So Apple updated Xprotect again this morning and caused a bunch of angry teachers at work. Of course there isn't a new enough version of Java out yet to actually update to...
Not sure on a quicker fix than this but I deployed this to a thousand machines today to get grading going again for...

Free from its $182 billion millstone and damn proud of it American International Group must now decide whether to chew off the giant hand that kept it fed by joining a $25 billion shareholder lawsuit...
Open up 'Disk Utility' and verify the permissions on your hard drive.
I've seen some really odd issues including lock ups fixed by the permissions repair.
Newest local high school around here cost just under $100 million if i remember correctly. Opened 3 years ago and I believe came in under budget slightly.
Its looking like the 16-50mm from Sony may be the lens I will get. From the example videos I have seen it does a very quiet auto focus in comparison to the Sigma and Tamron
I was wondering if anyone knew of a nice alternative lens that would get hopefully similar results to this lens.
Right now I have the 18-55 kit lens and while it is 'ok' I would love to have something better.
I was looking at maybe the 16-80mm f/3.5-f/4.5.
I've read great things about the...
I have similar usage.
Maybe 20 minutes of calling, Maybe 100 text messages(almost all recieved), but I use on average 7.8GB of data per month.
I don't keep music on my phone.
I just stream music, I don't tether or download very large things really.
If you look in the address bar at the top you can see how to get to that menu.
If you add java maybe it will go though? May have to set ports as well.
I've never used Windows Server to host a Minecraft server, only linux.
From the sounds of it once summer rolls around we will be deploying approx 1200-1300 Macbooks of some sort. We'll have approximately 75 days to do this.
Right now we use Altiris for our Windows imaging/application deployment, and we don't have a new enough version to support OS X 10.7
We...
I believe that is exactly why google started offering people money outside of the competition.
Because the competitors do not have to release how they did it.
I guess I could be, but I don't go more than 3-4 times per week.
Normally 2 days of running/stairs/cycling and 2 days of lifting.
Maybe my body just needs more time to adjust to that schedule?
Not sure if this is just a coincidence but in the last few months I seem to have gotten sick more often than usual.
Nothing really more than a cold, but still just oddly often.
Around 3.5 months ago I started going back to the gym.
Not sure if you are really into trance, but I love songs like this while doing cardio.

Can you just stream to your ps3 from your laptop?
I have all of my videos on my linux file server and they stream without issue using ps3 media server.
This is true.
I hated giving everyone the same model laptop as the OP with that screen, I am pretty sure it was something like 70 dollars to upgrade the screen, yet I was told it wasn't necessary.
Its just silly having screens with such a low resolution nowadays(unless it;s sub 12")
I know that its possibly to has OS X automatically mount your home folder from active directory. I am not sure what all we had to setup to get that working either.
I probably won't have any time in the next few days but maybe once I do have time I can check it out.
From the sounds of it she probably has office, and if she has office 2007 it should have saving to PDF's built in... at least I think it does.
Do what was mentioned above, just mention that it interferes with productivity and hopefully it will be fixed.
Also, welcome to understaffed IT?

To resolve this issue yourself, enable the AHCI driver in the registry before you change the SATA mode of the boot drive. To do this, follow these steps:
Exit all Windows-based programs.
Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box...
You are my hero :)
It was my fonts.
At some point I had found some giant font pack from a few years ago and installed all of them(thousands of them).
I had never heard of issues with having too many fonts. I am so glad I do not have to re-install now.
Yeah, I've re-installed Java. Oddly it even happens with one application that has its own java executable that it runs.
I have not tried cleaning my registry though. I'll give it a shot though, prob won't hurt.

All of these things worked fine until.... maybe 6 months ago? I was just avoiding trying to get it working until recently. Netflix also refuses to work, I actually watch movies in my VM to get it working.
Its really been bothering me lately that I have this problem.
Whenever I try to launch a jar file with javaw.exe(Minecraft etc) My computer bogs down to incredibly slow, even my mouse is lagged and skips across the screen.
I've tried re-install Java and clearing out all temp files I can...
It definitely works for fullscreen mode.
I have no issues for Ubuntu/Suse/Windows resolution. Once the guest additions are installed anyway. And this is on multiple computers.
