Discussion Ada/'Lovelace'? Next gen Nvidia gaming architecture speculation

Price is a gut punch. I literally felt my stomach sink when I saw them. If AMD follows suit, I don't think I can be an enthusiast anymore. I thought I would be angrier, you know, Nvidia being scumbags is a meme and all but I just feel depressed lol.

Everyone was clowning the 6800 but it really does look damn good vs the 3070 like I said it would. Just goes to prove, I'm smarter than everyone else as expected. Anyway, these look like decent AMD GPUs for once, so I'll probably pick one up, whichever I can find next week, doesn't matter which...

Those results really explain why Nvidia is rumored to be releasing a 3080Ti and 3070Ti. They make the 3070 look downright pathetic. I'll probably do a full build this christmas, going to do the big stupid and go full high end everything then settle for a 6700XT if it lines up in performance...

Pleasantly surprised by SAM. Thought it was another stupid vendor specific feature that wasn't going to be supported, but no it works on every game and is actually a really cool removal of a traditional bottleneck on PCs. It's also interesting that AMD is now more efficient than Nvidia...

    videocardzAMD’s Greenland/Vega 10 GPU to feature 4096 Stream Processors

So stock clock seems to be 1152mhz for the 2300sp part, according to the linux drivers, so theres at least an improvement from that direction. Hopefully it means we can expect 1250-1300mhz aftermarket/common oc.

    videocardzAMD’s Greenland/Vega 10 GPU to feature 4096 Stream Processors

How can you say that with any certainty? Maxwell for example already showed that more performance can be extracted from fewer shaders in practice , compared to kepler (which was poorly balanced as fiji/gcn in general, just in the opposite direction).

AMD being smart about who gets a review sample

Amd is well within their rights here. AMD doesn't owe these nerds anything, all they give they do so with ulterior motives, that should be clear. It shouldn't come as a surprise that if they feel giving to a particular outlet isn't working towards their ends, they stop. In this case they...

[Digital Foundry] Why DX12 is a gamechanger for PC (and AMD!)

AMD did give it away. They gave the spec to Khronos and it became Vulkan. They said they would give it away, and that they wanted it to become an industry standard, and that's what they did. Intel is supporting Vulkan and already has a driver ready. Nvidia also supports it, and has shown a...

Consoles can have more than 2GB dedicated to graphics. Killzone: Shadowfall for example used 3GB just for graphics data. Total possible at the moment is roughly 6GB for the game (CPU + GPU) and it's up to the developer to partition that between the GPU and CPU. In general though most of it...

The difference being that the reason why the Titan X doesn't meet expectations is that it doesn't clock (rather, it can't) as high under normal circumstances. At the same clockspeed, TX scales nearly linearly. All leaks point to the 390X having the same clockspeed as the 290X. And unlike the...

CVR-Zone: AMD new GPUs Antigua, Trinidad, Tobago, whisper Fiji power

Lame. AMD needs Fiji as much as they need something sweet in the ~100-200 dollar spots. If it's Pitcairn all over again, well that's awful. Tonga is fine is it's priced properly, and gets 4GB models (I seriously do not know what they were thinking with 2GB).
