Vega FE in hand - info source

It has 1/16 from what AMD was saying, although I only found this mentioned here: http://techreport.com/news/32163/updated-radeon-vega-frontier-edition-launches-today-for-999-and-up Don't know where they got that from as I didn't have time to look it up. Seems fairly low to me, I'm willing to...

Vega FE in hand - info source

There's no straight answer to this, but the best shot would be saying that it's compute pipeline and massive memory makes it more suitable for deep learning. I'm personally not an expert in GPU architecture and deep learning although am deeply interested and fascinated by both. Vega FE is a...

    Who's getting a 1080ti?

Complaints about EVGA? Maybe SC2 or Gaming Black, I have the FTW3 and visited someone with a Strix... couldn't tell the difference at matched RPM, honestly dead silent both of them under ultra-wide 1440p load. MSI does have a really quiet card as well!

    Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-17.9.2

I don't even think they need to promote CF anymore at this point, it's been theirs and present for the past decade or more, and with Infinity Fabric voodoo going on it's kind of implicitly there, albeit far more relevant for production environments than gaming. Releasing at least 2x CF was...

    Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-17.9.2

I wouldn't kick the multi-cf design yet and I don't know where you got the "moving away from bridge-less". Nothing on Vega, nothing on others. I think more than 2x in a single system will sky-rocket power use, that's not to say they should limit at 2x Vega in CF. It's just a matter of splitting...

probably going to sound a bit overkill for you, but something I do to quickly troubleshoot these kinds of issues and tell if it's software or hardware is I always have a Win7, Win10 and Linux live USB sticks, all three fairly high performers USB3.0 like SanDisk extreme series. Also use something...

    Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-17.9.1

Ah, man I really wish I could help but I have the FE with shitty drivers anyway (17.6). I can give it a shot and see where it lands but I can't promise soon, I maxed out my games budget for this month :(

You can find previous drivers here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/previous?os=Windows%2010%20-%2064 Afterburner here: https://www.guru3d.com/files-get/msi-afterburner-beta-download,30.html - if the beta doesn't work, look for 4.3.0 instead, although 4.4.0 Beta 12 should be fine...

    Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-17.9.1

I would stick to using WattMan, WattTool or Afterburner. I know in theory they all do the same thing but I have found them to be a fairly consistent combination of tools. Also the latest drivers are not really meant to bring any upgrades for previous generations, but focused on Vega, if this...

    Vega Liquid Cooled Bios anyone?

Heh, thanks, tried looking everywhere but I'm starting to get a feeling that's not happening... Well, at least I realised I'm not capped to 1.2V out of the box... not that I'd want to turn my PC into a £3000 barbecue, but there is definitely headroom there :)

    Vega Liquid Cooled Bios anyone?

As the title says, does anyone have a LC Vega FE bios to send through? Would be immensly appreciated! I can't find it anywhere online... Cheers!

    Who's getting a 1080ti?

In the end I kinda stretched financially and got a Frontier Edition as well, but you know what the strange part is? Despite all the problems I've had so far, despite the botched launch, I've realised something. I am genuinely interested in Vega... The 1080Ti FTW3 is straight-forward, plug in, no...

    Who's getting a 1080ti?

I don't know, NZXT is a mixed bag. Cool design but pump and rad are identical for ALL AIOs and actually I currently have NZXT fans on the Corsair AIO and it's great. Here's a pic: All that makes a difference is assembly quality, sorry to hear you're not so happy with yours. And don't take...

Vega FE in hand - info source

Not many people seem to care about the FE anymore, so I'm going to leave some words here for those that do, either in the forum or externally. I honestly don't care if this thread gets locked after this opinion expose'. Also, before calling me an AMD fanboy or whatever you want, you should...

    Who's getting a 1080ti?

Niiice! Yes, superposition is single-gpu. Unigine in general is single-gpu as far as I know, it's used to stress-test overclocks. You wouldn't really use dual OC cards because of silicon lottery :) (at which I drew a brown straw, only squeezed 25Mhz stable on top of factory OC, but memory goes...

Vega FE in hand - info source

A new set of drivers should be out on the 13th this month, with the launch of WX9100 and SSG. Maybe then it will make a difference. I know a few people in the same pot as us, basically wanting their FE to shred charts but having absolutely shite driver support. Give it a few weeks until new...

Vega refresh - Expected? How might it look?

To quote Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory: "If IFs and BUTs were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry christmas..." :) We should really focus on bringing clarity to what is on the table rather than building any further speculation. Volta will shatter Vega's pinky-sized gamer market grasp...

Vega FE in hand - info source

Apologies for taking so long to respond, but there's a good reason for that. Vega FE seems to be in a bit of a limbo at the moment in terms of drivers, and I am unable to get consistent results because I was limited to the inaugural 17.6 driver. Beta driver 17.8.2 for FE was bugged to hell so I...

AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 and 56 Reviews [*UPDATED* Aug 28]

Oddly enough OcUK have some of the "lower" prices on AMD. UK is dodgy in terms of business environment regardless of area of activity, but I digress, that's a different issue. Who's getting a 1080ti?

That's not a bad score for Fury X considering it is slightly older and a respectable card! My 1080Ti FTW3 got 5600 out of the box, had to push it to 6207. To make things fun, although not necessarily fair, my Vega FE just came in today so I'll play around with it and see what I can milk out of...

My H115i pump makes more noise... then again, card runs freakin' passively right up until it hits serious load! Your strix has beefier cooling, I just wanted to keep to 2-slot for airflow reasons, to try and keep as much distance between the cards (when the 2nd one goes in). As for the...

    Who's getting a 1080ti?

A lot of people waited on Vega... I got the 1080ti FTW3 in the end, and will gladly buy the second one to put the final nail in the productivity coffin, I hardly even need a single one for gaming, only do 1080p at 75hz (hopefully 2x Ultra-wides 1440p 100hz in the near future) and that's...

    Who's getting a 1080ti?

I think the hype was a bit misinterpreted for vega, it was never supposed to compete with 1080ti, but it does have a few drawbacks and the driver is still crap. It will get better for sure but for now it's plain bad. I will be getting a Vega 64 or FE though but not for gaming.

    Who's getting a 1080ti?

Even if it's a 144hz 1440p screen, this card is so massively overpowered that it won't be a problem. Also on water you have shit tons of overhead for OC. My FTW3 only goes as far as 2025MHz gpu but 6250MHz on memory, that's +750 from base which is really good. Enjoy! Post some results, do a...

AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 and 56 Reviews [*UPDATED* Aug 28]

Ok, apart from bashing this line-up, if we are disregarding the insufficient cooling (to which there are solutions) and the rather high power draw (again, this can be tweaked as we've all seen). AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 and 56 Reviews [*UPDATED* Aug 28]

Interesting... having 1/3 of the cooler overhung would alleviate choking in a crossfire setup. Although probably only gain 3-4C compared to 2 fans. See 1080Ti SC2 vs FTW3... 2 vs 3 fans. Speaking of FTW3, as an owner of one, I have to say it's a beast, but the raw compute power of Vega tickles...
