Does Google actually have a strategy with Motorola and Nexus?

Nexus is probably going to become even more developer focused. What that means, I'm not sure. Moto is branded phone done right. Low prices, minimal changes, quick updates.

    KitKat 4.4

Who has it? Nexus devices (N4/N5/N7/N7) and Moto X. Does it help with battery life? Compared to what? My Nexus came with 4.4.

    Reversible USB connector in progress

This My N4 got plugged in, um, twice. When my Qi pad was charging the N7 and I wanted to top up. My N5 hasn't been plugged in at all yet. Nor has that N7.

How difficult to rollback from 4.4 and how would I go about it ?

System image is available from google, just load the 4.3 version. But you will have the notification for the update quite quickly and it doesn't go away.

Besides the LG G2, what would you get?

Note 3 for phablet, otherwise either Nexus 5 or Moto X (Or Maxx on Verizon). Maybe a One if you wanted the speakers. Wouldn't touch a G2 or S4.

I'm $1.68 richer (in play credit). If I keep going maybe I'll make a profit off my next Nexus upgrade cycle! Getting paid to answer a few questions while I sit on the crapper ain't so bad.

As far as I know most centralized major warehouses are in Louisville because that is the central UPS hub. You get secondary facilities or smaller facilities in other areas (Sparks, NV, is the closest one to me), but almost all UPS shipping in the US starts at or goes through Louisville...

If they had delayed the announcement any longer to add inventory for the launch they would have been lynched. As to the shipping order, there may be warehouse location or specific SKU reasons behind some people getting theirs first. There may not be. Im just speculating. (Also mine arrives...

Tracking number hasn't gone into UPS' system yet. Last year with the N4 my phone arrived the following morning. Be interesting to see if this one does too (and I don't want to wait over the weekend!)

Google depreciating open source in Android

I have no issue with this. If you want to publicly brand your device as android/play-store-compatible, you do things Google's way. AOSP is great for non-phone devices. Want to build an AOSP dishwasher? No problem. You don't want/need compatibility with play store stuff. But if you want a phone...

Aye. My N4 is using LTE now with T-Mo, but getting official multi-carrier support would be nice. snapdragon 800, voice commands, LTE, better battery life. The N5 is a decent upgrade. I hesitate to call anything a game-changing upgrade at this point.

I wouldn't move away from wireless charging. Love it on my N4 and N7. Qi seems to be the standard, and nothing else is gonna replace it for a while. Announced on the 15th, wonder when it will ship. Knowing Google <1 week I expect. Sounds good. Cash is waiting.

Not quite. It can be compatible without the carrier offering it for sale/subsidy. But if the carrier is offering it for sale/subsidy it will definitely be compatible. You can have A without B, or A and B, but never B on its own.

Battery life should a good bit better between the snapdragon 800 improvements and panel self refresh. Official (and not just T-Mo) LTE will be nice. I expect official or 3rd party active notifications (cant remember the actual name right now) with the AMOLED screen. I suspect we'll see the...

Unlikely to be subsidized. T-Mo will probably carry it at a higher price than Google will sell it direct. Sprint may carry it on a contract at $200. The G2's software stack looks to be fucking horrible and app-breaking so don't do that.

How to print from my Nexus 7???

AirPrint is one apple standard I wish google would integrate into Android. Most printer manufacturers have an app. Open app, select what you want to print, hit print. Not quite as simple as airplay, but it does work. Cloud Print is the alternative option.
