    Windows 7 Driver question

I'm in the process now of backing up files to reformat and reinstall Windows 7 on my computer, as I gather drivers I'm trying to find the correct chipset driver for my motherboard. Would this be it? http://www.msi.com/product/mb/K9N6PGM2-V2.html#/?div=Driver I'm hoping it's this simple, I've...

    Quiet heatsink/fan for Phenom II x4 945?

My Hyper 212+ came today, it took an hour of work trying to install it without the instructions since they made little sense to me. I'm impressed with how quiet it is. My Antec 300 case has an exhaust fan directly to the left of my heatsink so the fan on the heatsink is blowing straight toward...

    Quiet heatsink/fan for Phenom II x4 945?

    1) I have the 95w version of that CPU, not the 125w one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-809-_-Product 2) My temps are just fine but the sound of the stock AMD fan is rather annoying so that's why I'm replacing it. I've been looking at the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 as well, $20 on...

    Quiet heatsink/fan for Phenom II x4 945?

As best as I can tell the Hyper 212+ will fit on my motherboard and the fan on it should just barely clear my RAM. Will the one fan be fine or will I need to pick up a second one? I have an Antec 300 case with a top exhaust directly over the CPU and one directly to the right of it and I'm not...

    Memtest error is confusing me

I spent a good amount of time trying to find a second Apacer 2GB stick online and couldn't find one that was an exact match, the ADATA one was the closest I could find at the time. Originally this computer came with 1GB Kingston and 2GB Apacer RAM, I didn't have any issues with that setup and...

    Memtest error is confusing me

HWMonitor lists the following voltages: +3.3v CPU VCORE VIN1 VIN2 +5v +12v VSB3V VBAT I don't know which of these would be the northbridge one. In my BIOS all it tells me is that it's set to auto, it doesn't tell me anything else.

    Memtest error is confusing me

That's set to auto as well, but I don't know what to set it to and I haven't had much luck with google on that.

    Memtest error is confusing me

I manually set RAM voltage to 1.805v, closest to 1.8v my BIOS has, and memtest made it 10 hours without an error before I quit it and restarted. I'm wondering if perhaps my RAM wasn't getting enough or too much voltage while on auto.

I have 2 RAM slots, I tested one stick in the first slot and the second stick in the second slot.

    Memtest error is confusing me

I ran memtest yesterday and after about two hours I got an error. I went about testing each stick of RAM separately allowing memtest to run for 12+ hours straight on each stick, which is about the maximum amount of time I could really afford, and during each test I received 0 errors. What would...

Two Win7 64bit blue screens in one week

I don't know, and I don't really want to find out at this immediate moment. I just received my replacement PSU and I'd like to watch it for the next few days to make sure it doesn't go bad like my first one. I could start it up early in the day and let it go through the day but I don't feel...

Two Win7 64bit blue screens in one week

I ran memtest twice today, one for two passes (until the power in most of my city went out) and another after the city's power came back on for one pass and neither showed errors. After the first BSOD I ran memtest for two passes with success as well. My BIOS is up to date, I've run Windows...

Two Win7 64bit blue screens in one week

In the past two weeks I've had two blue screen crashes in Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and I'm wondering how to resolve them. I've uploaded the dump files here http://hostmine.us/rking/download.php, 91510.zip and 092110.zip from the list, but I don't know what anything in them means so I'm...

XFX 650w PSU making clicking noise

I sent in my PSU to XFX and they've determined it's faulty, although that's all I've gotten so far. Hopefully I get my replacement sometime soon. Do I get my PSU repaired, a new one, or just a refurbished replacement?

    Antec 300 power supply placement

I mentioned in a previous post, post #4 of this topic, that I put a side window in.

    Antec 300 power supply placement

It'd look better if the hardwired cables weren't on the nearside, it'd be easier to tuck the unused ones up along the backside of the drive bays.

    Antec 300 power supply placement

I thought the fan in the PSU acted as an intake and wouldn't be blowing air inside the case, I feel air blowing out the back of it anyway. Regardless, it's not motherboard heat I'm worried about but I am wondering if having the fan on the PSU facing toward the bottom of the case will cause...

