Lockup in Games - No BSOD

It crashed once in about 3-4 hours of game time. I have already ran memtest on each stick - both passed after ~10 hours with 0 errors. Setting Windows to not auto reboot and to create small mem dumps was my first step, but no crashes produce a dump file so I assume that's because it's not...

Lockup in Games - No BSOD

Bump. Well, just got the same crash with different SATA cables so that can be ruled out. Still no minidump file. Not sure what else to do - I just don't know.

Lockup in Games - No BSOD

Alright. Changed back to the old SATA cables I was using in my old build and was able to play a game that previously locked up for about three hours with no issues. Maybe coincidence, but hopefully the new SATA cable was just a dud.

Lockup in Games - No BSOD

Would be odd that this PSU would be dying already since I just bought it in April and it's totally overkill for this build. As for the WD Green, I only keep media on it - games are on the WD Black. Someone on another forum suggested it could be a crap SATA cable, which I did change to the...

Lockup in Games - No BSOD

Totally stumped with this one guys. I just built a mostly new ITX build and in two games now I get a similar crash. After some game time (random; Sometimes in 10 mins, other times hours with no issues), the audio produces a short burst of static and cuts out and the entire system locks - can't...

    2500k OC Frustration

I'm heading out for a little, but I am stable at x42 @ 1.34v as well. Going to keep going lower after I get back. I've tested all my RAM before when I was trying to figure this out and didn't see any problems. I was trying to OC previously with PLL overv off and I was still getting BSOD 0124.

    2500k OC Frustration

Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3P Rev1.3 Corsair HX750W More than enough. I bumped the mult down to 42 and I am stable at 1.35v and continuing lower. Not sure why I can't get stable at 45 - even at an absurd 1.4v.

    2500k OC Frustration

One thing I've noticed that is happening (according to HWMonitor) is that my vcore is dropping below the set value during prime95, which I believe is why I keep BSODing 0124. For example, I'm set on 1.37 right now, prime95 is going fine, and then it freezes and is about to BSOD and the vcore...

    2500k OC Frustration

I installed latest BIOS, reset my BIOS settings, and just changed the multiplier. It wouldn't boot on auto voltage, so I changed it to what the BIOS recommended (1.36v). Opened prime95, hit run, immediately BSOD 0124. *edit* BSOD 0124 at 1.37v, 1.38v, amd 1.39v on default BIOS settings.

    2500k OC Frustration

I did this originally and it wouldn't even POST on auto voltage, but I will try again I suppose.

Barely 50C load in prime95, but I can't even get to 4.5GHz now for whatever reason.

    2500k OC Frustration

I have a 2500k cooled with a H100 in a Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3P. When I first got the H100 (was after the chip had been burned in), I immediately OCd to 4.5GHz. I disabled C1E, speedstep, all that jazz, turned on PLL overload, changed multiplier to 45 and kept getting 0124 BSOD, so I continued to...

    SteelSeries Siberia V2 Replacement

Couldn't turn down the SS 7H iPod for $40 - lowest retail online is $120! First time I spotted a damn nice deal on 1saleaday and bought it. Thanks a bunch! Unfortunately they are only for iOS handhelds because the input jack is a 3-band, so the mic wouldn't work on a PC and I also read that...

    SteelSeries Siberia V2 Replacement

I was shopping around for some new headphones to replace my Siberia V2s (nothing wrong with them, just felt like getting new headphones), but after some shopping around in the $80-120 range, I didn't find anything that grabbed my attention. I was looking at the ASUS Vulcan ANC, but found out the...

    New Video Card no worky

Make sure the card is in the correct PCIe slot - should be the slot closest to the CPU. Also, have you tried using the other VGA or HDMI ports, if you have them, to narrow down the options?

Its cold outside, post your temps!

Idle: 28/27/25/20 on a 2500k + Zalman CNPS9900MAX. I watched your video ChrisRey about your H100 in your sig. I literally just bought mine a few minutes ago and hoping it can fit in my DF-85 - I did a lot of measuring. I think I will be placing the rad in push/pull on my rear 2 exhaust 120mm...

    H100 Inside DF-85

Well, after opening my case and taking a look at my options, I realized the H100 on the rear fans would not work. In order to make it fit, I would have to remove one of the two top 140mm fans, which I'd rather not do. Guess I'll just have to stick with the H80 and can mount it on the bottom rear...

    H100 Inside DF-85

I guess that would work. The push fans might be hitting some of the motherboard heatsinks possibly. I think I may just go with the H80 for the lower price and less fitting problems.

