Why is my A/C not very cold?

I only have one last comment/question on this. if this is so good, so many benefits, why oh why isnt the manufacturer using it, why doesnt the EPA put its stamp of approval on it? I will not accept any conspiracy theories as evidence of why its not being used... if I didnt know...

Why is my A/C not very cold?

number one, cars pwered by propane were retrofitted or built for it. so they have the proper components for saftey. a modern ac system designed for r12 or r134a doesnt. number two.. millions of cars have missing or rotted out heat shields. many ac hoses are routed near exhaust and hot...

Why is my A/C not very cold?

propane?!?!?!?! you are aware that this is EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE! if you have a leak, it will most likely ignite, and if you have a catastrophic leak, like a hose bursting or compressor blowing apart (like the recent fords have done) it will explode under the hood with all the propane in...

    Ball Joints...

    Ball Joints...

there is no one method for checking ball joints, if your car has a macpherson strut style of suspension(coil spring around the strut), the tires need to hang in order to properly diagnose the ball joints... if it has the coil spring between the lower control arm and frame, then the lower...

Would this oil consumption notice worry you?

this is actually not true....the tolerances in todays engines are actually tighter than ever, it is less friction that is the key to more horsepower and better mileage. this is why todays oils are so much better on the molecular level than oils your dad and his dad. Mobil One is not what alot...

Would this oil consumption notice worry you?

late model chryslers are notorious for this high oil consumption at highway speeds...it all goes back to the low tension piston rings, especially the oil control ring...all made low tension to combat friction and raise miles per gallon... they havent figured out the balance yet..the dealerships...

    Rear noise in JGC 2000...

the noise you are hearing is caused be the ring and pinion gears, they wear terrible on the jeeps the big tipoff is that it changes under acceleration and deceleration. i have 2 differentials in the shop now doing exactly that, one is a 35th anniversary edition camaro and the other is a 03...

JCH13 - Turbo Miata Rehab Thread

think about this...if there are metal shards albiet small, they can cut the paper element in the oil filter and pass by, not only that, if there is enough in it to cause a restriction, the oil filter has a bypass valve that will open up and allow full unfiltered oil flow thru the engine :)

Is there a way, or does it already exist, to keep a new user form posting right away after an account creation? Several forums I visit have a policy where you sign up and have to be approved by a MOD before you can post. It seems to me that this would be an easy way to keep trolls like...

whats the point of more than 4gb on a 32bit system?

I have built systems for many years and have never installed more than 4gb on any system that was a 32bit setup..(Vista and 7) and no more than 2gb on 32bit XP. I am seeing alot of times where people put 6 and 8GB on 32bit vista and 7 and then say how much faster it was than with just 4gb. I...

Slow leaking flat on tires w/ 29k miles

That is dangerous as hell, the patch has NO cords for reinforcment of the tire sidewall! those slits opened up like that due to the cords (read sidewall support) being cut. Doing that runs a very real danger of blowouts! you got extremely lucky....certainly not something I would want to...

Slow leaking flat on tires w/ 29k miles

tires cant be repaired within 3/4 of an inch of the sidewall for good reason...thats where the steel belts stop and the sidewall plies begin. the other thing is that a plug is a temporary stopgap repair. NO tire manufacturer approves plugs for permanent repairs in any of their tires, period...

Tools for front brake job on an '05 Silverado?

look, if the factory had locktite on the bolts, it was there for a reason. re-apply locktite to bolts that have it, secondly, a torque wrench is never a bad idea. Our shop requires us to use a torque wrench on practically everything. We do it to keep everything just as the manufacturer had it...

Not sure what's causing these brake issues I'm having...

its called low speed ABS activation..usually caused by a mis-reporting sensor due to rust building up under the sensor mounting face. It can also be caused by a cracked tone ring. remove the sensor, clean the mounting face of the spindle and sensor on both front wheels and inspect the tone rings...

Brakes on an older Expedition - cost question

In the rust belt where I live, the rotors will be hell to get off, the clearance between the outer edge of the hub and the inside edge of the rotor hat is very tight, a little rust and you have a nasty job.
