I would not climb from nepal even if the climb was free, too many idiots that dont know what there doing over there. There are literally lines up the mountain on that side on good weather days.

I'm not sure where your finding dehydrated food for 7 bucks a pop.....but that is ridiculous you can find them for half that price easy.
MRE's would be a big no no for any serious mountains for a variety of reasons.
Best and cheapest food for climbing is to make all your own stuff, oatmeal...

by the way, I did 3 weeks in europe for less than 2400 including airfare and train pass. you can usually do it cheaper yourself.

I would not even think about building your own speakers, there good if you want something loud, but as far as quality of sound goes, a mid-high end speaker is going to sound better than something you could...
From the sound of it you'll need to run the wires above the room, between the ceiling and the 1st floor, which in that situation can be a real pain... just depends on your house though.
Are you wanting to do an hdtv projector or a regular one?
