XFX 390's go back to blowers?

Has anyone ever thought of/ attempted rigging up a shroud - attached externally - to PULL the hot air away from the bracket vents via 120mm+ fans? Not much surface area to work with on the fan input side, but I might try this myself to help tame my reference card, whilst retaining its...

    Unreal Touranment 4 update

Nope, was nowhere close to what Q3/ UT99 was unfortunately. Not only were hardware requirements too steep for most people, the game launched with many bugs which drove people away even further. There really wasn't a second chance once the game finally got patched to a decent level, and PCs...

    Unreal Touranment 4 update

I wouldn't mind a proper revival of Quake 4! From pre to post-patch, I loved the hell out of that game. Movement and weapons feel that just shits all over Quake 3, IMO.

    Unreal Touranment 4 update

I might have to retract my earlier statement about the netcode. I played on another server the other day, and it definitely felt like the 250 ping of olde. Still playable, but definite disadvantage, with huge delays. Not sure why that one server felt so good... shrug. That being said, there...

    Toxikk- The new UT/Quake?

Lol, you're still caught up on this. The ad was meant to attract old-school FPS players, and it did a darn good job at it, IMO. Those mechanics (health regen, etc.) are the very things we are sick of, in all fairness.

    Toxikk- The new UT/Quake?

Whipper, these were my thoughts as well while I was taking my morning dump at work (TMI? Nevar... ) Epic should just swoop them up so that they can contribute to UT2014. Toxikk is in dire need of a weapons revamp from the ground up (not enough 'variety' to them), which was made exceptionally...

    Unreal Touranment 4 update

Couldn't stop playing last night! I kept trying to dodge-jump in humerous fashion. The wall-dodges feel great in giving a slight boost to speed, and overall movement/ momentum seems to strike a perfect balance between what I remembered how UT was (99, 2004 specifically), and Quake. In contrast...

0.75 update is out! CTF map with vehicles. Had a blast last night.

This is made by a different team, however. Bit of an unfair assessment, no?

    Battlefield Hardline

I haven't played BF4 for the past few months, so I can't draw any comparisons there (I stopped playing not long after the netcode patch). On its own, Hardline feels pretty crisp and accurate. No complaints from me. :) Network smoothing kept at default (50%). On a sidenote, I just wish the...

    Battlefield Hardline

Not a huge fan of Hotwire (fun at first, but seems really shallow and see myself getting bored of it real quick). Conquest - might as well be playing BF4. No real difference there. Heist - probably THE reason to be playing this game, IMO. Great fun chasing each other down. As was mentioned...

I'm actually quite excited about this; haven't cared to touch BF4 in months, and don't miss it one bit. Had a blast with the first beta.

Toxikk (arena-style FPS) Just Released! [Early Access, NOT Free-to-Play]

Got'cha. Per the roadmap and a recent post from a dev, we'll be getting the first update by mid-late week which may address the OP Cerberus.

Toxikk (arena-style FPS) Just Released! [Early Access, NOT Free-to-Play]

I'll most likely check Reflex out once it's further into development; have always loved CPMA-based movement. :) In fact, I wish Quake Live's default physics was set to that. Felt really good with the netcode and all. Don't get me wrong with the modern shooter flak I've been giving on this...

Toxikk (arena-style FPS) Just Released! [Early Access, NOT Free-to-Play]

NorseAMD : Suffice to say, it truly seems like Reakktor is in for the long-haul with this one. I have faith, anyway. :) Keep in mind that realism is not what they're going for - arena shooters have never been about realism, anyhow. Over the top fun/ physics? Hell yes. DigDog: IMO, UT's...

Toxikk (arena-style FPS) Just Released! [Early Access, NOT Free-to-Play]

Well, put it this way: their intent is to spit in the face of almost every shooter released within the past 10 years or so. A bit extreme mind you, but they do have a point. Think about it: the gameplay mechanics for 95% of the shooters out there today involve taking cover, ADS'ing (iron...

