Any non reference RX 480 leaks?

I was wondering if there are any leaks on some non reference RX480s? I'd rather buy an RX 480 with the fans on top instead of with the blower on the reference design.

Am I seriously being forced to buy a Macbook air?!

For a light laptop, the Samsung Series 9 are very lightweight at 2.88 lbs with the standard battery but it does run about $1650. Since I'm ever waiting for the perfect light laptop at an affordable price, I went to the Dell Outlet and picked up the 11z - 1121 model with the Core i3-330UM...

    Asrock h67m-itx... go for it?

Well the H67M-ITX/HT board came in today and it's up and all is well. The layout is the same as the H67M-ITX but it also has Wifi built in and comes with a Media Center remote. It's as fast as the ASUS P8H67-M LE board I had with the previous stepping. Since Newegg didn't have the Asus board...

AMD's CEO Dirk Meyer to leave company - CONFIRMED!!!!

With so many people licensing and producing ARM chips, it's understandable why AMD and even Intel don't bother with it, at least in the Smart Phone market. I like the fact they're working on integrating video into their processors. Why? Consoles. The PC has always had the ability to act as...

    M11x R2 - Which proc?

The i7 is definitely the best on performance. The hinges are the biggest concern with the M11x. Read up more on it before deciding. I liked the M11x, but the hinge issue is why I sent mine back. I've read a compariosn of all 3 and the OC'd SU7300 usually beat the i5, but not the i7. The 7300...

    What about Ontario?

18W @ 1.4 GHz is terrible. Even the Athlon II Neo K325 is only 12W @ 1.3 GHz, thus the 1.0 GHz Ontario is the more attractive part, but what about its performance? For the heck of it, lets look at the leaked Ontario benchmark that showed 3047 GIPS/1351 GFLOPS vs the Atom D510's 1892 GIPS/735...

    What about Ontario?

I'm glad we got some Zacate numbers, but I was more interested in Ontario. What can we expect from the 9W part? I saw a slide that indicated a 1.0 GHz dual core but I don't know if that was true or not. Does anyone have more info?

Is AMD fusion going to be a legit gaming platform?

There's plenty of people that pick up a game that performs horribly because of the curent integrated solutions. With a better performing integrated video, game developers can work with a decent performing low end video setting and then they can scale it up for the higher end discrete cards and...

When will motherboards have better IRQ management

Back in the days of DOS, you had to manually set IRQs (Interrupt Requests) for your devices via jumpers. Of course, you also followed simple rules like never let your video card, network card, or sound card share the same IRQ. Even though PnP was meant to address IRQ deficiencies and allow...

    Phenom II purchased now

I do often wonder what performance considerations people are talking about when they state that performance is gimped between a Phenom II 940 and Core i7 920. Once again, my thoughts on the matter regarding overall system performance for my personal use. Casual games, e.g. Sims - Really...

    Phenom II purchased now

    Overall, I went more budget mided than maximum performance. Here's a bit of a price breakdown on why I went Phenom II over Core i7. Phenom II - $229 (was $235) vs Core i7 920 - $229 (was $295) 4 GB 1066 DDR2 - $49.99 vs 4 GB 1333 DDR3 - $84.99 790 GX MB - $104.99 vs X58 LGA1366 MB - $199...

    Phenom II purchased now

I am merely indicating why I went with the Phenom II now. My basic criteria was true quad core and 3.0 GHz and minimizing cost. As for benchmarks, well, I should hope a 1.8 GHz X2 3800+ is beaten by a 3.0 GHz Phenom II. In fact, with the price drop in the Core i7 920 down to $229 until March...

    Phenom II purchased now

And let's not forget that Intel is releasing a new socket soon, so future upgrade options may be more limited for the current Intel socket. At least AM3 CPUs will be backward compatible with AM2+ motherboards, so there's a more viable upgrade path with lower costs involved.

    Phenom II purchased now

I'm going from a socket 939 X2 3800+ to the Phenom II 940 and here's why I did it now instead of waiting. 1. Price. Right now the Phenom II 940 can be had for as little as $229. The AM3 versions will most likely cost more. Plus, DDR3 is more expensive than DDR2 and the AM3 motherboards...
