hmm I don't remember the HTC One being that nice :| My mind may be playing tricks on me due to it having a smaller screen lol
I'll try to get my hands on a One for comparison.
+1 :)
I think the N5 has the best IPS screen I've seen so far on an Android phone. You have to look really hard to see the differences between the N5 and S4 under normal lighting.
a few more angles..
S4 w/ Ringke Slim is just as thick as N5. Sorry for the crappy lighting - was in the process of leaving work when I snapped these.
Also would like to note that under bright fluorescent lighting, N5 display is much more viewable due to the IPS LCD.
Took a quick screen comparison shot of N5 (left) vs GS4 (right) on max brightness. Shot w/ another GS4 lol
Will post more angles when I get home tonight.
I agree. I'm not going to sit here and nitpick over materials as long as the phone does what its suppose to do. I'd rather have repairability/function over fashion. You're buying a phone not a house lol
Last time I checked, flagship phones go for $600-$700 when released. Quite frankly, $700 isn't going to break me either. I can think of a lot of other things I can go waste my money on.
Spare me on the "flimsy" materials and the build quality bullshit. The phone works great and hasn't fallen...
I traded my S4 GPe w/ my co-worker's new N5 yesterday just to see if I liked the N5 better. Didn't see any difference in performance. The screen on the N5 was noticeably brighter than the S4 on max brightness but the colors seemed slightly washed out compared to the AMOLED (I prefer the over...
I agree with OP :)
My Surface RT replaced my MBA 13" for on the go computing earlier this year. Perfect device to take notes w/ in class. I'm seeing more and more Surfaces here on campus :) Soon as VLC RT gets released, I'll be unloading my MBA here pretty soon since its been collecting dust.
I can see your point but are you sure GPe devices will continue to roll out as new models are released? After seeing on XDA how Samsung and Google are pointing fingers at each other over some minor issues w/ the S4 GPe, I think these GPe phones were more of a stop gap solution/experiment.
I just see tabs on the rear cover, so you might be able to just pry the cover off assuming they don't go crazy w/ glue. Hoping the teardown is similar to the N4.
hax :P
Still can't believe that you got me across the map last night w/ the tank. I was minding my own business trolling snipers and you had to come and ruin the fun :(
I used the Ringke Slim on my N4.

Drop me a PM if you want it (just pay shipping) because its collecting dust since I've upgraded :) *pending shipping address*
Edit: The back is covered but still pretty slim
According to a HTC rep that I was talking w/ when I was trying to choose between the One and S4, they do battery replacements for ~$100 (cost of new battery + installation). He couldn't get one of their engineers to commit to an exact price due to all the One's still being under warranty.
Bought GPe versions both phones and ended up selling the One to a friend. I preferred the bigger screen + contrast ratio (lots of reading) on the S4. I don't really need expandable storage but the removable battery is a nice plus :)
The One is a very nice phone but it just didn't seem to be an...

If 10 inches isn't a problem, I'd look at the Surface RT w/ Touch Cover. I'm starting to use it more than my MBA 13 during class to take notes and do assignments on. I'm also able to read some of my textbooks through IE since they offer them through the web. Aside from the lack of apps, I think...
you guys need to read :|
