High pitched whine from headphones (EMI?)

Everything's secure and clean as far as I know. I cleaned everything as I moved from the old mobo to the new one, and have reseated the card a few times as well. All that stuff should be good, which is kind of why I immediately jumped to EMI conclusion myself. Like I said in the first post...

    I have, didn't make a difference.

High pitched whine from headphones (EMI?)

The soundcard was in the previous system, same OS (win7). When I upgraded about a month ago I went from Asus P7P55D PRO/i5-750/Corsair HX520 to Gigabyte GA-Z87P-D3/i5 4670K/Corsair RM 650. Everything else stayed the same.

High pitched whine from headphones (EMI?)

Nope. I should also mention that I didn't have this problem on my previous mobo (P7P55D PRO). I upgraded my mobo/cpu combo to my current setup about a month ago, and after that I noticed this.

High pitched whine from headphones (EMI?)

Hey guys. I have this problem that when I do anything that uses gpu hardware acceleration (games, video editing, whatever), I get this high pitched whine on my headphones. The headphones are hooked on the back of the system to Xonar DG soundcard, frontpanel audio isn't hooked up at all...

How are stock Intel boxed coolers these day?

Hey guys. Just grabbed i5 4670K, and while I'm waiting for Noctua to get back to me about their various mounting kit upgrades, I was wondering, how are the stock coolers these days? Loud and inefficient I presume. Depending on if I can use my current mounting kit or not, I either need to...

Upgrade from Corsair HX 520, do I need one?

Alrighty, thanks guys. I'm going to replace the PSU eventually either way since it's the oldest component I have, but it's good to know that it's not an immediate concern.

Upgrade from Corsair HX 520, do I need one?

So basically, I bought a new gpu (GTX760) to replace my old one (R6850), and while it's still on its way from the retailer to me, I started to worry a little about the PSU I'm using. It's almost 5 years old Corsair HX 520, and I'm worried that it's not going to be enough anymore. My system...

Which 3TB drive should I grab?

Hey guys. I need to grab some new HDD's and it's been a while, so I'm a little out of the loop. I googled around a bit and it seemed like when the 3TB Barracudas (1TB per platter) came out, people were a little worried about their lifespan and the shorter warranty. It's been nearly a year...

    catalyst 11.6 released

Anyone else tried Minecraft on these? I seem to be getting complete freezes very frequently on my HD 6850. Same with 11.5. :( 11.4 is the latest one where Minecraft works great.

Wireless mouse with extra button on top?

I don't have a problem with the middle click being behind the wheel, but I might have a problem with its size. That looks quite small. While I was looking at it, the Marathon Mouse M705 started to look more appealing than it was before. Anyone got any experience with that one? The reviews I...

Wireless mouse with extra button on top?

Hello folks. I've been using a Logitech Wireless LX7 for a good while now, but it's getting old and kind of unreliable (it wasn't super reliable as new either), especially the wireless part of it. Here's a pic for reference. So, I'm looking for a new (non-gaming) wireless mouse...

Help me diagnose a strange squealing sound

I figured something out by accident today. It seems that the squeeling starts when the framerate gets really high. Like really really high. In the examples like that Lara Croft game, the framerate as measured by Fraps is well over 1000 during the opening videos and such. Another example, which...

Help me diagnose a strange squealing sound

It's not a fan, I've checked them all. It's not the monitor since it happens even when the monitor is off. I have pinpointed the sound to PSU or right under it, which would be cpu socket etc. I read around the internet that some people have had issues with the p55 chipset causing some PSUs to...

Help me diagnose a strange squealing sound

Well, I changed the gfx card, but the sound persists on the same situations. It seems like it's actually coming from the PSU. It's fine on everyday use, but triggers on some situations. I've been reading up on possibly similar situations here and elsewhere, and I'm wondering, is it possible...

Help me diagnose a strange squealing sound

I don't think it's a fan. It sounds close to the latter part of this video, but not quite. http://blip.tv/file/3959165 Is it possible that something similar is happening? Not necessarily in the PSU like in the video.

Help me diagnose a strange squealing sound

I have this really weird problem with my computer that I just noticed couple days ago. Diagnosing it is a little difficult because I can't say for certain when it started. I also don't really have spare parts to swap out, other than an old gpu that probably still works, but hopefully I don't...

