Our state legislature is always trying to out stupid itself each year. They have been trying to make the Bible the state book for a few years running. The big thing last year was making it so mental health professionals can turn down treating people based on religious (i.e. you're gay) reasons.
I also have both of those same cards that are serviced by Synchrony and I have had no issues with them. I pay the amazon card of immediately when I use it though so I haven't had any prolonged interaction with them. I don't think you can get the cash back and the same as cash option on the...
Avoiding the fight is always preferable. One thing BJJ and MMA has taught me is how easily destructible the human body is. That being said, it will give you a sense of confidence that you may not have had before. I've found that doing BJJ consistently has helped me handle stress better by...
I usually do about one night a week of no-gi. I generally train about 4 nights a week total. My 40 year old body can't hold up to much more. Wrestlers give me trouble in both. But , if I can get them on their back I can usually do ok. It's immediately evident when a new person comes in if they...
This. I'm a blue belt in BJJ and when a new guy comes in and is a former wrestler, they are usually tough to roll with. Their awareness on the ground and years of experience makes up for their lack of technical knowledge a lot of times.
I love BJJ but I'd never want it to be my sole form...
I agree. I love this show. I was a little disappointed with last nights finale. It's not that it was bad, I don't think I've ever seen a bad episode. I just expected something different. Still, I thought it was a great season.
If I remember, he played for close to two hours. He didn't improv a ton but sounded great both playing and singing. I really enjoyed the show. A lot of that could be attributed to the venue because the Ryman is such an awesome place. I'm going again next month to see him at our "new"...
I think it's Smalljon Umber, his son. He just briefly mentions that Greatjon died but nothing about how or when. It could be part of a ruse or just a convenient way to get rid of a character no one has seen in 4 seasons.
I think IRL the actor had scheduling conflicts which is why he didnt...
A few weeks ago I did some research on est. It turns out that it's basically still around but goes by another name. It seems Elizabeth was pretty spot on about how it operated.
I loved LA Noire. Some of the action sequences sucked but I liked the story, investigations and the setting.
There was an old Sierra game called Rise of The Dragon which I loved as a kid. It was a detective game set in a dystopian future. I remember it fondly.
Yah. I played it for a long time when it came out. I feel like I've played them all. I was thinking of going back to an old one but nothing is grabbing my attention.
I'm on the fence with this game. I read great reviews about most of the game but all of the reviews have something in them that makes me think twice about picking it up. Now that some of you have been playing it for a bit, do you recommend it? I'm an mmo vet since EQ and I'm not currently...
I'm hoping to play more next week. It's hard for me to find time during the week because of work and BJJ. Usually I'll play weekends but I'm out of town this weekend.
I've run a couple of the PVE mission with a group on hard mode and it can be a challenge. I'm not sure what role I want to play. Tank and heals both seem interesting. I currently run (at level 15) with the AOE heal pack that revives teammates and the tank skill that reinforces cover and heals...
Hah. i dont think that was us. We were fighting the NPCs next to the extraction point at the gas station when I think someone ran into our gunfire. After that we just stayed rogue and kept murdering people.
I changed my Uplay name so that some friends who know be by another name could find me. It's Veritas325. I've not been on much this week but should be more next week.
Had a great time in the DZ the other day. I joined a random group and we accidentally got turned rouge so we just ran with it...
I've tried to explain this to people before. It's just a different type of cardio. We usually do 4 or 5, 5 to 7 minute rounds and by the end of the class, I'm exhausted. Even athletic and fit people that come in for their first few classes gas quickly.
One of the big problems for people...
This. Once my gas is gone it's difficult to do much of anything except possibly survive. I try to conserve as much energy and roll as relaxed as possible.
Usually I'm good for the first 3 rolls but by 4 and 5 it's gut check time. These are the most important ones in my opinion.
I'm 6'2", about 260 and when I roll with my Professor who's about 5'7" and 160 or so I get pwned over and over again. Now, I'm still a white belt with about a year of training and he's a 3 stripe black belt. Granted, we are not striking but from a technique perspective the difference in skill...
It works pretty well for me. The only issue I have is sometimes it takes a couple of times to get it to turn on. There is almost a cadence to the way you have to say "Xbox On" to get it to work. All of the other commands seem to work fine. I don't use the gestures at all, but sometimes if I...
I agree with Don Vito, Fargo is the best show on TV since Breaking Bad. It seems so well put together. I'm sad that S3 isn't going to be out until 2017.
I did some reading yesterday and apparently Hanzee's new name (Mr. Tripoli) is the name of the boss of the guy that bullied Lester in S1...
I think I made it through 2.5 episodes before I quit watching. I guess he should have just made SOA with a horse gang that runs swords instead of guns.
I really enjoyed S1 and S2. S3 was OK and I disliked 4. I have mixed feeling about this season. It really feels like each week they just go out of theor way to see how shocking they can be. And none of it is shocking. It reminds me of all of the 90s commercials where everything was...
I pretty much only drink water. A couple of days a weeks I may have a soda or some tea. On most days I drink about 135 oz a day. Sometimes it's more depending on how hard brazillian jiu jitsu class was. If I don't drink water, training is tough.
Same here. I had really high hopes that they could return the goodness that was season 1, but so far, it's worse than the final season. Since it's basically a mini-series I'm going to watch them all but the acting is terrible. I mean, it's laughably bad.
One of the best. The ending scene with the music and almost no dialogue is one of my favorites ever. Being from East TN, the scenes always remind me of home. I think I'll have to go pick up the blu-ray this weekend.
Most likely they have a "depraved heart" or "depraved indifference" statute in which unusually reckless behavior gives rise to the mens rea to be charged with murder, which is probably a variation of 2nd degree. Some states actually call it "depraved heart" murder and have a specific murder...
