Xone live gold downsides aside (it will change with time imo, virtually free eventually doing the jeff bezsos :)) XBO wants to be the complete HT media center matched with the proverbial win7/8 homepc etc...something windows media center/player never quite achieved.
Q, how is Xone interacting...
Small update, once I turned off anti-aliasing and lowered a few options the game looked and is playing quite well..some would say very reasonable considering the HD4000 is not a monster graphics card ;) as others mentioned it's more cpu intensive and the IB/HD4000 alone see quite capable ..this...
But it's a i7 3770..could CIV V be choking it down, you'd think it more then capabile..Civ V is a mature game but it's possible running it via Steam might be a problem..I'm not exactly sure how it all works since this is the first game without an actual install CD, everything installed via the...
I agree...marketing is always trying to get ya to *upgrade beyond what you'll ever really need.. just to sell product. I've noticed in the last few years you can find cards with several gig of memory but the bit rates have declined..256bit seems to be the high end now not the venerable 512bit...
It plays and actually quite fair until 250 turns or so then you really see the slowdownsm until I put a full vid card in I'll attempt to continue at the lower settings..it's turned into a quite usefull onchip gpu this HD4000 and I almost began thinking it 'no card needed' syndrome' it's quite...
I'm near 300 turns in a Civilization V so there is allot of onchip gpu usage, I've noticed a significant slowdown in the game and today a freeze up even after turning the game video to medium setting from high and since I only have the i7 gpu Intel HD 4000 gpu currently could Civ V need a...
You've posted this message in several threads today which really is not done here and a good way to get on the bad side of the wrong people. I suggest you'll find your problem is driver related just as Intel says in their community forums.
Be sure and use the Intel Communities for this board..seems to not be a common issue but they do have some answers it seems:

Thanks for the update, it always helps someone here and isn't that why we come to Anandtech. I'm betting you'll enjoy the whole Intel Extreme experience or at least I have. Although there seems to compareitive few issues with the Extreme series I hope ppl like Dislikeyou finds his issue..he's so...
Sounds like you've suffered, Intel offers virtually all generic drivers from what I've found..your issues basically apply to all mobo issues and happens to 'some' builders...just not many here since they know how to navigate Intel. ;)
.
In the past I usually only considered the Intel boards for mission critical work and always have gotten solid performance from the WS boards.. after reading so many excellent reviews on this Intel Extreme series though I have not been at all disappointed. As DisLikeyou mentioned, the big picture...
The Intel Extreme series is well equipped..wifi,BT and oodles of the usual Intel onboard board status LEDs, the latest firmware make it a major player at this level. When I first heard Intel was going to build an Extreme edition and always knowing their high quality build..I ordered this...
Thanks for the manufacturer data, Intel said the Boxdz77ga70k and 75k are made in Taiwan at Foxcomm in their high-end white room. I linked to an early review (8.70 out of 10 score) at:

Trashing a company using monster fonts like an adolescent then totally abandoning your thread is an excellent way to get attention on Anandtech?
He'll likely be blocked by most regular members if not by the board itself.
Now, you've got some information which serves a real purpose so he got...

You misread me..I said nothing against Japanese parts as a matter of fact if I could order a mobo made there you can bet it would be on the top of my short list simply because they are highly experienced in microelectronics just as the Taiwanese and basically so is the US, check the...
I read on PCPER you can have 16 phase boards which totally suck and 4 phase boards that are rock solid.
Some boards brag about using Japanese parts for marketing purposes but when you look at the board itself and it was made in China, not Taiwan! which totally negates any parts made from Japan...
Has anyone noticed the OP started the thread with childlike caps against MSI then totally abandoned his thread. They have a name for people who do that and they usually get blocked not bricked.
With so few choices today and looking at the real bottom line since we're spending a nice chunk of cash on these..build quality and support are the real priorities.. not color or gimmicks like armor covering or even features such as wifi which this board has-- I mean what builder doesn't have a...
I also noticed it lacked a few bells such as only HDMI vid out but seemed to excel in areas that count and which long time members here appreciate..quality build/long life. A board purpose built/intel designed for Ivy Bridge and using the new Visual BIOS for power users makes the BOX-D a very...
I realize the new Intel Intel BOXDZ77GA70K is very new but it certainly deserves a slot near or at the top of the high-end boards if for no other reason then it meets Intel's very high build criteria and adds to the mix.
I found a fairly good review but would still like to see it in a roundup...
Intel boards go thru a much deeper testing process simply because Intel demands it, they don't like getting trashed on the net :)
their mobo's especially today are more chipset oriented then ever and yes they can be more costly but they demand a higher standard from their manufacturer ( foxcomm...
Thanks Jack,,I'll look at Acronis since I think they also have a trail version as my older version does not have this capability and can't be updated, I actually switched to a cloud backup.
Xeon is sweet but out of my world/network. :)
Yes, I misspoke and knew it was the SB-E..the IB-E would be a natural step but maybe intel is thinking otherwise?
just thinkin....
I keep reading allot of reviews on the 2011 in the Euro tech sites not here...do they know something we don't on the future of that chipset with Intel plus..already a powerful chipset are they getting ready for the Extreme edition next?
I've got a fairly new laptop with 2nd gen SB cpu and ssd but I needed to call MS and get help (which they gave surprisingly) converting an upgrade version of win7pro to a full version,I originally had a reg version Vista hense the upgrade w7p anyway I got the right person and he walked me thru...
Support,Support,Support..since there are very few choices nowadays what with Abit, DFI, Supermicro etc etc basically gone..whichever board your decide on, they damn sure better have quality support and frankly... I don't have a clue if any of the few mobo makers left care after the sale.
Make...
Things have changed here over the years..they used to talk infinium about the capacitors, and chips-sets and all the mobo choices, abit, supermicro, dfi on and on..todays gen members are more into colors.
:)
I've read Intel is questioning the ramp up of Haswell so soon especially since the potential of the IB-E keeps improving but my question is..are the X79 2011 early chipset adopters going to have an unusually short lifespan as opposed to the long life of the X58's?
Socket LGA 1150 - Yes, it'll...
At pcper.com, they have no problems OCing the i7 3820 SB-E to 4.63 on only partially unlocked chip..imagine the new IB-E 2011 chips.
IMO, Intel 2011 is just getting started hence my concern on a new build, I just can't seem to talk myself out of the new X79 because of it's future..the early...
X79 is certainly the true replacement for the muscle X58 the previous enthusiast builders choice, the LGA 2011 is Intel's future with massive cache and scalability and I read the Ivy LGA 2011 will have 8 cores and 10 core Xeon LGA 2011's eventually with very possible support for Haswell etc...
It overclocks 4.63 just fine..pcper review:
