what kind of tim are you using, conductive or non-conductive? is it dripping onto the cpu? if cpu overheats when you wait for several hours and turn it on you should at least get to bios, it shouldn't heat up to 70c that fast.
44/40 seems fine. if you have an amd chip the threshold is 62c, if you have intel the threshold is a lot higher (believe its 100c? correct me if im wrong). but either way, you shouldn't have a problem. my guess is some component in your system is probably not stable. disable auto restart and if...
ya with my e6300, was able to run 2.6 fine, then it just pooped that one day and I tried to mess around with it for a while and eventually gave up and ran it at stock.
there are other reasons as well. for the work I do, mac is totally useless. my colleague has a macbook pro and it takes him 10x harder to do the same stuff I do and eventually he would just give up and move to the common pc (pentium 4) to get the job done faster.
the only thing i like about...
try a different thermal compound, and/or try reseating the cooler and see if it makes a difference. I don't like as5 that much, the tuniq tx2 i had seems to be much better.
that doesn't matter, you can still keep going with the numbers and eventually it'll ask you to continue or to stop. basically overflow = really really really large number
btw, using virtual machine on w7, I can only do max 40000 before it craps out. I set 512mb of ram available, no drivers...
you'll def save money building a system yourself. check newegg.ca and ncix. you should be able to pull together 500w psu (antec trupower new 550w, 40 AR), athlon x4 or better w/ am3 mb ($200), simple case ($30), 500gb hdd ($50), 4gb ddr3 1600 ($105) and dvd-rw (25) for $450. this system will be...
does the ram boot with lower voltage (1.5v)? the kingston rams i have and the corsair xms ones i installed for a friend both recommended 1.65v but they boot absolutely without a problem at 1.5v, in fact the xms is running at 1.4v without a single problem.
see if you can find screws to open the case up, if you can then you can take out the hdd and plug it into your desktop via sata connectors and backup all your files that way.
why would you say its a heat problem? if your cpu is 60c and mb 50c there is no way you are experiencing heat problem. i'm leaning more toward the software problem, more specificity on the problem would help with the diagnosis.
chill man...i have had not so great experiences with ocz. both stick came to be defective. i ordered ocz gold ddr2 1066 but they won't go above 800 which is nowhere near the spec. and when i clear cmos they won't boot, i have to stick my old crucial in to turn up the voltage to 2.3 (recommended...
dude you need to wait.
vista and 7 both have this weird problem (at least for me) that the screen will pause for up to 10min before it starts (this time varies with brand of dvd-drive for some reason). you get the pause at the initial screen and you get the pause right before you key in the...
you sure the fan is working properly? can you hear it spin to the max? if not try messing with some of the settings in bios or get speedfan and try controlling it see if it helps.
sorry i didn't notice the laptop is 2.5month old. maybe a better solution is to send it back and let them replace...
they don't, that's up to the motherboard and sockets. lga1366 handles triple channel thus u have to buy them in triplicates (3x2 etc). lga1156 and am3 handles dual channel thus you have to buy them in doublets (2x2). performance wise, unless you do heavy video editing / rendering, you won't...
if the fan is pushing a lot of hot air out, that means you've correctly seated the heatsink. showing that it's prolly just the fact that computer is getting old. so get a lappy cooler and you should be fine.
EDIT: your temp seems to be normal of a laptop, mine hit over 100C many times and is...
unplug ur psu, then press on button and hold it for a while, then plug everything back together and start again see if it solves the problem, if not, try resetting cmos, if still no luck, then plann to get a new mb.
if you want to oc, get at least a good aftermarket cooler like cooler master 212 (25 bucks ish). Stock cooler = stock speed, if you overclock you'll likely run into some serious heat problems.
80c is too high, i would say 65C is a good temp you should try shooting for.
btw iirc noctua tim is...
try upping the fsb voltage etc. sometimes the cpu can be hours occt stable but would restart occasionally due to the board itself. mine did that at 1.3v but after i put it to 1.32v the problem disappeared.
what bios are you running? the original bios that came with the board wont' even recognize my 1055t so i had to run a bios update to the newest f7b, no problems afterward.
lol just make sure you remember where all the pieces are.. i hate working with laptops, broke 2 of them cuz some pieces were stuck and eventually i was pissed off so i just ripped stuff apart and couldn't put them back together anymore
btw just out of curiosity, what did u do to break it? or...
So can you get into bios or does it stuck before that? if you can then you can choose "boot from CD" from the priority list, otherwise seems to be a memory problem. try reseating the memory, if no success, try to get a piece of old ram with similar speed and stick that in there and see if it boots
Let's go through this step by step cuz im a little confused on what you did.
1. You said you have a brand new battery and charger lying around somewhere and they did not fix your problem => showing it's not AC nor it's a battery problem.
2. You said the led on your AC power supply tickers...
i had that chip lol with dfi lanparty board, overclocking was easy as hell, hit 3ghz w/ a freezer 64 pro without any problem. sold that system tho cuz the fan i had was putting out like 160cfm and sounded like a vacuum cleaner.
seems like your battery is dead + won't charge, try a different charger see if it'd turn on. or if you have a spare battery you can put that in and see what happens. it has nothing to do with your hard drive, maybe motherboard but doubt it since your battery = red => no charge and yet you are...
i agree with mfenn, ocz rams are hit or miss so most likely one of your dual channel sticks arrives dead. other companies seem to have better quality controls.
i would choose an intel chip for your purpose as with amd chips, you'll lose about 20fps in a lot of games, the gains are in rendering...
could be a ram problem, if you happen to have another stick of ddr3 use that then set voltages to ocz's settings and then boot, your bios defaults to 1.5v for ram and ocz rams can't boot with such a low voltage.
if you have a microcenter nearby you should def purchase your i7 processor from them. i highly recommend i7 930 over 920, similarly priced but is a newer chip.
other than that, shoulda be fine, prolly want to consider a better graphics card then 9800gt tho, maybe 5770?