    Antec 300 power supply placement

I do have a 120mm fan on the bottom front of the case, yes. I put a side window in my case so I don't have the side intake fan anymore, on an unrelated note my temps seem 2c-5c better without it, so I don't know if that would impact airflow as far as the PSU is concerned.

    Antec 300 power supply placement

I have an Antec 300 case and there's no vents in the bottom so I have the PSU fan pointing up, this causes the attached wires on the PSU to be on the wrong side cluttering things up. http://i528.photobucket.com/albums/dd325/rking_1_1/morewires.jpg It's an old picture, I currently have a 5770...

    Quiet heatsink/fan for Phenom II x4 945?

I only have two RAM slots so that wouldn't work. I can't afford to buy the heatsink/fan and find out it doesn't fit so I'm not sure I'd want to try that one.

    Quiet heatsink/fan for Phenom II x4 945?

Might there be something smaller? I'm not sure that'll fit on my motherboard, an MSI-K9N6PGM2-V2, it looks like a line of capacitors would get in the way.

    Quiet heatsink/fan for Phenom II x4 945?

I have a stock AMD heatsink/fan currently and it's the loudest fan in my computer, and very distracting while watching movies or gaming. For a budget of $30-$40 what would be the quietest thing I can find for my CPU?

    Is my CPU bad/dead/whatever?

I was able to get about 4 hours worth of gameplay in today with only one error which happened when I tried launching a second instance of the game, it looks like manually setting the voltage to 1.325v worked. Thanks for the help, it's appreciated.

    Is my CPU bad/dead/whatever?

With the CPU voltage set to 1.325v, Cool'n'Quiet disabled, and everything else on auto I was able to play Borderlands for 3 hours without issue.

    Is my CPU bad/dead/whatever?

I removed my heatsink and took a look at my CPU, it is this one: http://products.amd.com/en-us/DesktopCPUDetail.aspx?id=619 which is a 95w CPU. I ran memtest with the voltage manually set to 1.325v and it went through without an error.

    Is my CPU bad/dead/whatever?

I ran memtest with everything set to auto before I started any of the above listed steps and it made it through the tests without errors. I'll do it again with the voltage set manually to 1.325v (as high as my BIOS goes) in a moment. My motherboard supports up to 95w CPUs including the CPU...

    Is my CPU bad/dead/whatever?

I recently upgraded from an Athlon x2 5000+ 2.2ghz CPU to a Phenom II x4 945 and since doing so I've had stability issues in Prime95 and Borderlands, and possibly other areas that I may not have noticed. System specs that should be relevant: MSI K9N6PGM2-V2 Phenom II x4 945 XFX HD 5770 4 GB...

95w CPU at 100.7w under load

I just hit 2 hours with Prime95, I checked Speedfan and it reports the following temps: Temp 1 - 49c Temp 2 - 37c Temp 3 - -128c (I don't know what this is but it's always shown up as -128c ever since I got this computer) Core - 45c Since it's been running at the same temp for 2 hours and...

95w CPU at 100.7w under load

I've been having issues with Borderlands ever since upgrading my CPU, I tried reinstalling Windows and Steam/Borderlands and neither did any good. XFX 650w PSU making clicking noise

I've noticed ever since installing my PSU, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817207002, there's been a clicking noise coming from the PSU. 95w CPU at 100.7w under load

Intel states your CPU at 130w max at the stock speed so that doesn't sound right, no. My computer runs just fine otherwise, I'm just paranoid about this sort of thing since (to me) the CPU was a very large purchase and I'd hate for something to happen to it because of an incorrect setting or...

95w CPU at 100.7w under load

In the BIOS it said it was at 1.325v while set to auto, I have to reduce it to 1.25v in order to hit 95w in HWMonitor. AMD states the CPU works between .80v-1.40v, http://products.amd.com/en-gb/DesktopCPUDetail.aspx?id=619, so leaving it at 1.25v shouldn't cause a problem would it? Would I need...

95w CPU at 100.7w under load

I installed a Phenom II x4 945 95w CPU in my MSI K9N6PGM2-V2 board. My motherboard's compatibility list says the 945 is supported and my BIOS version supports the CPU as well. Running HWMonitor I'm told that under load it uses 100.7w and 27.3w at idle, and my motherboard supports only up to 95w...
