    No Power to Computer

I didn't insert anything on that jumper. I read over that part and interpreted it as "default = don't need to do anything". The only ones I put in are the HDD LED, power switch, and reset switch. Double checked to make sure ground was facing the right direction.

    No Power to Computer

This only happens on the initial power on. Reboots are fine. Sleep mode couldn't wake up. I hit all manners of keyboard buttons, moved mouse, hit mouse buttons, monitor stopped getting signal (basically what I see when it doesn't work). The keyboard then went into a seizure (Logitech G15)...

    No Power to Computer

No crashes since, all that leaves is this cable pulling and replugging (displayport) before the system would power on. Otherwise CPU_LED stays solid red. Any ideas on why that happens?

    No Power to Computer

Core Temp reports: All cores are 30C to 34C. Min is 29C on cores 1-3 and 32C on core 0. Max is 36/38/33/37. Load does from 0-3%. The weird thing is the computer works just fine after doing that cable pulling and replugging dance. No crashes, no hangs, no BSOD, no screwed up graphics or...

I've swapped displayport cables once and tried HDMI as part of this morning's testing. No luck.

    No Power to Computer

Just wrapped up trying a pile of stuff: 1: moved graphics card into a different PCI-E slot: same problems 2: unplugged everything and replugged everything: same problems Observations: 1: turning on the system without doing anything will result in the CPU_LED light staying a solid red...

    No Power to Computer

Just woke up and system would not power on again until I yanked the displayport cable and replugged. (worked after one time but some times it'll be stubborn). Also remembered that I never found any switch to turn off the onboard video in the BIOS. Is there a way to do that and is that a...

    No Power to Computer

Okay, did a pile of stuff, replaced the PSU and the system powers.... sometimes. Sometimes when I hit the power switch, it will work fine. Other times (more often than not) I hit the power switch and the CPU LED stays red and I see no signal to monitor. I swapped my graphics card for a spare...

Computer powers now but memory is iffy

Thanks to help already received, I can get power to my new build. However, it seems there is a problem with my RAM. When I only plug one stick (G.Skill F3-10666CL9S-4GBRL), it will sometimes POST after pressing the MEM OK! button on my motherboard. When I don't press it, it usually will not...

    No Power to Computer

I just went to Youtube to see how people do this and then I look at my equivalent connector and see that all the wires are black. How do I go about doing this? UPDATE: Just put the PSU into another computer and it works. UPDATE2: Plugged in a cheapy spare PSU I had and it powers on. Does...

    No Power to Computer

Before I get to that, there's something I forgot to mention: The back of my sound card has a Red LED light that's on. I didn't see any LEDs on the motherboard- (don't know if this motherboard has any). Thanks for your quick reply!

    No Power to Computer

I put together a computer upgrade after several years- however, when I got to the crowning moment, the computer won't turn on. Here are the things I do know and everything carried over was working in the 2 minutes before I turned the old system off for the last time: 1: The graphics card is...

    New System Build won't Post

I've unplugged everything and did it all over again and it seems to work this time- only one thing still bothering me. Sometimes the keyboard and mouse register on the ram check screen and sometimes they don't. When they register it picks up 2 mice and 1 keyboard (I only have one of each...

    New System Build won't Post

The USB is in right, as the case and rear USB ports are fully functional (the keyboard lights up during the second that the computer is on). Sound.. I don't know. I have a card so I typically ignore the onboard sound plug.

    New System Build won't Post

Hi, I recently purchased and received from Newegg: AMD 1100T processor Asus M5A97 board 4x8 gig sticks of G.Skill Ripjaws X ram (it was 4 sticks in a kit) So I plug all this stuff in (was very careful to make sure that the golden triangle lined up) and also had salvaged: HIS HD5770...

    G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3-1333 PC3-10666 help please!

Hi- I recently purchased 3 single sticks of the title RAM with the intention of swapping out the three sticks of OCZ Gold RAM that came as a bundle with my CPU when I bought that. When I plugged it all in however, it would not post. Each individual stick posts by itself, or if it's mixed...

    Internet Issues

I've done extensive research and have received a new modem on this. I didn't realize Optimum online randomly capped people's bandwidth- the numbers posted on Wikipedia were too much of a coincidence- cap of 150 kilobits of upload. My connection's paralyzed, they claim to never cap people and...

Update: After alot of digging around my router I found that one of the pages on my DGL4500 shows "internet sessions" and has this: Local NAT Internet Protocol State Dir Priority Time Out 192.168.0.199:49222 172.27.35.70:49222 65.55.149.122:80 TCP SS Out 128 238 192.168.0.199:64213...

    Internet Issues

I forgot to mention but when the issue comes up I've tried plugging my ethernet cable from my computer directly into the modem (no Ooma or router) and it's the same problem (tried with each of my 4 computers). I haven't tried computer to Ooma to modem yet, though.

    Internet Issues

Hi- I'm not sure which of these many forums to post to but I have a rather peculiar issue- I've been an Optimum Online subscriber for about 4 years now I would say. Never had any big issues but starting on 6/26/2010 however I suddenly get these massive lag spikes at different points in time...

    Seeking a CPU Cooler

I was kind of sleepy yesterday, I forgot to mention I'm running: Intel q6600 B3 Stepping 4 gigs of DDR2 Patriot Ram XFX 8800 GT Antec P182 Case The bios couldn't detect the CPU fan and it was displaying temperatures over 70C (followed by shutdowns shortly after) and someone advised...

    Seeking a CPU Cooler

    Computer won't stay on long

Thanks for the info! One thing bothers me though: before I attempted the migration, the Bios was registering the 75 celsius temperatures but it was running fine with the lid off (shutdown if the lid was on). Now, it shutsdown alot faster even with the lid off- 1/22: Something I noticed...

    Computer won't stay on long

Uh oh- Heh, I hope (for my sake!) that I got all of it off. I remembered it being totally clean before applying the AS5 though. I haven't run CoreTemp (didn't know about it then) and currently my system is not in a condition where I can access that software. It's a relief to hear that...

    Computer won't stay on long

Upon installation a few weeks ago (first time) I scraped the stock thermal paste and applied AS5 on it; gently spreading it throughout the top of the CPU as advised. Everything was working until I tried moving all of it to the P182 case. It always reported some high temperature like that yet...
