    Gamescom: Dark Souls Trailer

Yes, you're still very early in the game. However, here's a tip that may help: Also, don't worry about raising the door. As you noticed, it closes again anyway. However, there's a bonfire very close by. When you come to the wooden bridge with the cathedral on the left (and three enemies...

Explore Sewers In RAGE, But Only If You Buy It New

Sure, it will have no impact until it actually does bite you in the ass. Say, when you buy a new game and your system dies while you're playing it. And, again, just keep supporting this utter nonsense and we'll find out just how far they take it. Oh, and save the BS about used game buyers not...

Explore Sewers In RAGE, But Only If You Buy It New

Lots of people? A small group per game, sure, but plenty of people play older games from times to time. You haven't? Besides that's just one aspect. What if you get a new system? Or your current system or hard drive dies? I mean, how many people here are still on their original XBox...

Explore Sewers In RAGE, But Only If You Buy It New

What a terrible concept. So now publishers are going to start withholding single player content in an attempt to squash the used game market? And I already see that we have people here not seeing the big picture. So you say you already buy new? Well, good for you, now try actually thinking...

Nintendo slashing 3DS price to $170 in August

I think that's referring to specific games. The DSi itself can connect to WPA networks, but if you're trying to play a game with online features that was released before the DSi then you'll be unable to access the online features while using WPA encryption.

Will tablets and smartphones destroy the handheld market?

I think they'll put a huge dent in the dedicated portables, but maybe not completely wipe them out. I think many people view portable games as time wasters. So I think the cheap $1-5 games fit that perfectly. Most are garbage and virtually all are shallow, but if you can pass a few minutes...

Resistance 3 starts Sony's version of the online pass

This actually seems worse than most PC games in many ways. Yeah, the crap they put up with on single player games is often worse, but when taking about online games I think the passes are worse in most cases. The most annoying PC DRM usually have some sort of install limit with the keys, but...

Resistance 3 starts Sony's version of the online pass

They aren't even remotely close yet though. I mean, the mobile platforms are great for games like Angry Birds, but anything deeper usually feels very cheap. For example, I appreciate the fact that I can play a Diablo clone like Dungeon Hunter on the go, but compared to Diablo itself it's...

Resistance 3 starts Sony's version of the online pass

Of course, virtually all games were $50 just last generation, I think that's why people complain a lot this generation. Also, many of those older games were pricey due to the prices of solid state storage. Personally, I'm fine with the prices of games given the increase in devepment costs, I...

Resistance 3 starts Sony's version of the online pass

This and all online passes are crap. Why game devs and pubs think they deserve special treatment is beyond me. Virtually every other non-perishable product on the market deals with a used market. Games aren't special.

"White Sparkles" video problem with PS3

People often say that the quality of HDMI cables doesn't matter, but sometimes it does. White sparkles or macro blocking are the two sure fire signs that you're losing signal with your current cables. Six feet really isn't that long, so your current cables are either super cheap or have some...

Sony ends welcome back program early

It does say "through" the 3rd. That clearly means available today. That's not debatable. However, people did have plenty of time. Still, Sony was kind of stupid here. Why risk the bad press?

Free games from Sony. Are those games any good?

IMO, the best upgrades were for the grenades, mines, and flares. They're excellent for crowd control. The SMG is worthless. The flame thrower is merely OK... it's good for slowing down a crowd, but it's easy to set yourself on fire and it really doesn't seem to pack much of a punch. The...

Free games from Sony. Are those games any good?

IMO, they're all pretty good, just depends on what you want to play since none of them are remotely like any of the others. If I hadn't played any of them before I'd probably go with inFamous and Super Stardust HD.... or maybe WipEout in place of SSHD if I were a big fan of racing games...

    Saints Row 3 gameplay video..DAMNN!

