    Boot Problems...

No I didn't clone them. I simply just installed Windows on the ssd. Should I just format both and start again? Will I run into the same error?

    Boot Problems...

Hi there, I have two 1TBs in a RAID0 as my old OS drive, and recently purchased a SSD which I am now using as my OS drive. I went to format the RAID0 and just use it as a storage drive, but now my SSD wont boot anymore, it is giving me a boot error on start up. I reinstalled Win7 on my...

Phoenix Pro not Detecting... 'Unknown Device'

=/ After all that debating I am unable to detect my Phoenix Pro. It was working and I went to update the firmware here: http://www.gskill.us/forum/showthread.php?t=5684 During the update (well, as I clicked on the update button) it froze. I am now unable to see it in windows or the BIOS. I...

SSD Choices Take #2! [Phoenix vs C300 vs Vertex]

Hi there, I'm trying this another way. I can't seem to process or choose myself. I'm incredibly indecisive. I apologize for this post, but I can't choose =( The Plan I'm going to lay out my wants, system specs and choices I've narrowed it down to. In a day or two I will see which of my...

Purchasing a SSD for Gaming [MMOs] --> Feel Free to Delete^_^

I know this isn't a very good point, but the Phoenix Pro has 100% 5 star from customers on newegg, while the OCZ Vertex 2 is only at 55% five star and 28% 1 star. Should this be relevant to my choice? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3332167&SID=...

Purchasing a SSD for Gaming [MMOs] --> Feel Free to Delete^_^

I don't really want to settle for a Hybrid, the main reason I am doing this is for the SSD experience, I don't really want to cut corners, I want to feel what the full jump feels like =) As much as I like the performance on the 240GB, it is out of my price range =(

Yeah, I was being very generous with the expansion sizes, I don't expect them to get that big =)

Purchasing a SSD for Gaming [MMOs] --> Feel Free to Delete^_^

Right now: WoW: 18 (30 after expansion) SC2: 8 (15 after expansion) FF14: No one knows for sure, recommended is 15 + 6 in My Documents. 30 is a safe number after expansions Win7: No Idea, 20? So, totalling: 70~ before expansions and 95 before expansions. Leaving me enough room to install one...

Purchasing a SSD for Gaming [MMOs] --> Feel Free to Delete^_^

Where is the Phoenix on the benchmark? It's not listed, how does that compare? They just came back in stock on Newegg and is in the perfect price range. Also, are my benchmarks on my RAID performing as they should? I got my friend to do the same benchmark and I got quadrouple his score...

Purchasing a SSD for Gaming [MMOs] --> Feel Free to Delete^_^

I am so confused with that list. I found the first two, both $800, way out of my price range. I am hoping to spend anywhere from $200-400 (CAD). I tried to find the third, the Vertex, but there were seemingly fifty different 100GB Vertex drives... Should I be RAIDing my SSDs? I really have no...

Purchasing a SSD for Gaming [MMOs] --> Feel Free to Delete^_^

Purchasing a SSD for Gaming [MMOs] --> Feel Free to Delete^_^

Hi there, Planning on purchasing a SSD for general gaming use. Specifically FF14, WoW, SC2, Diablo 3, etc. I am consistently last to load for SC2, which seems odd for my HDD setup- I'm tired of being held back with my system. So, it's time to upgrade the last thing I can realistically...

Newly Built Not Performing as it Should =p

I was running it at stock settings... the difference on my GPUs performance between stock and current settings are astronomical. System seems completely stable, stress tested over night, no crashes. However I am noticing one thing. When I load new games, I get a flash of something else at load...

Newly Built Not Performing as it Should =p

Well, after much testing and pushing, here is the best I could get. I couldn't really get my GPU OC'd at all, and I didn't really get a gain with what it's at now either. Made me sad =( I notice a huge drop in frames in the second GPU test when there is a large number of asteroids, also...

Yes, the latest chipset has been installed. I don't know how to verify the Crossfire, I know in GPU-Z it says ATI Crossfired (Enabled 2 GPUs). I dont know what you mean by PEG, but I think it's this, says in GPU-Z: PCI-E 2.0x16 @ X16 2.0

Awesome information. Thanks. Another question I have is about my RAID. People seem to keep wondering if its performing correctly- is there a way to benchmark this? My Windows Experience Index score was 7.7, 7.7, 7.7, 7.7 and 5.9, the low score being the primary hard disk. Not sure if that...

Thank you so much for the information. I just bumped my CPU up to 3989MHz, ran Prime for not long enough (30min) and it was fine, impatient for now, will run it over now. GPU at stock settings. This thing seems to refuse to OC anything much at all. After seeing the person in this thread...

That's exciting. What about my other benchmarks, though. Are they fine for a 5970 and my setup? My 3dMark/Heaven, etc. PS: When i had the discussion about what video card to buy, no one really mentioned the micro stuttering and how big of a problem it is. Where were you then?! :D Is this...

Ashkael, please check the FPS for DAO in this thread, if you could. I was actually in the Denerim Market District during that time, lol. I was running in a circle around the main market area. How does this compare to your FPS in it?

Newly Built Not Performing as it Should =p

Yeah, it wasn't just DAO though. It's WoW as well. And not in 3 hours, immediately at times. So, from my experiments today, I've found boosting the PSU up extremely boosts my frame rate. Bringing my 3dVantage scores up 3000+ on both PSU and GPU. However, it makes the system unstable. Is...

Nope, it was on balanced. Had to bring the CPU down again, was crashing regularly. It's now at 1600 idle and 2900 otherwise. Hmm. With WoW running, RealTemp seems to show mid 40's.

I dont know what it was doing at that speed. It may have been idle, but it now shows 3500MHz on the same 'idle' speed. =o

So, I decided to try overclocking the CPU. I brought it up to 3500MHz, up from 1800MHz. Ran 3dVantage and got 3000 higher score (25500 and 22000 GPU/CPU respectively). Also got 30~ FPS average higher in DAO. Worked perfectly, then typed in this message and got a blue screen. QQ =D

I changed the clocks about 10 minutes ago, I can change it back though. Nothing at all is open aside from CCC. And as for FurMark- do I just leave it on until it crashes? I was scared to go much higher than what I was at. Not just DAO, but WoW seems to be running slower than it should, too.

The above was with DAO open, but not switched to. Updated my above post. How high do I want to push my GPU on FurMark? It was up to 81C, still going fine, but I stopped it. Here is a benchmark from FurMark: SCORE:5088 points (60000 ms) Max GPU Temp: 77°C - Max Current: 3.5A Resolution...
