~128GB SSD: C300 vs Force vs Nova vs Vertex2

@Zap: yeah Win7. laptop has very heavy Outlook files (10GB+), desktop mostly used for gaming (but won't install games on such a small SSD!) and movie watching. my main concern is about firmware/TRIM issues, I'd rather sacrifice a little performance for stability. thx!

Advice needed: 4TB+ Fileserver and scalable offline Backup

the reason i'm not considering WHS is because AFAIK folder redundancy isn't real time like true RAID arrays, meaning more overhead. So far RAID-10 has done a good middle ground between redundancy and performance.

Advice needed: 4TB+ Fileserver and scalable offline Backup

Fileserver: XP Pro SP3 Clients: Win7 and Vista RAID-10 is arranged in controller BIOS (AMD 780G chipset), not in windows. I'd prefer a windows-based OS since I have zero experience with Linux/BSD thx!

Advice needed: 4TB+ Fileserver and scalable offline Backup

Hello All, Need advice on how to expand my fileserver and improve backup method. I have a small office, all our projects run on a 2TB fileserver over 1Gb ethernet. Also, finished projects (1GB~15GB each) are manually copied to twin 1TB drives hooked to an eSATA dock (i.e. each 1TB backup...

    Issues with RAID 0 + non-RAID disk with ICH9r

Thou the main suspect is the MB, I wouldn't discard an aging PSU.

    Good P55 Board please?

I've been using that MB for 2 months now (i5 750), very solid and stable and, as n7 pointed, a lot of connectivity options for its price category.

    LG's 23" E-Ips

I know Dell released a revised 2408WFP that should fix the terrible input lag of the first generation. If you decide on that model for gaming make sure you get good response. Apart from input lag, the colours are great, very nice for graphics/video.

    IPS vs LED

IPS LCD = great colour and viewing angles. Just make sure you get low imput lag.

to nVidia fanboys: keep GTX260 for 2560x1600 gaming or what?

Thou OC'd GTX275 sounds reasonable there aren't as many choices in my country. I think I'll wait for Fermi (here that means 2 months after Fermi) and see what to do. Thanks all for the info!

to nVidia fanboys: keep GTX260 for 2560x1600 gaming or what?

Hey happy medium, that's an interesting idea! Thou I've had 2 bad experiences with Gigabyte vidcards both were using zalman coolers, I guess reference nVidia cooler shouldn't have trouble. I gotta get rid of this GTX260 then

to nVidia fanboys: keep GTX260 for 2560x1600 gaming or what?

Washoe: yeah, had an LG W2353 23" 1920x1080 TN panel. the main improvement apart from the large desktop real estate is S-IPS panel. This particular model has 92% gamut which means higher colour range. Viewing angles are way better too. TN won't give you either. What the 3007SPF-HC WON'T...

to nVidia fanboys: keep GTX260 for 2560x1600 gaming or what?

Mostly UnrealEngine kind of games, not big specs needed. Getting the 30" took a great effort so not much money left. I think I'll wait for nVidia news then. Thanks for the comments!

Just upgraded my monitor from a TN 1920x1080 to a Dell 3007WFP-HC, is there a reasonable nVidia upgrade to my GTX260 or should I wait for Fermi? specs: Gigabyte P55M-UD2 (so no SLI) i5 750 (stock until TRUE LGA1156 adapter comes) 4GB Corsair 1600 500GB 7200.12 system drive 2x320GB F1...

Hello all, Just got this monitor, a dream come true! well, until I installed it and checked a few pics... I knew this model was no good until calibrated, and since I have no access to a hdarware colorimeter I got Digital Versus' ICC profile for this same model. Followed instructions and...

    3007WFP-HC good instead of TV?

I've decided for the 3007, was tempted for a cheap 40" TV but I'm sure colour accuracy won't be anything near the IPS panel :) Next step after the box comes home is to calibrate it, I've used one at work and it has a nasty peak on magentas. btw, nice upgrade on the site! I guess I just came in...

    3007WFP-HC good instead of TV?

Hey thanks for the warm welcome and quick response! I definitely didn't give much details and made a mistake on the speakers, on your questions: GTX260 core 216 with dual/link DVI, yes :) PC is the only source, so the limited conectivity of 3007wfp ain't an issue. I'm not gonna be farther...

    3007WFP-HC good instead of TV?

Hi all, my first post @Anandtech! I was planning to get a cheap 40"LCD for home this xmas until this idea came to me: since I don't have much space in the room why not upgrade my PC monitor to a 30" and use it also as an HTPC monitor? I'm also looking for a good price/quality set of PC...
