    New build please help! :)

haha too late, just bought it this afternoon. I got a xfx 5870 for 292 with a 30$ mail in rebate. The xfx 6950 is $313 with no rebate. So.. a $50 dollars more for 10 fps max in some games is not really worth it for me. Hopefully the 5870 can be over clocked a bit.

    New build please help! :)

Does the gtx 570 overclock well? I know that 6970's real bad, probly cause they pushed it to the limit just to keep up.

    New build please help! :)

Pretty disappointed in the 6900s since they're barely faster than the 5800s. Don't really want to get the gtx 460 either since it can barely handel crysis at 1080p very high. My ideal single solution card will be something that can pull 45-50 fps on crysis maxed at 1080p. Any ideas guys??

    New build please help! :)

Ok alright, I guess that makes sense. Would you recommend a good performer for its price that is stronger than the gtx 460? I was thinking the 570 but then again a 6970 is the same price on newegg canada and for 100 dollar increase over the 6870, i dont see how that justifies the increase over...

    New build please help! :)

Hey MisterDonut, thx for the suggestions as they are good! The MSI motherboard does seam like a good deal and a decent overcloacker (will be overclocking later on). The reason why I wanted to get the 750W and 6870 is so that later down the road, I can pick up another 6870 for cheap and...

    New build please help! :)

Hey guys, I've been looking for a new build to mostly play games/coding on my 24" 1080p monitor. My plan is to buy a video card now (6870 unless theres something better) and sli/crossfire it later on. Ill be ordering from newegg canada only. Heres my build: Keep in mind, I already have a...

    My first gaming rig build

But the recommended PSU for a 5850 is 500w and im guessing ati took into account that people will buy cheap PSUs? THe phenom X4 II 955 is like only 40 dollars cheaper from where I live.

    My first gaming rig build

Hey guys I'm looking to game on a 1080p monitor for as cheap as possible. I put this build together and will probably(hopefully) be getting it in a month. My budget was around 900 but it totaled out to be over 1k. Is there anything I can improve on in terms of bang for buck? CPU: I5...

Brand new LCD monitor displays faint annoying waves?

Actually, I'm planning on building a computer soon and don't want to spend the extra money on the hdmi cables. I do have a spare DVI cable somewhere. Do you think if I used that on my new build then the waves would disappear completely or should i just suck it up and buy the hdmi cable just to...

Brand new LCD monitor displays faint annoying waves?

I switched the vga cable with another one that literally has twice the diameter and the monitor seams to be doing a lot better. The waves occur less frequently and when they do, it's intensity is not as violent as before. So I'm guessing its probably best if i switch to hdmi to dvi cables?

Brand new LCD monitor displays faint annoying waves?

I have intergrated Intel 4500MHD and it has no problem rendering 1080p movies on my friends 40 inch LCD TV through HDMI. The monitor itself has a dvi connection but my laptop does not. Does anyone know whats going on cause i don't think the monitor itself is defected.

Brand new LCD monitor displays faint annoying waves?

Hey guys I'm new to the forum and I've just bought a 24 inch Samsung SyncMaster 2494SW today. I have it pluged into my laptop which has a 4500mhd and performance wise its doing great. After a hour of use, I started to notice very faint distortions that look like waves all across the screen...
