I don't think that we should assume that the estimated time to completion is correct. On 2 of my dual core machines (the ones with the Cuda tasks), the time was ~400 hours for each of those 4 tasks when they first started. Now they've been crunching for ~44 1/2 hours and the time to...
I'm concerned about your cpu temps. (That's 177.8-181.4F!! (That last sentence is more of a note to myself, for reference. I realize that everybody on our forum knows how to convert temperature.))
I'm reasonably certain that you know more than I do, so I won't say anything about thermal...
Yesterday evening I was grilling some marinated chicken and ran out of propane about 1/3 of the way through the process. . . . , no problem. I brought it inside and cut it up into strips and finished it off in a skillet with some olive oil. I also used a lid. I paired it with some...
Hi everybody!
I've been shutdown for a few days. (There are those who would say that I've been out of touch for years.) I'm just coming to and I have discovered that Alyx passed 25,000,000 on Primegrid sometime last week. Good job Alyx!!!
Yea!!!
Rudy Toody passed 10,000,000 on Primegrid!
He also helped me install Debian AMD 64 on one of my machines. It's a dual boot machine. The other OS is Windows XP Pro 32 bit, sp3.
An NVidia GeForce 9800 GT is also on the machine, and it took a while but I figured out how to install the...
I know -- I've quoted myself here. You see . . . , I have to take that statement back. This evening I dropped an AMD Athlon 64 4000+ into a spot that was occupied by an AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 Dual Core a few days ago.
It's running just fine, albeit a little slower and less powerful. It's...
When you said 2600k cpu, I (being ignorant) thought that you were talking about a cpu running at 2.6 GHz. I thought about my 2 FX-60 boxes which have been running for years without a problem, and I was confused. Then I read the post and thought that I should google 2600k cpu - a new i7!! --...
Thanks for the stats! I was a little late bringing the GeForce 9800 GT that Rudy got for me online. I put Debian 64 on the machine, but I couldn't figure out how to install the cuda drivers. I screwed the system up trying, so I decided to put the re-install off for a day or so and use WinXP...
Yep. I have dumped all I can. I'll do a final check in about 10 minutes, but I don't think any more wu's will be ready. Like some of you, I have plenty that will finish after the race. It's been fun!
Where are the pictures?? You have to start carrying a camera around. You never know when you're going to see something that would make a good picture.
OTOH, I know that it is not always convenient to carry a camera. . . . , perhaps a thought.