Personally I found GTA4 to be not only boring and tedious, but that cell phone crap really annoyed the hell out of me. The damn thing was ringing all the time and I was always worried that ignoring calls would have repercussions (e.g. miss out on something) down the the road. Eventually I just...

PSN down. Update8: Welcome Back Package is Live

Most of them should be fairly small. LittleBigPlanet and inFamous should be the largest since they were originally retail games. I don't know how large, but probably several GBs each minimum. The others will be more like XBLA downloads and probably a GB or less. You can likely Google around...

PSN down. Update8: Welcome Back Package is Live

Co-op? Dead Nation or LBP depending on what you want. Dead Nation is kind of like playing L4D from a top down perspective. LBP is a platformer. The controls/physics are somewhat divisive. Some people love the game others hate it due to the floaty physics.

PSN down. Update8: Welcome Back Package is Live

LOL.. seriously? They're all great. Which, for me, is a problem. I already own every one of these games :\ So while it's a great deal for some it seems like their most active customers who may own all these games, and for whom the downtime would be most troublesome, potentially get...

Starhawk announced for PS3, mixes in RTS elements

Poll: Anyone looking to get rid of their PS3 because of the breach?

I think another very telling sign is the fact that they're busy basically rebuilding their network from the ground up. That would seem to indicate the flaws were so bad and/or abundant that it was simply easier to start over.

Poll: Anyone looking to get rid of their PS3 because of the breach?

Taking it seriously isn't the same as knowing what you're doing. You need merely look at the enormous blunder they made with the security of their private signing keys, something they surely took seriously, to see they may not be the best at actually implementing security measures. It's true...

PSN down. Update8: Welcome Back Package is Live

I went ahead and just cancelled my card. Rather than go through this nonsense of checking news and my bank's website on a daily basis I decided it was just easier, and safer, to simply get a new card issued. A little too much smoke for my liking.

New Nintendo Console Debuting At E3 This June, Launching In 2012 Update: New Details

This assumes neither Sony or MS are ready/able to respond. I agree that neither seems to be in a hurry to move on, but the end of 2012 is still quite far off. Either could wait another year or so before even announcing anything and this next Nintendo system will still be months from launch...

New Nintendo Console Debuting At E3 This June, Launching In 2012 Update: New Details

Personally, I think I'm done with Nintendo. I've played each generation less and less since the Super Nintendo. The Wii has gone through several periods of non-use measured in months. I find almost nothing they do compelling anymore.

Gran Turisomo 5: Terrible Driving Game, or Worst Driving Game Ever?

Worst driving game ever? I suppose that's meant to be hyperbole, but it's not even close. That award goes to the PC game, "Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing": Youtube

Unable to get console based immersion.

I don't know, I really dont consider M/KB natural at all. Digital movement and unnaturally fast aiming isn't the least bit natural. Not saying it isn't better, but don't really buy the natural angle.

Unable to get console based immersion.

I'm the opposite. I have a hard time getting into my games sitting at my computer. I'm just not as comfortable since it feels like sitting at work, so I can't ever fully get into the game. Wearing headphones seems to help since the audio is a bit better (compared to my PC speakers) and it...

OFFICIAL Killzone 3 Thread [Release Date confirmed]

I haven't tried the Move with KZ3 yet, but I've not had much luck with the Wii using similar configurations. The problem I have is I'm left handed. When playing a normal controller my left thumb moves and my right aims. This is what I'm used to and I never use any Southpaw configurations...

One, we're technically talking KZ3 here and people are STILL complaining about the game. Two, if you read the article you'll see that, for example, Halo 3 comes in around 150ms while doing any jumping... which is what people spend A LOT of time doing in MP. Yet you simply never see the...

OFFICIAL Killzone 3 Thread [Release Date confirmed]

It's a combination of things with KZ3. The intentionally weighty controls combined with the input lag, plus, frankly, people just bitch more about PS3 games. Halo, BioShock, and L4D all have input lag comparable to KZ, but little to no one complains about them. It's been this way this entire...
