so it's tax time and i've got a rebate coming. still running an old AGP system as money's been tight the past year or 2. 9800 pro, 2600+, etc.
looking to upgrade and haven't kept too up to date on current hardware.
that being said... the only game i play is WoW. so i don't think i need a...
so tonight i suddenly realized... my ports do NOT show up as open when testing them.
at first i thought my router was starting to die on me or something... but now i'm running straight through my cable modem and i STILL get errors saying these ports are closed.
was specifically noticing...
after being hired after a 2-3 day process for a very nice job where they needed me to come in and replace someone RIGHT away... i've worked for a month and now they've all of a sudden made the decision to now replace me with someone internally. rather than having me here as a contractor...
will be upgrading soon and thinking about throwing in a new PSU while i'm at it.
currently using a (i think) 350w antec psu.
my set up will be...
DFI Lanparty Ultra B nf2
XP-M 2600+ w/slk800 + 80mm sunon
1x512mb stick Twinmos Twister PC3700
Radeon 9800 Pro w/zalman passive cooler...
so i've had a DFI nf2 lanparty board sitting around dead for a while... think i'm finally gonna bite the bullet and pay the $30 to rma it.
currently i'm using a7n8x deluxe board which does pretty much NO overclocking... thus my nice twinmos twister pc3700 has been going to waste. i KNOW that...
i have a user that gets the errors:
Run Time Error '3075'
and
"There was an error executing the command."
when trying to approve requests/run reports in Access 97 run in Windows XP.

BUT... he...

ok... been having a ton of problems recently. realized it was a faulty psu and thought it might have fried the 2 cpu's i'd tried in the system. took both to a local shop and tested them in a system there... retail 2400+ was dead... the 2600+ oem i had been using posted fine.
however... now that...
anyone have any idea if either of the x800 cards will come down in price by next month or so? i have the feeling that with all the demand for these cards and these 2 games FINALLY being released prices aren't gonna drop too much any time soon.
i'd planned on waiting for a bit to pick one of...
the title pretty much says it all.
this computer recently got fried somehow... fried the motherboard and hard drive with some EXTREMELY important information on it. spent about $300 just to recover the data from the drive... now the most important file on there (an access 2002 *.mdb database...
so yeah... installing xp via a boot cd... never had any problems with this system before... installed xp on it before once on one drive... need to install it on a different drive now. all of a sudden it won't even get to the windows install screen... it freezes at the initial "setup is...