Toxikk (arena-style FPS) Just Released! [Early Access, NOT Free-to-Play]

Movement feels very similar to UT2004 (so, dodge, dodge-jump, wall-jump). No ground accel, and very minor air control.

Toxikk (arena-style FPS) Just Released! [Early Access, NOT Free-to-Play]

I think you meant, prefer more of a skill ceiling, no? :) NorseAMD: The rise of military-based shooters paved the way for more accessibility within the general public. While there's no denying that those kind of games (CoD, Battlefield, etc.) require some skill, they simply pale in comparison...

Toxikk (arena-style FPS) Just Released! [Early Access, NOT Free-to-Play]

Maybe if rocket speed was reduced to something more akin to Quake 2's, that should definitely help. :) Not sure if it would work entirely though, given Toxikk's lateral movement speed with dodging and whatnot. Too slow of a rocket may end up being an exercise in frustration, methinks. :p Agreed...

Toxikk (arena-style FPS) Just Released! [Early Access, NOT Free-to-Play]

It depends on the game, really. For instance, with Sony's H1Z1, you get access to air-dropped goodies (which contain valuable items). These drops CAN be contested and fought-over though, so not exactly Pay-2-Win either. Incentives, really! :) If developers are showing honest effort and deliver...

Toxikk (arena-style FPS) Just Released! [Early Access, NOT Free-to-Play]

Nerf OR less ammo OR slower rate-of-fire, I'd say. OR it could also be the fact that the map is very enclosed, allowing for easy splash damage in most sections. Sitting here at work, and I can't stop thinking about how darn good the game felt right from the get-go. Exciting times...

Toxikk (arena-style FPS) Just Released! [Early Access, NOT Free-to-Play]

Correct - this is NOT F2P. Just played a few round with bots - VERY SMOOTH! It most definitely feels like UT2004 in its movement, and the secondary fire modes seem well thought out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

    Insurgency Question

OP, you guys/ ladies are probably just better off using the in-game VOIP feature. It's pretty neat in that it allows for 3D positioning (when in close proximity to others), and reverts to radio style when further away. Volume of sounds is decreased automatically during chat. Give it a shot...

Insurgency (2) Released - Red Orchestra with Modern Guns

Do you find fantasy games as interesting as you used to?

As a JRPG lover, I never found the whole Westernized stuff AS appealing (although I still enjoy them, no doubt). Give me a setting like Phantasy Star (16-bit Genesis days), Tales of the Abyss or Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (new fave), any day.

Dirty Bomb now on Steam (From creators of Enemy Terrirory and Quake Wars)

Planetside 2..Free to play..and looking awesome so far!

Been waiting for Hossin before I started playing this again - looks like they've made major changes throughout the last few patches (death screen, explosion sounds, etc.). FPS seems to have tanked a bit though, causing major mouse lag. Might have to dial some settings down a tad.

    Unreal Tournament is coming back

Aside from career modes, you've pretty much described the free shooters that are out today (Warsow, Xonotic, etc.). Top-notch in their own right (Xonotic being my fave by far), but little to no interest from gamers. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst, in any case!

best way to get xb360 pad to work on Elder Scrolls online for the PC?

^ Couldn't disagree more. Final Fantasy 14 pulled it off perfectly, so why can't they? Players only have access to six abilities at a time (per weapon slot), so this is more than doable. In fact, certain functions are easier to pull off on a controller, versus having your hand cramp up hitting...

best way to get xb360 pad to work on Elder Scrolls online for the PC?

I'm suspecting timeline/ priority issues. Perhaps they wanted to get the game out ASAP, and figure out an ideal controller scheme for the consoles' June release. Something akin to FFXIV's scheme would be ideal, I'd imagine (hold a shoulder button down to access hotbar).

best way to get xb360 pad to work on Elder Scrolls online for the PC?

I tried that Pinnacle setup, but still miss the fine granular [analog] control offered by native controller support. Moving the cursor around with the right stick is a pain as well. Dang it Zenimax, finalize and implement proper controller (with associated UI) support already! Hours on the...
