How much cache does a typical desktop really need?

The idea of using a small (20-40GB) SSD in front of a magnetic disk for file caching is getting a lot of attention lately. That'll run about $100 or so. But for about $150, you can get 16GB of DDR3. Most systems are only going to use about 4-6GB as RAM; the rest will be available for file...

    Best Sales before/after Christmas?

I'm thinking of doing some significant upgrades to my system, (a high end videocard or two, and several SSDs.) Do the best online sales tend to occur right after Christmas, or right before? Or is it anyone's guess? Neither Fry's nor Microcenter are options, as I live in Canada.

    1055T vs 1090T OC

I'm looking at these and wondering what kind of overclocks are people seeing on the 1090T. I've seen reports of 4.0 to 4.1 on 1055T @ ~1.5v, but I haven't seen anything much above that for the 1090T. Does it just cut into the overhead or is there a significant improvement?

    Two PSUs in one box

I currently have Antec Earthwatts 500, and for the record it works great for my needs. However, it doesn't have a lot of PCIe power connectors and someday I'd like to crossfire my 4870. I'm quite sure it's easier to just buy a larger power supply with enough connectors, so this is more of...
