    16GB Memory Module

Does anyone know when we will starting having single 16GB memory module? Right now, the max is 8GB per module...well, unless I'm still hiding in the cave and haven't noticed it yet.

Way better than the Pro3 or AE. Thinking of getting one to replace my Z87 Extreme4.

Look what I've got for you freaks out there! No, I didn't buy any. Just took a picture of it. Guess where I found them? Micro Center!

How does Intel justify disabling VT-d with K parts?

OP, not sure if it's every Micro Center, but the one here (Twin Cities/St. Louis Park, MN) has a 15-day return policy on motherboard and CPU. Check on your receipt. It will say whether they allow it or not.

    Is My Motherboard Failing?

Yeap, it may be the board if you don't see any voltage spikes. Also, the whistling noise could be from motherboard's power delivery section, too, unless you hear that it's clearly from the PSU. At this point, I'd say if you have a spare PSU, try it anyway, just to confirm whether it's the...

    Is My Motherboard Failing?

It's when stressed that's what counts. You may want to be in Windows and running hardware monitoring program (can't think of any now, but there are many of them out) while your system is stressed (playing games, running a benchmark, etc...) and watch for voltage spikes. If nothing seems...

    Is My Motherboard Failing?

I'd say check your PSU to make sure all rails (12V, 5V and 3.3V) are consistent. I believe the USB uses the 5V rails (I may be wrong on this) so if it fails or can't provide consistent power then you might experience connection problem. I'd say try a different PSU just for the heck of it...

    ASROCK z87 extreme4

I can't believe it...the manual doesn't have a code guide! How do they expect us to interpret what each code stands for? Do they follow the Asus' code chart? On my manual, page 30 starts the Dutch manual/instructions.

    Haswell build problems...

Did you remember to insert the 12V 4/8 pins (besides the 24-pin)? If yes, and you have tried everything else...well, I had MSI boards (two of them) that acted that way and the sad story was, both were dead. The power distribution section of the board went "poof!" It was history afterward.

    Engineer version CPU

How do you know it's ES? Usually ES CPUs have a distinct mark (some kind of code) that is different from the production ones. I may be wrong, but the SLA9U indicates it's a production one.

    Problem with GA-X79 UPS

Is that a brand new build? If clear the BIOS doesn't work, I would say it's a bad mobo. I've had mobo doing that to me before and it was the problem with the mosfets or the power distribution caps.

Retiring Asus Z68 MB....what to upgrade to

You can still get decent price for your 2600K, so sell it and that will help fund your Z87 and i7 4770K combo. If you live near a Micro Center, it'll be even better!

How do you acquire your good overclocking CPU?

If there are ten rounds of drawing with 99 prices to give away in each round (that's 990 total prices), and there are only 100 people participating in each round (1,000 total all ten rounds), I will still be the one that won't win anything in all ten rounds. The result would still be the same...

    Which i3/i5 to Get?

That deal happened November 19-22, if my memory serves me correctly. For three days only, I think. I've binned a few 4770K (never a 4670K) and some were terrible. Non can reach the IB of 5Ghz or higher. Others from various forums came across some that can reach 4.8Ghz-5Ghz but they require...

    Which i3/i5 to Get?

;) Sorry to make you sad. :( If my memory doesn't lie to me, I remember reading somewhere or saw some kind of OCing database, the 4670K seems to OC better than the 4770K. A search around, pariticularly at XS.Org and Overclocking.net may tell you something.

    Which i3/i5 to Get?

So, what did you end up getting? I recommend the 4670K as well. Had you checked MC's like five weeks ago, you would have jumped on the Haswell 4770K for $199.99 plus $40 off any board. It's too late now. Hope they will run another deal like that in the future.

Ugh, Microcenter bait-and-switch on Asus Z87-A for $118 instore

We have open box for $103.96 in the Twin Cities area. Let me know if you want me to grab you one. Some open box items are like new condition. I certainly have to go in there and check out the accessories, etc, but I've bought a few open box items before and they worked out good. In fact, I...

Asus P8Z77-V : Front panel USB3.0 ports disconnect and reconnect every few minutes

I wonder if you can try a flash drive (not HD/SSD) and see if you can replicate the problem. It seems the 5V wire doesn't hold, or something. When it loses the 5V for whatever reason, the drive has no power so it acts like it's disconnected. That's my belief. It could be something completely...

Asus P8Z77-V : Front panel USB3.0 ports disconnect and reconnect every few minutes

I am experiencing this same issue on whatever USB 3.0 capable motherboards I have come across. Basically, all of them. The front USB 3.0 ports are acting the same way. They have been on a few different cases, too, so case quality isn't the problem. I've narrowed it down to signal strength on...

Yeah, definitely get a better/more wattage PSU. 750W is sufficient, not overkill.

4770k OC and intel processor replacement

FYI: Intel won't guarantee against overclocking. If it's stable at stock speed (Linus, Windows, etc...), Intel won't replace it.

    sli 670 or 1x 770 ?

Even two GTX 660s (not even Ti) in SLI will outperform a GTX 770 and neck&neck with a GTX 780 (and maybe even Titan?) So, yes, two 670s will be much faster than a 770.

I don't think Newegg will replace a "working at spec" CPU. They won't replace anything is not defected.

    Bizarre dog-slow SSD

You may need to update the firmware of the SSD as there may be an issue/glitch with the components being compatible with each other. I know for a fact SandForce 1xxx SSDs have compatibility issue with Z87 boards. Maybe (just saying) your SSD is having the same issue with Z77 board. Whatever...

GTX 770: Bad experience so far...

You are correct that the original 320.18 didn't support the 770. If you re-download it now, supposedly they put a new 320.18 out there that now supports 770. You should try it.

GTX 770: Bad experience so far...

I downloaded version 320.18 a week before just because I was using it on my GTX 460. To be honest, I wasn't even expect the GTX 770 to release until July (I was sort of uninformed up to this point). I was surprise to see it available and had to somehow come up with the fund for it by whatever...

    Mobo recall...

I know this question is about the Z87 chipset, but anyone knows if mobo makers would recall their mobos when Intel has the newer chipset that fixes the sleep/wake-up problem that was reported? Probably more like the P67 recall? If they don't recall the Z87 board, I don't think I want to jump...

GTX 770: Bad experience so far...

Yeah, unfortunately they did. So if you downloaded the 320.18 driver when it first came out, it wouldn't have 770 support yet. And that was my problem. Download it again and it will have the support for the 770. You tell me...

GTX 770: Bad experience so far...

Thanks for this post! That was the problem. I downloaded the 320.18 before they put the support of 770 on it not to mention that it was the "international" version. I redownload the English/latest version and installed it, went right past the checking for compatibility hardware. I was like...
