Engine will not go above 5000 RPM.

2010 thread yes I know but I'm running a 168k 95' accord ex f22b1 vtec. This engine has tons of power from 0-4 grand and above 4 the timing changes, putting you more into the seat. Then finally after 4,900rpm, it engages high lift profile on the intake side only hints sohc. Although my...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

Yeah sourcing a replacement is the problem right knowing if they are a legit professional company with excellent competitive pricing under $100 hopefully. I could pick a new 480 up for like $50-75 If I get the right offer or auction. This 480 I paid $35 for and originally had artifacting...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

Well small update picked up longer screws but it didn't matter. I actually found out how to get unreal temps with the non adhesive graphite pad. The pad is extremely thin like as thin as a piece of paper maybe thinner. It's super cheap too a huge 18"x18" sheet is like $7 with shipping $15...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

Thanks yeah I think the real issue now is the shim width needs to be precise and paste needs to be used between the diode and shim and probably between the shim and heatsink. Since we need a gap so tight a 0.5mm pad is too great. I ordered again 1.25" x 1.25" which is pretty close to the...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

I just re-did it again looking at 95C within 30 seconds. This is getting aggrivating. I think the diode requires paste because a pad can't hold the insane heat coming off the 480 diode even at 950mv and 607mhz.

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

Thanks man. I have been testing different materials over a period of time now. I ran into Digikey and started testing some stuff I thought was going to blow away all the Silicone material I test from Bergquist, Chooyu Chemical Co Ltd, and Fujipoly. Come to find out the Graphite did great on...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

Tgon™ 800 Series - I feel that Z Axis is false advertising... The performance when stacking is pretty bad it seems to cut it equally per stack meaning 5w to 2.5w to 0w... Seriously if u stack 3 of them you get 0% thermal transfer 100% Nothing transfers... I haven't tested the T62 Series...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

Nice heres a little comparison showing how the 5300Mhz CPU clearly outperforms a 2926Mhz CPU ... 900Mhz 580 vs 1010Mhz 480 clearly beating quite a bit lol... I ran it on a stable system not trying to get high scores... The stretch above 900Mhz on the 580 requires more watts than fps gains...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

I don't think that benchmark is very accurate. Since my 580 score 10.50 giga pixel's at 900mhz and the test is only 1 Second long... I could clock it easily to 1025Mhz for a stable 1 Second long benchmark... Compute performance is a fairly accurate indicator of a stronger performer... Even...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

After further investigation the gpu diode is not flat AT ALL. It only contacts around the edges of the chip about 1/1000th of a millimeter of contact. So I need to LAP the stupid GPU diode... Wow

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

I mean has anyone been able to run a 480 at 900 Mega Hertz on the stock cooler? It's a matter of keeping the temps from going up. On the 480 at the volts required for 900Mhz operation it is stable per-say until the temps exceed 88C on 100% fan and temps continue to rise. That's on 5 Watts...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

Just a small update. I ordered the parts I needed to get this working and took it to the next level. As we know Fujipoly 17w/m K pads are $150 for like 8"x8" piece. I am going to run Graphite one-sided ahesive on the VRM's, and Ram at 240 Watts Per Meter Kelvin conductivity. Since double...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

Thanks guys! I just got in some of the best thermal material on the planet at 240w/m K. It's so conductive you can hold the material and cut through ice like butter. Anyway I used it on my other systems cpu and saw 25C reductions instantly. Idling at 20C and the load to idle time is like 1ms...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

@lavaheadache @MongGrel Thanks guys. What would you guys do and can you explain the epoxy? Glass epoxy sheet in replacement of the IHS and copper Shim? Wouldn't the glass expoxy require a high thermal conductivity rating? I stopped using paste because of it's inconsistent low performance...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

*Update* Got the shims in and used the thickest 1.2mm i believe and the temps are still getting way out of hand in a hurry. I have a 17w/m K 0.5mm pad on the die, the shim (which is about 3mm smaller squared than the die) and another 17w/m K 0.5mm pad on top of the shim sitting tightly on the...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

Thanks guys I bought an assorted of shims... I guess they say the die is 529mm *2 which is converted to 0.8" basically squared so I picked up 20mm which is 0.787" Squared. I can't seem to pull off the pressure to get the temps in order with the stock screws... Another thing is the IHS is...

Can we get a masssive Delidded thread going again?

I'm very interested in delidding vga cards among all the generations gtx 400, 500, 600, 700, 900 and beyond. Right now my 480's IHS fell off and now I can't get decent temps using the stock cooler. I even used high dollar 17w/m K fujipoly between the die, ihs, heatsink but I think pressure is...

Delidded my GTX460...[update 9/18] results are in!

Hi I was checking out your delidding thread and I was curious if you have been brave enough to have a solution for stock 480 cooler to Core Die? My IHS came off and I used 17w/m K fujipoly pad 0.5mm between the die ihs and heatsink and temps among pressure may be lacking. I'd like to mount...

Delidded my i7-3770K, loaded temperatures drop by 20°C at 4.7GHz

It will actually run cool without that part on the cpu. If you do a bit of testing, it yields in the neighborhood of 20C at times. Since the diode is directly connected to the heatsink so thermal conductivity is much greater this way. It's actually more like a laptop cpu, as the diode is...

HD3850 (AGP) on Socket A and Socket 939

Can you post the 3dmark03 details page on the 3800+ x2 system? I got 24,040 points on 3dmark03 on the HD4670 AGP. 3dmark03 apparently only hits on 1 thread. Since I'm running two 3Ghz Intel Xeon's with around 5MB of cache per cpu, and 4GB of ram. The Intel Xeon's I'm running have...

Socket 603 Xeon MP [Now with benchmarks]

Neat thread! I have a Dell 530 and I wanna throw in the SL79V! Mine has dual 2.2Ghz prestonia's. Able to pull off 720p on the 2.2ghz prestonia's at 70% utilization. Without hyperthreading it's continuously tacked at 100% all day. Hyperthreading yields about 30% of utilization overhead in...

The NZXT 200mm 166 CFM Fan

I upgraded my custom lian li pc-v354 with that 166cfm nzxt from an antec big boy. The nzxt is twice as loud as the antec but cools my gpu's in sli about 5C cooler than the antec. The antec is better as an exhaust because it gulps up a higher volume of air at less velocity, perfect for exhaust...

ASUS A8R-MX/SI Original None AH1 bios file needed

I have this ASUS A8R-MX/SI and the original bios wasn't the ah1 type bios with overclocking etc. I installed the ah1 bios and in windows 7 I'm getting tons of BSODs of Clock Interrupts on secondary processor. I ran Memtest for 24 hours, and cpu stress test for 24 hours. But right as soon as I...

Examining the GTX 470 & 480 Cooler Designs

This is cool. I was thinking the heatsink design could be a lot better and there is room. They just took the cheap route. Not only is the card too hot but the stock 400 series fan profile is terrible. I'm working on moding my 470 cooler/ heatsink. The issue is the metal part of the heatsink...

Delidded my i7-3770K, loaded temperatures drop by 20°C at 4.7GHz

lol i would totally do that but i just removed it yesterday and cleaned everything and applied a super thin layer to the cpu and gpu and used a shim on the gpu. The shim dropped the temps on the gpu by 1-2C not much but it's something. The cpu hits 85C+ and when I ran intel burn test right...

Delidded my i7-3770K, loaded temperatures drop by 20°C at 4.7GHz

Yeah there's a gap because I can't tighten it down enough to get good contact like I can on the gpu for some reason... It's quite annoying and a shim would help it a lot. What's the exact dimensions of a 216mm2 die size? Like H-W-L in millimeters? I found a guy who will cut one for me...

So where can we find a 216 mm2 copper shim? I need to get some better cooling out of my 2720qm which in turbo boost at 3Ghz. I pulled the blue pin from the fan so it runs at 4,700rpm continuously and runs a lot cooler than stock. However contact is poor and temps almost hit 90C while in...

More pics please! Do you think you could budge a 9.5" GTX470 in there with that lower hard drive bay installed? Oh yeah how well does air flow past the hard drives on to the video cards/ motherboard? I have some Scythe Slipstream 1900rpm 120MM fans that flow 110CFM. Hopefully they will be...
