Newegg has the Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 for $109.99 and a Arc Midi R2 Black Widow for $156.99. I can't find out the difference in these two cases. Does anyone know the differences?
I have probably looked at 50 cases on line, read reviews and comments of most all of them. The two cases I seem to keep going back to are the Fractal Design R5 and the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe. Even though the Phanteks is a full tower it does not seem as big as some full towers.
I am also not going...
II am also looking for a case. I like the Fractal Design Define R5 FD-CA-DEF-R5-TI-W white but can't find one.
Corsair's Carbide 500R is also a good one along with the Phanteks Enthoo Pro .
I wonder how the Corsair Carbide Air 540 would fit on a desk? Any one have anything to say about this...
I am going to load a fresh new copy of Windows 7 on a new 250gb SSD. Besides windows what other programs should I load on the SSD? Should I load all other programs on my 1tb Hard Drive?
I am not sure about a GPU at this time. I really do not need a Gaming unit. I currently have the old one in my current PC which may work. The one I am now using is a Saphire 1002296HDMI Radeon HD 4670 1gb 128bit DDR3 PCI Express.
My power supply is 5 years old but works just fine right now. Should I use it on a new build or by new? My current PS is a Cooler Master Silent Pro M600 RS-600-AMBA-D3 600W.
I now have a ASUS VH242H monitor. I haven't looked into new ones but there may be better monitors.
Thanks for all the excellent advice. It has been 5 years since I built my original PC. I used a Gigabyte MB in it and may use the Gigabyte in the new build but that is not 100%.
My current power...
You bring up a good point.
The E3-1231 is $256.99 from Amazon or Newegg. The I5-4690 is $238.99 from Amazon and $239.99 from Newegg.
I would then need a graphics card if using the E3-1231v3 from what I understand. Is the increase in performance enough to justify the Xeon? I do not think I will...
I plan on building a new PC using one of the 3 following motherboards:
MSI ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards Z97 GAMING 5
ASUS Z97-A ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards Z97-A
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK (Black Edition)
I will be using a Intel Core i5-4690K Processor, with 8gb ram.
My use of...
Is there that much difference in Windows 8.1 to the new Windows 10.xxx.
I don't know how much longer it will be until 10 is out and stable enough to use. Windows 10 is supposed to be a free upgrade from 7 or 8 from what I was told.
Some good information here.
My question was started because I am going to do a build. My current memory is 4 sticks of G.Skill Ripjaws (4 x 2gb) 240 pin DDR3SDRAM 1600 (PC3 12800) Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL.
Could I use my current memory in the new build or get new 2 sticks of 4gb memory?
Is my...
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64bit (OEM) System Builder DVD 1 Pack (For Refurbished PC Installation) $89.97
·
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64bit (OEM) System Builder DVD 1 Pack (New Packaging) $135.99
Refurbishing or New Packaging is all I can see. What am I missing?
I tend to use my PC mainly for photo editing and some video editing. I do use my current PC to output HDMI video to a TV.
Are the newer Motherboards good enough to just use onboard Video without the use of a card?
I intend on using a Intel Core i5-4690K Processor with a ASUS Z97-A ATX DDR3...
Thanks for the information. I have other questions but not sure where to put them. They have to do with other components in new build.????
One question: Is there any reasons to get one or the other 8gb of memory :
8gb (4 x 2gb) 240 pin DDR3 SDRAM or 8gb (2 x4gb) 240 pin DDR3 SDRAM. Is 4 or...
I don't really need to overclock. (at least I don't think so). My current processor is getting old it was an I5 760 Lynnfield Quad core.
I am thinking a new I5 would be fine depending on price difference from an I7. A good motherboard would be a big help.
Would it be a wise choice to buy a Intel Core i5-3570K at this time to use for video and photo editing? I am not heavily into video editing but do it from time to time. I mostly do photography work with editing. Of course a good motherboard helps. Are there better choices for the money?
I appreciate all the help and tried all information but I still have the same end result.
Is it possible that it is a motherboard problem, or a windows registration problem?
my boot order was the SSD second after the DVD.
I think something is not set correct in my BIOS.
There are 2 white sata ports noted as Gygabyte GSATA2 chip.
There are 6 blue sata ports noted as 6 xSata 3Gb's.
Each set can be configured as IDE or RAID/XHD or AHCI.
I changed them to...
Gigabyte motherboard.
Windows 7 CD is a Windows 7 retail box purchase.
The original Bios was set to IDE but I tried to change it to AHCI just for the SSD. Neither AHCI or IDE works for the SSD.
The original Windows 7 was loaded to a HD that was cloned to another HD because the original...
I attached the Intel 330 180gb SSD to my pc. All other drives were removed. I started Windows 7 Home Premium 64 to do a clean install. Windows goes through all the steps and tries to restart on the very last step but nothing happens. I end up with a blank screen. My Windows copy is on a CD that...
Thanks guys. I am sorry for my mistake. I am trying to install Windows 7 on the SSD. My current 1tb HD has sector errors that prevent me from doing a clone. I want to do the clean install on the SSD for Windows boot.
My plan is to have the SSD as my boot drive and a HD as my storage and work drive. I attached the Intel 330 180gb SSD to my pc. All other drives were removed. I started Windows 7 Home Premium 64 to do a clean install. Windows goes through all the steps and tries to restart on the very last step...

I have a windows 7 Home professional operating system. My printer is a Brother Laser HL 2170W set up as wireless.
The problem I have is intermittent. If the printer is not on when I start up my PC it shuts down my PC and then the PC restarts. It sometimes also will shutdown My PC if I send...
Thanks for all the great information.
I was also thinking of a StarTech duplicator dock (SATDOCK2REU3 USB 3.0) to backup (Clone) hard drives but not sure how good they really are. There is some software that will backup and clone hard drives also. Acronis is one that many use. It would be...
Data Stick, Memory Card, DVD, Hard Drive or ??????
This is for storage of pictures, videos, and Documents. Is one safer then another or longer lasting? The memory cards and data sticks are small and easy to store.
There are a lot of programs, files and documents on the current C: drive.
I have read numerous poor reviews about Windows 8.
Should I even bother to install it at this time?
I received the Intel 330 180gb SSD for Christmas and Windows 8 Professional.
I am now running Windows 7 using a 1 tb Western Digital HD as my C: drive. I also have a 250 gb drive with pictures, documents and other files on it.
I would like to install Windows 8 along with the new SSD but would...
On a windows 7 desktop HP computer when booting up the symbols "A 1 ↓" appear in the lower right of the monitor just as the icons appear on the desk top. They only last about 5 seconds and then are gone.
I have other computers and never see these symbols.
Could this be a virus or...