    H100 Inside DF-85

I was thinking about buying a H80, which would definitely fit in my Antec DF-85, but I saw the H100 for not much more and was thinking about purchasing it. Problem is, the top DF-85 fans are 140mm while the H100 only holds 120mm. I have been googling and ctrl+f'ing through newegg feedback trying...

    HD6950 Crossfire

Right now I have a single Sapphire HD6950(2GB)(Model: 100312FLEX) and I wanted to get another one to run crossfire. 2 Monitors with Crossfire

Been doing some googling, but I'm finding mixed answers; I have two Asus 21" 1920x1080 monitors that I currently run off one HD6950. I want to get another one to run crossfire, but I have never ran crossfire/SLI before. Two questions: 1) Will both monitors still plug into the card in PCIe...

    MSI RMA Problems

I bought a MSI GTX560Ti Twin Frozr a few months ago and after a few weeks of having it, it began artifacting in 3D applications, progressively getting worse until 3D apps were crashing within minutes. The Newegg RMA had ended, so I sent it back to MSI, which left me without a computer for ~2...

    Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P Revision

It said successful and that I needed to restart, so I did. I put back all my BIOS settings since the CMOS is cleared, booted, and it still says F5. I'm more concerned over why my PCB says "REV1.3" when on Gigabytes site, only a Rev1.0 exists.

    Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P Revision

My new build has been up and running for a few days now and I saw that BIOS F6 added support for 22nm CPUs, so I installed @BIOS and flashed the BIOS automatically with which was supposed to be the newest version. System re-boots, and it is still saying it is F5 (same as before). Now here's...

Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3, slow boot? -Solved! :)

I just bought a Z68XP-UD3P and had a similar problem that drove me crazy. When it would get to windows it would hang - turned out it was my external hard drive causing it, even though I had disabled booting external drives and set my SSD to boot first in BIOS. I just keep it unplugged now...

New build hanging on cold boots

Just threw together my new build (i5-2500k, gigabyte z68xp-ud3p, Crucial M4 128GB SSD, 4GBx2 DDR3-1600). I flashed the M4 firmware to 009, disabled the marvell SATA3 ports (not using them), and changed the intel SATA port mode to RAID and installed Windows without a hitch. Booted up fast...

    Intel or Marvell SATA3 Port?

Just to let everyone know, I got my build up and running and it sure is nasty. Scored 7.5/7.9 in WEI, although that doesn't mean too much. M4 SSD was reading ~500MB/s and writing ~175MB/s in ATObench. I did run into some problems during POST about "ROM option not invoked" or something and...

    Intel or Marvell SATA3 Port?

Yeah, from what I read I planned on disabling them since I only have 1 SATA3 device atm. So change BIOS to RAID, install Windows, then install intel RST drivers? Or is there some way I should install the drivers during the OS installation?
  33. D

    Intel or Marvell SATA3 Port?

SATA3 = 6.0 Gb/s, no? If I have SATA3 ports and a SATA3 SSD, why wouldn't it be running at full potential/ Ok, that is what I read as well, just was making sure. I plan on having a 500GB WD HDD for data, running SATA in RAID won't affect that, will it?

    Intel or Marvell SATA3 Port?

Just bought a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P motherboard along with my other new parts for my new build, which includes a Crucial M4 128GB SSD (bought earlier on sale, already flashed to 009 firmware). I did some googling and pretty much everywhere I saw said to use the intel port and not the marvell...

    Z68 Boot Loop Common Issue?

Yeah I heard once you get the new BIOS on there it stops doing it. I already got the latest firmware on my SSD, but as for BIOS and intel chipset drivers, you can install those after the OS is installed, correct?

    Z68 Boot Loop Common Issue?

From working in retail, I kind of assumed that is the case with a lot of things on newegg. I did have a bad experience with my video card (MSI GTX560Ti) when I ignored the reviews about artifacting and ending up having to RMA it twice, hence why I was a little hesitant after seeing all the boot...

    Z68 Boot Loop Common Issue?

I am buying the rest of my parts soon for my new build and I was going to go with a Z68 gigabyte motherboard (UD4-b3, to be exact, but newegg is out of them so I may get a different model), but I noticed that barely any Z68 motherboards on newegg have 5/5 eggs. I went reading user reviews on all...

    Just got my SSD

I'm just so excited, I'm thinking of reasons to install it and watch how fast it is lol - although my current mobo is only SATA2. At least it has manufacturer 3 year warranty, so if I do install it in a month or so and it doesn't work, that's always an option.
