Exactly what I was thinking when he told me it was powered when the soda spilt. I stripped it down and theres a black patch about the size of a dime, 1" away from the GPU thats toasted. As soon as I removed the mobo all the little transistors or w/e just completely fell off and turned to ash...
I would probably go with the new Intel SSD's in RAID if I was going to drop that kind of money. But then again If I was going to spend that kind of money on a computer I wouldn't even considering having anyone else build it for me. Its kind of like building a race car, half the fun is building...
Its pretty dim, you can barely see what everything says in the right lighting. It's definitely dimmer than my laptops go but since this is not my comp I'm not sure how dim this one goes. I talked to my friend who the computer belongs to and he said they did spill a little bit of soda on the...
I bought a Clevo laptop last May with a SB quad core, GT540M, 1080P screen and 8 gigs of ram for $900. That was a year ago and I still love the laptop today. It plays BF3 just fine on low settings so I know it will play Diablo.
I've got an ASUS K50IJ laptop that the screen is dim on and you cannot adjust it. I took it apart and it has a Samsung LTN156AT02 panel. At this point I have ordered two screens off of ebay/amazon that were supposed to be "compatible" and neither one worked. They wont even show a picture at all...
Half-life is pre 2000? wow I'm getting old! That and TFC/CS were the shit back in the day! I used to like Duke Nukem, the original Doom, and Wolfenstein to name a few.
Back on topic - I have zero issues with BF3 on both my laptop and desktop aside from having to manually update punkbuster after the initial installation. They are completely different animals too. Desktop is i7 920, GTX560TI, with a 24" 1920x1200 display and my laptop is a i7...
Ya know.. I was worried about the exact same thing. I've had the case for a few years now and I really like it overall (CM stacker 830) but I dont want the lil turd doing it again ^_^
Yeah thats what I thought but when I preordered through origin last night it was still advertising early beta access on 9/27.. i guess they are slack and didnt update the website :(
On another note, my dog pissed on my desktop last night and it went right through the mesh case and soaked...
I've heard of a bunch of different dates for the beta so i have no idea when its coming out now. I have a feeling sept 10 or 11 is going to be the actual day but well have to see. I'm going to hold off on my preorder until I know for sure. I'm really curious to see if this old 8800GT will run it...
Figured it out.. there was a laptop left on upstairs that was using the 192.168.1.2 IP so it was conflicting with the new router. Shut down the laptop and I was able to log into the second router and properly set it up. Thanks for the help!
I'm trying to add wireless internet to my basement so I bought a second net gear n300 wnr2000 router. I connected them with an ethernet cable from the lan port #1 on the main router to the internet port on the new one. I ran the auto setup on the new router which gave me internet but I want to...
In optimus mode it runs around 45-60C but when the video card kicks in it runs around 90-100C. I'm going to post in that thread, thanks. I really like the laptop overall I'm just worried about it burning out in a few years.
I received my Sager NP5160 w/ i7 2630QM and 1080P screen last week. This is my first Sager laptop and overall I am very pleased with it. The 1080P screen is awesome, but I wish I would have spent the extra money and got the matte version. The glare on this thing is definitely worse than most...
Rpger - I would really like to get a SSD right away but I just cant afford the extra $100. In the future I'm defintely going to add 8 gigs of ram and a nice SSD to it though.
Qtd - Yeah I agree with the text being hard to read at 1920x1200 but the image quality is soo much better than almost...
I would definitely go for an i3 processor if you can afford it. You will be amazed at how much faster it is than your Pentium 4. Also, the integrated graphics will be much better.
Thanks for all the help! I'm going to go with the Sager since it offers so much more than the competition for the money. I am worried about the quality of the Sager though. They seem to have mixed reviews. Some people have nothing but positive to say while others complain of cheap casing and...
I don't want to go any older than the i series. I really like the idea of a 2nd generation i5 or i7. Thanks though.
Whats everyones opinion on Sagers? One quick Google yielded horrible reviews. That one posted above is definitely the best for the money, but that may also mean its cheap.
I was about to buy this one but it says Pre-Order? I configured it and it came out to like $912 shipped then $30 if I pay in cash so its only like $880. Not too bad.
I agree, for what I'm doing a $800 laptop will be fine. I only game once a week max for like an hour. It will mainly be used for business/school on the road and a little bit of gaming.
I checked out the G73JH and it fits every criteria except for its size. Its a 17" which is a little too big for me to carry around. I've kinda ruled out my initial choice since I want a more powerful video card than the HD5650. So I'm not sure which one to get?
Thanks for the help! I'm mainly looking for all black. I have a i7 in my desktop and I love it so I figured I'd get an i5 in the laptop. I do like the better video card and faster harddrive in that one though. Wish I could find it in all black.
Are Lenovo's any good? I found this...
I'm looking for a budget laptop to do work on the work and occasionally game. I would like to play TF2 and possibly bad company 2 (might be asking too much for bc2). My budget is around $800. I searched around newegg and this one seemed to stand out...
