Now it looks like I need a pump...

Eric gave feedback to Koolance and the really listen to our feedback and typically implements on the next revision. We do the same for all parts we review, some companies listen, others don't.

    XSPC Rasa 750 RS360 kit

I am really happy to see these kits are getting more people to consider and adventure into water cooling. In fact, due to their popularity and what seems to be easy implementation, we have decided to add water cooling kits to our test schedule for this year. So a big thanks to you in the...

    Deciding on the Corsair H50

If you're going to spend $70+ on either of the Noctua's... pay the couple bucks more and experiment with the H50. I was quite happy with the usability and performance of the H50 through testing (review coming very soon).

Swiftech Apogee XT or Koolance CPU-360?

Easier bleed, less potential for problems... the D5 is built like a tank!

Swiftech Apogee XT or Koolance CPU-360?

DDC vs. D5 is one of those never ending debates. Both have been taken from other intended uses and applied to water cooling. IMO, D5's are an easier starter pump and once you get more comfortable go with DDC's.

Anyone ever get a bad batch of TIM?

Yeah, I'm not liking MX-3 at all... bring back the MX-2 and 30g tubes at that!

Anyone ever get a bad batch of TIM?

I've been using MX-3 since MX-2 has pretty much disappeared from etailers. To me, MX-3 is completely different than MX-2... 3 seems to be oily like you're seeing and the consistency is completely different than I was used to. All four tubes I went through testing Air Coolers was the same. Some...

Anybody try the dime trick with the Megahalems?

Not true, some are bowed. And screw the corners, as long as you get good contact over the majority of the IHS you're all good. The Intel IHS's these days have more ups and downs than a Kardashian. :D

    Noctua NH-U12P SE2 Opinons?

decreased, yeah "gain" may not have been the best term to use. :)

    Noctua NH-U12P SE2 Opinons?

Just wrapping up my testing and the Noctua NH-U12P is included. There was roughly a gain of 2C with Push/Pull versus a single fan in Push. Mind you, I was running these coolers at a rather high OC (one of my mistakes for this round-up), results will vary. The fans are nice and quiet though.

Any comments on the Thermalright Venomous X?

I'm holding my comments about specific coolers at the moment as I still have some testing to complete before I am done for this round and review. What I will say goes towards every cooler I'm testing presently: Manufacturing tolerances and variance between two Titan Fenrirs, Megahalems...

    Thermalright Chill Factor 2

One more thing to note... this is the only cooler thus far that has mount variation. I knew I opened my mouth too soon. :D
  22. skinnee

    Thermalright Chill Factor 2

Yeah, I even tried the TRUE in the same mount. While the TIM print isn't as good with the TRUE's own mounting system its still better. With a set of calipers, the TRUE comes in at 15mm thickness and the VX at 14.78mm. I really think my situation is case of mount system and base thickness. This...

    Thermalright Chill Factor 2

Well I'm not quite sure yet, but I am not getting the TIM print I expect nor the performance that I should be seeing. I do have my monocle and old english pipe at the ready for investigation though.

    Thermalright Chill Factor 2

Thanks Ruby! I guess my initial hypothesis was wrong, back to figure out what is wrong with my VX.
  25. skinnee

    Thermalright Chill Factor 2

Slightly OT here... On your VX, when you tighten the "pressure screw" down to all the way (70lb. pressure) does the hold down plate rise off the cooler base (ie: create a gap between the hold down plate and cooler base)?

    DIY Corsair H50 killer...?

Yup, TIM print are like snowflakes. I don't know why the Air coolers aren't showing much variation, for the most part I'm getting less than a degree variation between mounts. I'm either one of the worlds most consistent cooler mounters, there are other thermal/mechanical factors in Air Coolers...

    DIY Corsair H50 killer...?

I do agree with you Ruby, for waterblocks yes, but not for Air Coolers. Having been through almost 100 mounts on different air coolers the mount variation and result in temp difference is extremely small. I say extremly small only because I compare to the mount variation seen with waterblocks...

    QDC Help please?

ahh... ok, thats easier then You have the male part right if you want the male to mount/screw into the block... but the female end you chose is 3/8" ID. 7/16" ID tube is larger than 3/8". You might have to go with the 1/2" barb end female part in order to use 7/16" tubing.

CoolIT ECO A.L.C Vs Corsair H50

Yup, I don't plan on changing the setup and procedure I have. If so, that means a whole lot of retesting and that is never fun.
