Looks like Haswell is integrating the voltage regulator, according to Fudzilla anyway.

Even though this a a "joke" thread. Here is a picture of the actual A5 incase anyone is interested.

I don't know too much about SSDs, but am I wrong to be thinking that the results in that thread so far are pretty impressive? I mean we have 30TBs of writing which is impressive in itself, but if the media wear-out indictor is accurate at 83, the drive still has a ways to go.
Funny this should be brought up again...

And thanks for the article Schmide!
In regards to Intel's IA... I could see someone like Apple wanting to come in and say "I want to do something about your Integrated Graphics." I do agree that if they let outside processor manufacturing it will certainly be an older node.

Thought this was very interesting. Wonder if Apple would take them up on it...
Everybody talks about this, but does Apple really want to go up against Intel? I doubt it. As much as Apple likes to avoid relying on outside sources for things.
Although Arnold Kim of MacRumors dug this up: http://bit.ly/mCqYPi Which is interesting, but that was a different time of course.
Not that I know what I am talking about.... but I don't see the Pro line going ARM. I imagine that, and maybe the iMac would stay Intel. At least not in the 2013 time frame. I could see maybe a 2014 or 2015 switch. Then again who knows what Apple has planned. Maybe they'd sooner drop the Pro...
That is really the only thing I can think of at the moment too. But it kind of blows me away that this rumor comes post Tri-Gate. Apple may be privy to something.....
I'm also guessing they'd have some form of Rosetta for X86 like they did for PPC?
Edit: Or they don't care too much and are looking to leverage developers from the iPhone and their huge app install base? Maybe a combo of all three?
In my own thought process, if I'm dropping about $500 on an SSD I am out to get the most reliable one at this point. And not to say the others aren't reliable in general, but the Intel is clearly top of the class.
To be honest this makes me a bit excited to see what Apple must be doing with ARM chips for their laptops if we have Microsoft porting over Windows.
It's all extremely interesting.
There is an interesting discussion going on about this over at HardForum. Specifically, the data retention length and the lifespan of the drive.

Well, Arrandale is on its way and Apple is likely to use it. However, it's unknown when that update will take place. You may want to take a look at Anand's Holiday Macbook Pro roundup: http://www.anandtech.com/mac/showdoc.aspx?i=3672&p=10
