I asked him that before we began arguing. Just as we were shooting the shit.
He said that state laws prevent it. So there is some limit, somewhere. But when you tack on a bunch of bullshit fees like the one I got, the sky is the limit it seems.
The real crime here is that they aren't breaking any laws. That's what this post is all about.
I get it. I mean, even if they are pissing people off, who cares? They're making tons of money. I'd be curious to see some of the state laws.
I would have done this if the guy would have mentioned that there was a "after-hours" fee in the first place. That's what really gets me.
When I talked to him on the phone he could have said, "Sure, pick it up today. Keep in mind that we are closed today so you will be charged $125 extra". To...
I get that. And I already made it clear that I have no problem paying for the tow. Even when I handed him my card I didn't. It's the fact they charge an extra $125 for "after-hours fees" when they are clearly open during the middle of the day. That is some BULLSHIT.
I live in an apartment in Downtown Seattle. There is a building next door (with a small alley in between) that has been vacant for years. In front of this other building are about 5 parking spaces that people frequently use overnight. To access these parking spaces, you drive into the alley -...
Good deal! I love SiriusXM. I wish I could just buy channels individually though. I listen to Alt Nation 99.9% of the time (unless there is a NFL or baseball game on that I can't get local).
Do you own a shop of your own?
The woman who owns the shop where I got the frames said she could sell me a new pair of frames for half off ($150), and fix the lenses for another $150. If this could be done cheaper I would be thrilled...
I made a thread a while back about how expensive glasses are. This was especially true because I was buying frames and lenses from a small shop that seems to charge a lot.
ATOT recommended that I find somewhere else to get the lenses done. The shop where I got my frames doesn't allow refunds...
Having to unplug the cable from the wall and plug it into the computer is usually enough to make me not do it.
Maybe I'm lazy, but fuck that. Need wireless syncing.
Total bummer. Went on vacation with a bunch of friends (Lake Chelan, WA) for the long weekend. One morning I decide to check my email and notice a bunch of messages from PayPal... 15 transactions... $200 each.
I immediately called PayPal and filed a dispute, but they are slow. I called my...
Thanks for all of the input guys. That really helps. I plan on getting a Vanguard Roth going within the next week or so.
I wish I would have done it 4 years ago when my dad told me too, but better nate than lever I guess ;)
My dad has told me a couple times that I should consider opening up a Roth IRA. I'm 26 and have about 10K in savings right now (all of it in a regular savings account).
Is this the right move for someone my age? Is there any risk involved? Any other thoughts?
