I've got an i7-950 with the P6X58D-E. I have 3x2GB DDR3-1600. All the BIOS settings are at default, and it puts the memory speed at 1033. I want it to run at 1600, so should I just set the DRAM frequency to DDR3-1600 or should I change it using the bclk? I realize changing the bclk will also...
I'm planning on get 3x2GB for a new PC setup. I plan on doing some gaming (should I only need 4GB?). Should I stay away from CAS 8 & 9 and only be looking at 6 or 7? I'm looking at DDR3-1600.
I'm building a new system and want to plan for some overclocking, probably not more than 4 GHz. Do I need to spring for one of these Megahalems coolers that seems to be popular or get something else? There are so many, I just feel it is very easy to get an inadequate one. Thanks.
I'm looking for a solid motherboard for this chip, something with decent overclocking ability. After all the reading it seems like Asus is the way to go... true story?? What's the best bang-for-the-buck Asus board?? Thanks.
