Good day!
Let me explain what I need.
I have a folder, with about 30 subfolders, each of which contains hundreds of files.
What I want is to have a way (using either static HTML or PHP, I don't care as long as it's automated) to create a catalog of these files, with a download link.
I...
Hi guys,
For my lab, I need to be able to nest virtual machines. That is, run several virtual machines inside one virtual machine.
If I install Windows 8 and then VMWare 9, I believe I won't be able to assign properly the resources to the nested virtual machines, that would run all under...
Hi all,
I have a problem, a client had a setup with another mailserver (Mdaemon), that allowed him to do that.
Anyone knows how to do the same in Exchange? I thought about distribution lists, but I don't think it will work to have a dist. list called joe@example.com, with the members joe...
OK, so I've been using this oldie PC for 5 years now, with XP.
I decided to try Ubuntu on it, didn't serve my purpose, so I went to install XP SP3.
After eliminating the partitions and formating a big one, the installation copied files and showed the usual "will reboot in 10 secs".
It does...
Hi all,
I'm in a pretty messed-up situation, hope you can give me a hand.
I deleted by accident a folder containing a VMware server virtual machine, that contains most critical information. The host OS is CentOS 5.5, which I believe by default uses Ext3.
I shut down the PC intermediately...

I was asked this on a test for the CEH. What would you answer? My own answer is at the bottom.
What defensive measures will you take to protect your network from password brute-force attacks? (Choose all that apply.)
A) Never leave a default password.
B) Never use a password that can be...
Hi guys,
Could someone post a thorough list of materials to study, to successfully pass this test?
All I can find is for the old version, it seems. It doesn't have all the new info for the new exam.
Hi guys, I need to set up load balancing for an implementation. We have 2 WAN links, one 10 MBs, the other 2.
Can anyone link to a site where I can find information on how to implement a Dual WAN failover configuration?
CISCO AIR-AP1242AG: how to WLAN Hi all, thanks for taking the time to look at this question.
I need to install this model of AP on a network. Actually, 6 of them. The problem is that I need to provide service for 2 types of users: one of them, needs to access only to the Internet. The other...
Hi guys, I need that, let me show you, it will be easier to undertand.
A 1
A 2
A 3 6
B 2
B 5 7
C 1
C 1
C 5
C 3 10
So, basically, I have A LOT of different names in the columns with the letters.
I need Excel to look at column A and sum the values...
Hi guys,
I need to measure the signal rate in different parts of a building. I know that it can be done with SBSettings, but I don't want to jailbreak my phone.
Can this configuration (getting the signal strength in numbers instead of the lines) be done without jailbreaking?
Hi guys.
I have a Dell bluetooth stereo headset with mic incorporated.
I want to use this to have conversations with my iPod touch, using voip software.
Can this be done? I'm asking because when I pair the headset with my iPod, the new voice notes app says I don't have any mic.
In case...
Hi guys, I have the model stated in the subject.
I had the 2.x firmware. I restored to factory defaults.
After that, it hanged again.
Later, I updated to firmware 3.0.
And it just hanged a few minutes ago.
I never had an ipod before. But this is NOT normal behaviour right?
With "hanged"...
Good morning guys.
I can't update the NOD 32 AV definitions at my company.
The problem is that, even though the proxy is configured properly at the Nod32 propierties, NOD send the request without being authenticated.
You can see it here at this logs:
192.168.1.5 8080 http Denied...
Good morning guys!
We have this problem at work; we connect to a Citrix Metaframe Presentation Server which servers the Terminal Services application.
When we click on it, it opens a .ICA file and trys to establish a connection to the remote server.
With ISA server in the middle, it fails...
The question is which soft is good for this.
GFI Webmonitor looks good on the outside, but the reports it generates do not include the most important for me: which sites a given user of Active Directory visits on a given day (much better if it includes the time they visited them).
We are trying to setup this configuration and we've encountered with some problems.
I'm trying with a SQL 2005 server we are running for other purposes. The database was named GFI_WM and I didn't create the tables; I didn't find any info on how to create them. Are they created automatically...
Good morning guys.
We are having a weird problem in our network.
It's a Windows domain, running on 2 Windows 2003 domain servers. We have around 10 other servers, including an ISA server, all part of the domain.
The weird problem is that the VPN we have established with an ISA 2004 server...
I'm always doing the weirdest configurations :D
The point here is that I need to run a service which uses a very high ammount of traffic (in WAN terms, the LAN wouldn't be affected since it's 2 MBs/sec top).
So instead of having 2 boxes, I want certain services to go out through the...
Good morning guys.
This is the second day that we encounter this beauty; the backup server performs an online backup of Exchange (remotely, they are 2 different PCs) and between 2 and 5 minutes later, Microsoft Exchange Information Store (store.exe) crashes.
The events went like this...
Good afternoon.
We need to implement VLANs on my company's network. We are going to buy a new Cisco router and would like to create VLANs.
Our topology includes a central switch, that we need to change, since it's a cheap & old model, that links with other 4 switches (model 3com baseline...
I'm looking for exactly that. I have some accounts that I created on gmail and need to check them frequently... and it's a waste of time to check 5 account every day.
I can't use POP3 because it doesn't download the contents of the spam folder and I need to check that too.
So basically, I...
Hi there.
I'm doing a restore right now of a tape backup I made last week... just for verification.
And found that on some of the folders that contain the Databases of VSS (Visual Source Safe), there are red exclamation points (please take a look here...
Hi guys. I want to restore an Exchange server's backup I made directly to disk using NTbackup.
I didn't do a system state backup, so I don't have the AD users in the fresh Windows 2003 installation.
Excuse my ignorance, but if I restore Exchange's backup, will it work? I mean, will I recover...
Hello people. Whenever my server runs the scheduled backup, I get an error saying "The requested media failed to mount. The operation was aborted".
The problem is that it probably asks for the second tape at 3 AM when nobody is watching and fails after a certain time.
How can I make it...
Hi guys, I have a simple question:
NTbackup generates a "catalog" on restore & manage media about all the tape drives I backup up.
Let's say I get that server with the tape drive stole.
Can I just insert a tape & restore or it needs a "catalog file" that should be backed up outside the...
Hello guys.
We have a Win2003 with ISA 2004, Exchange, etc and it works as a proxy server.
But since the router is configured as the default gateway, if people decide to disable the use of the proxy server in Internet Explorer, we lose the ability to shape & monitor traffic the way we...
Hello guys, I got a question. I never installed under an IBM server, only HPs and clones...
This server in particular (an xSeries 206m) has a freshly created RAID with 2 160 GB SATA disks.
I booted with the ServerGuide CD and I'm clearing the drives now ith ServeRAID manager.

