Why is it so hard to find the right keyboard? I found mine finally and LOVE it.

I think I've seen that in video. I just have a rosewill basic mechanical with MXBlues and I love it. But that tempted me to upgrade for all the shiny colors.

    Wired Connection slower than Wireless

Okay, got some more info. I have tried replacing cables, swapping cables to no avail. I spoke with my ISP this morning, we switched to a new modem that I got, we're now using a newer motorola surfboard, and the connection seems to be fixed for the wired computers... except one of them. One of...

    Wired Connection slower than Wireless

I hope I have the right forum for this, apologies if not! I just moved and setup cable at the new place. I'm using the same router I've had (Linksys e2000) and I'm running into a weird speed issue. A computer plugged into the router via ethernet is getting download speed on speedtest of...

How to ruin your school district in 6 easy steps

I half expected this was going to turn into a post about a consultant company running a school district into the ground. Both pleasantly and awfully surprised by the actual result. As others said, looks like it's time to try to find greener pastures.

Just want good Chili, if it has beans cool, if it doesnt thats fine as well. I do tend to prefer no beans in general though.

The Hobbit - 8.0/10 - Watched in HFR 3d but was a bit of a waste, regular 2d would have been fine. Les Mis - 7.5/10 - I liked and didn't like the movie. Confuses me but it felt sometimes the movie sacrificed quality to be musical, and then other times sacrificed musical quality to be a movie...

Let's talk San Francisco and San Diego

I don't get the comment about LA? I'd say SD is pretty spread out too. The limiting factor for travel in both cities isn't distance, it's traffic. A 30 mile drive from one end to the other end isn't bad, it's the 3 hours of traffic you're sitting in that sucks. Like LA, SD has different...

Guy Fieri's new NY restaurant is getting murdered by the critics

I don't know about that. Last time at Angels Stadium the "nachos" were a bag of tostitos chips and a cup of cheese that was semi-hard. Petco Park had an amazing Nacho cart, it's was piled on chili, cheese, and a big plate full of chips, with onions and jalapenos on the side for your pleasure...

    *** Official *** 2012 MLB Season Thread!!

2011 rental of Beltran had little to do with how the Giants would fare in 2012. It was confusing why they didn't even make an offer, but that's how it went. The NL West was definitely SF's to lose, with I believe Arizona being considered the 2nd best team. The Dodgers played exceptionally well...

WTF 8.99 for Saturday Delivery with Amazon Prime

Haven't they always had a charge for overnight that arrives on a saturday? Instead of 3.99 it's like 5.99 or something? I just checked, yea I guess it is 8.99 for overnight shipping for something to arrive on saturday. I'm actually not totally opposed to this assuming they guarantee delivery...

Dumbest thing i've seen at a Five Guys Burger joint

Just went to lunch there, free access to the fountains, no one being gate keeper. Also, their small burger is a decent size. It's not really 'big' or such, I guess for the cost it's not a great value compared to other places maybe? I don't know.

    Official NHL playoffs 2012 thread

Not surprised by the sharks exist, but it really feels like a team with this much paper on talent should at least be able to figure out the penalty kill in some way shape or form. A mediocre penalty kill and one more person other than Jumbo showing up would probably have net them their normal...

[my obligatory bitching about the sharks here] - If they aren't going to bother trying, neither will I, sigh. Injury was a factor during the regular season? It doesn't really matter though, Shanahan starting off strong, but got inconsistent as time went on. Dont' know if he's under pressure...

Wooo Sharks! Not sure how the rest of this series will go. The fine is the max they can charge per the CBA. If they could fine what they felt was appropriate I'm sure it would have been 10,000+ easy. Considering they fine Torts 20K for bitching about the pens. I think Weber should have...

Does a grocery store have the right to refuse out of state IDs for alcohol purchases?

It has been an oddly pleasant diversion, I say we encourage him further. I was writing a reply before realizing the OP probably figured out how to deal with this months ago. My best thought would be in SLO - go somewhere else. In Pomona- It's even easier.

$100/month Teacher's Birthday Club at school?

Is this literally just a "forced" savings account? It seems odd to me since it's just a savings account and all the money in comes out as a gift. If some was held to have a party or something that might make some sense? Not sure what the benefit of this is.

Probably better they didn't, rumored trade minimum was a first round pick, high level prospect, and a current roster player (and supposedly not a banger, someone with 2 line potential). That's a hell of a price to pay for a team in the hunt right now. Sharks added some bottom line depth...

Why don't all consumer electronic devices come sealed in their packaging?

I think the point is that when the box itself is sealed, you can tell if it's ever been opened. I'm guessing with laptops/cameras there are some other ways to tell as opposed to smaller electronics. Laptops/cameras are also probably considered more "durable" than small electronics so them being...
