

When Is Anandtech Going To Expose Gigabyte's Failure To Support Its Products?

Good Day... Unfortunately, there was a three day holiday in Taiwan/China and we were unable to reach anyone in the main offices. We spoke with the US office and they were trying to contact the same personnel. I will not have an update until Monday. I did not receive details on the final...
