    Need Advice: Mid-Rang'ish' Computer build $850 - $1000

Rig built.. and it runs great! The Corsair 300R case is huge... plenty of room, easy to work with, great for cable management. I'm not complaining as it works great, and looks great to me, but it is big I am sold on SSD. The computer boots to the desktop in less than 5 seconds... and powers...

    Need Advice: Mid-Rang'ish' Computer build $850 - $1000

Parts Ordered tonight. I got the Corsair 300R case instead of the 200R and I did find the Samsung 120GB SSD on Amazon for $101, so I ordered it from there. I also happened to have $100 of Reward Points to use on Amazon so I'll consider that one a free item for the computer :) I'll let you...

    Need Advice: Mid-Rang'ish' Computer build $850 - $1000

I appreciate the info... not that I would know what would happen, but I would have hated to underpower the components or over work the PSU.

    Need Advice: Mid-Rang'ish' Computer build $850 - $1000

I now agree with MFENN's suggestion to just order the parts when I could have. Thinking that Black Friday or Cyber Monday would be a great time to pick up the parts has left several items as Out of Stock. Ugh... Maybe I can find a decent balance between Newegg and Amazon to get everything now.

    Need Advice: Mid-Rang'ish' Computer build $850 - $1000

THe 7850 seems like a great card, and since it will work with my 500W Power Supply, I'll add that one to the build. Thank you for sharing the knowledge and listing parts. You've managed to keep it all under $1000 and that includes the 24" IPS monitor. I know that I'll be happy. I should have the...

Hello to you too... I live in Provo and work in Millcreek. Any major differences between the ASRock board vs the Biostar? If the quality and reliability are the same or better then I'll use it based on the lower price.

    Need Advice: Mid-Rang'ish' Computer build $850 - $1000

I am happy to upgrade for $15. Any disadvantage to a single fan card vs. a dual fan? Or is it safe to assume if the card is built with one fan it will be sufficient for its cooling needs? Also would I need to upgrade my existing 500W power supply for this card?

    Need Advice: Mid-Rang'ish' Computer build $850 - $1000

Last question is when to actually purchase the items. It looks like the parts recommended will be coming from Newegg and Amazon to get the 'best' prices. Is it going to be best to order on the Friday after Thanksgiving? I am fine waiting if it will make a difference in some of the prices...

    Need Advice: Mid-Rang'ish' Computer build $850 - $1000

I do like the suggestions Lehtv. The PSU really hasnt been taxed with anything significant... around 2008-09 I had eventually opted for the Earthwatts 500W after 3 RMAs over 3 years with previous Antec SmartPower 450W. The Earthwatts has been a solid PSU so far. The i5 + Asrock Mobo seems to...

    Need Advice: Cisco|Linksys E2500 or E4200

I need to acquire a new wireless router for my home. Current wireless router is a Netgear Wireless N-150, which seems to be on its last leg. I am looking for a solid wireless router with about 4 LAN ports. Searching around on Anandtech I seem to have found the E2500 and the E4200 receive great...

Help finding an Nvidia card in an 'older' system

My wifes 'older' desktop is looking like it needs a new video card. I would like to try an Nvidia card for the PCI-E 16x slot instead of another ATI X1950 PRO that is in there now. I think the nvidia drivers are more 'friendly' with this system and applications she uses. Any thoughts on what...