Installing Noctua NH-U12P on my i5-750

I have another Noctua fan on the back of the case which I could move to the cooler for push-pull, I wonder if that would be better than have it as the back fan?

Installing Noctua NH-U12P on my i5-750

So, howdy. I used to have this NH-U12P cooling my old AMD system, and after I upgraded my main to i5-750 I left the cooler in the old system that I ended up using as a server. Well, no more. Grabbed the free NM-13 mounting kit from Noctua, and the plan is to install the cooler to my...

What would be the number one router to get?

I too am looking for some router advice, and instead of making a new thread I figured I'd post here. So that Buffalo looks like a winner. My setup would be mainly about sharing the internet connection. I plan to hook my main computer and X360 through regular lan cables, since they are...

    Buying a widescreen LCD

So, I've read the LCD thread sticky and browsed quite a few sites about LCDs these past few weeks, and come to the possible decision on buying ASUS VW222U monitor. Now, does anyone have this, and maybe can share some personal opinions of it and its features? Personal opinions are the best...

Dividing 3 pin fan power-out thing for 2 fans

The LD 3-Pin Fan Power Splitter Cable is the one I seek, so it looks like it can be done. Now to find one locally, that's going to be a pain in the butt.

Dividing 3 pin fan power-out thing for 2 fans

Is it possible to divide a 3 pin case fan thing to somehow support 2 fans? The situation is that my SOLO case has two front slots for 92mm fans, but my mobo only has one 3 pin power slot near the front. Adding one molex cable just for the fan is something I'd like to avoid if at all possible...

    Hot pocket?

I'm not worried about overheating really, but I'm wondering if better case ventilation would help my gfx card keep lower rpm. While it's not horrible right now, it gets a little loud when I'm gaming.

    Hot pocket?

Hello again folks. I'm currently running my computer in Antec Solo with only one 120 back fan blowing air out of the case. So there really isn't a lot of air moving moving through the case right now. My gfx card has a dual slot cooler and a grill on the second slot, but it isn't one of those...

    Which 8800GT for me?

So, since MSI card that was on stock wasn't the one with the zalman vf1000, decided to go with the Palit card that I originally was looking at. Big mistake. Looks like it doesn't have fan control at all. The cooler runs at 100% all the time, and neither ntune or rivatuner can adjust the...

    Which 8800GT for me?

While I'm waiting for a reply from e-tailers (it's night in here, so maybe businesss hours tomorrow), does anyone have a review or two for that MSI card? All I can find are reviews with the reference cooler, and would like to see some numbers & graphs on the temps and sounds of the better cooler.

    Which 8800GT for me?

That MSI one looks like a sweet package, too bad the hot deal is out of my reach, living in Finland sucks sometimes. Anyways, I've been looking at my options locally and it looks like the NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC is also available with the reference design. What sucks is that most of the time...

    Which 8800GT for me?

Howdy again folks. I finally got some extra cash and decided to get a 8800 gt 512. The only question remaining is which brand and model to get. I've been looking at the Palit models, mostly because of the non-reference cooler, which is, according to some reviews, much more silent than the...

Intel stock HSFs noise (and temps)

Intel stock HSFs noise (and temps)

Oh yes, I forgot to say that I have indeed seen the new tiny stock cooler pics, which is exactly why I'm wondering if the fan in it is still the same as it was in the old, larger model.

Intel stock HSFs noise (and temps)

It seems that everyone directly jumps to whatever aftermarket cooler they already posses and use that on their new E8400. I'm however curious how the new HSF compares to the old model as far as the fan is concerned. Is it the same or similar fan, how's the noise in it under max (stock clocked)...

Adjusting AMD stock CPU fan speed?

The story so far; I bought a new psu few days ago, and it has a 12' fan on the bottom. This increase in airflow keeps my cpu cooler, and as such the cpu fan doesn't spin up as fast as before. Sounds good, right? Well, therein lies a problem. As it turns out, the cpu fan makes this annoying...

Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme (and other coolers)

Ah, so it is. Interesting looking thing. It doesn't help me though, looks like it's not available at my location. Or anywhere close to me. Would be a bit overkill to order something small like that overseas, postage would probably be three times the price of the actual clip. However, I might...
