I'm building a PC purely for application and database development (Visual Studio/SQL Server) and I have some questions.
1. Does it make any difference if I have hyperthreading? It's $100 more for the same architecture/clock speed quad-core but with hyperthreading.
2. For these workloads...
New to Android. I intended to pick up a Moto G, but the new one has lower pixel density which I can't accept.
What other midrange phones are out or are coming out within a few months? I would have thought a year after the Moto G was released there would be some competition from the other...
I have a laptop with an SSD (primary) and HDD that I want formatted.
I'm sending a laptop back for repair and I want the disks to be formatted before I do so. It overheats within ~2 minutes of turning on with a ungodly loud system beep and crash.
This isn't enough time to tell if the disks...
I'm looking to buy an Android phone to replace my non-smartphone (i.e. anything would be better). It's easy to compare the expensive flagship phones from each company, but lower down the stack where I'm interested there are so many options.
What I want out of it:

An AMD server CPU roadmap is now showing 20-core 28nm CPUs in 2013. I think this is the first time a half-node has been used for CPUs, and unless GF is developing a high performance...

All in there. Plenty of codenames too - Terramar, Sepang, Krishna, Wichita, Komodo, and Trinity.

All of the performance reviews I've seen use much more recent cards, so I'm not sure (leaning to 'yes'). Obviously it's higher than the minimum requirements, but will it look as good as gameplay videos online? I'm considering buying if so.

Which contains the line I never expected to hear:
"In the end, the GF104/GTX460 is a good card for consumers, it is priced right, and slots into a gaping hole in the AMD lineup."
The main point of the article, though, is...
Here is (probably) every claim made about Fermi or related products made by Charlie in his articles. Post will be updated when reviews come out so we can see his track record. Some details may not actually appear in reviews and some will only emerge when stock does/doesn't become availible, but...
