I've had this computer for over a year and it's worked wonderfully until today when a blow dryer was running in conjuction with my air conditioners and created a power outage my room.
I'll post my specs just in case it'd help...
Sorry I can't direct link the pictures right now, on an ancient computer with old IE version.
This is what it looks like now(it's upside down): http://img708.imageshack.us/i/picture019hi.jpg/I have everything to my knowledge connected:
I used the blue SATA cables to connect my disk drive and...
I got all my parts a few days ago and I'm starting to assemble it. Though I have a few questions:
This is what I put together so far

Though for this slot:

I don't know what to...
Lol see XD. I really don't know anything, and a recommendation from you would be great. Intel is fine, just I don't trust my judgment with picking out parts.
Well I would prefer an AMD, but the guy posted an Intel build. Because I am too inexperienced to know the problems with parts, I used his.
I take it I should make another topic for a build recommendation, but I don't want to create spam on this forum. If you could help me with a list of parts...
Wait, is all this trouble from the power outage you experienced? I was thinking about following your parts list but now that you've witnessed so many errors and problems i'm hesitant to do so.
The MB can't be purchased, it can only be purchased with a combo, and the combo isn't stated. How does this one fare with the rest of those parts? http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138162
I found the graphics card in stock on TigerDirect.ca, so that's good.
Ah, thank you. I will use that one.
Last question. I'm settling between two combo deals now. Ones an AMD and the other is an Intel:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboBu...t=Combo.614425
They're both nearly the same price. Which one would...
That looks awesome, but unfortunately I'm from Canada and newegg.com doesn't ship to us.
Edit: Found the Canadian version: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboBu...t=Combo.617105
Then I found this one: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboBu...t=Combo.569871
It may be $100 more, but the PSU is...
Before I begin ordering the parts, I'd like a second look to see if I've missed something because I am an amateur.
Everything is in this picture: http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/1340/computergoodcopy.jpg
I'm expecting this to play new and TBR games at decent+ quality.
