Found a fix for this problem today. I tried re-installing a number of drivers, ones that came with the pc originally and ones found on amd.
I then tried this beta crimson driver, but still no go.
Started playing around with the settings and changed a setting for the Color Pixel Format...
I have at 60 Hz currently at 1920x1080. Looks like 60 Hz is the only usable option because if I use another rate (and 1920x1200), CCC lowers the resolution by itself.
Couldn't find a way to disable EDID. Scaling doesn't really seem to do anything, except to make the desktop size smaller(scaling @ 10%)/bigger(scaling @ 0%).

There's an option where you can load drivers from the point where windows (vista and 7) asks you where to install. For Xp, you need to press f6, before it starts installing.
Maybe the instructions from asrock's website will help, although it's a different m/b, I think the steps should be similar.
