Apple Mac Mini Review (mid 2010): My Take

I would like to point out another "Apples" to oranges comparison: How can anyone reasonably expect a TINY 3rd party vendor/IC manufacturer(s) or any other's in the same production-class (nearly all of the "PC" world is made from these tiny manu's) to compete with APPLE?... A HUGE, mega/global...

Apple Mac Mini Review (mid 2010): My Take

The MBPro is built from a unibody aluminum shell, which is a heatsink; the whole unit serves to cool all the tightly attached components etc... The "feet" merely lift the object off the surface which it rests, thus reducing heat buildup from flat surfaces, and allowing semi-active airflow. I...

Apple Mac Mini Review (mid 2010): My Take

Hi, firstly—thanks for the reply! I'm not bashing OSX at all... I'm merely pointing out the obvious marketing ploy. In reality, aside from in-house design, "Apple" is nothing but an OS; the hardware IS INTEL/Windows based with a few customized security chips added... Cheapest way? You could get...

Apple Mac Mini Review (mid 2010): My Take

Here's my take (diatribe) on the latest Mac-Mini review... Remember it's just my opinion, and nothing personal to all zealots, fanatics, sympathizers etc... This is nothing but another overpriced Apple rehash of old-technology into a small, shiny, sleek, box. Profiteering for "Apple" is...

Yeesh IC Diamond 7 is some crazy stuff

Since I haven't seen any pictures... I'm assuming "etch" is being confused with abrasive. I mean it's DIAMOND particles = they will polish anything if rubbed hard and long enough. Etching is purely chemical and would leave a "chemical-burn," and blackish pitting in the surface of the substrate...

    AnandTech 13th Anniversary Giveaway:WHO won?

Just asking about who won this contest? It's been near 2 months and I haven't heard a thing about it? I hope this wasn't some kind of phishing/marketer attempt to build a huge DB-list of users, addresses, etc... Can someone update me please? Thanks.

Yeesh IC Diamond 7 is some crazy stuff

I'm going to dissent regarding this issue; I have been using IC7 since the very 1st release of it, and I've changed out many CPUs with IHS and with my own custom made copper IHS and have NEVER EVER seen any etching on the IHS nor the CPU core. All the lettering is intact and fine. Every...