Hi guys. Hope you can help with this cause I'm very lost at the moment.
The problem I'm experiencing is that I cannot enter this site:
http://www.mercadolibre.com.ar/jm/myML
It's an Ebay type of site... there, you login into your account.
The error I get is this:

Hi guys... I need to find a soft that sends a program's traffic through a list of
different proxies.
That is, connection A goes with proxy 1, connection B, with proxy 844
There are several softwares like this (proxifier for example) but I don't know anyone
which supports a list of...
The topic is pretty self explanatory. My first project is to build a reliable SMTP server.
I know ZERO (0) about programming... my first thought was Visual basic... but that is dying, plus it's too visual and I'm way too cool for that :D
No, seriously, it looks uterly unpowerfull.
Then I...
We have a problem with several files in a folder.
Sometimes when opening certain files I get the following error (translated by me from spanish so the error might sound a little weird ;) ) : "The file 'file.xls' is reserved by . Type the write access password or open it as read only". And I...
Hi guys.
We used to have a quite old Active Directory server with windows 2000.
So we bought a new PC, installed 2003, did the upgrading of the domain in the 2000 server, then we promoted the 2003 server to AD controller and made it a global catalog.
But for some reason (obviously we...
I've been researching about this and found people claiming that PD could cause this kind of problems, such as destroyed file tables, disk sectors (logically of course) and they ended up needing to recreate the array and then reformatting.
But some people answered saying that Perfect Disk uses...
Hey guys, I screwed it for some reason... I installed Style XP on top of this Windows version and since I couldn't run it, I uninstalled it.
And for some weird reason, I don't see any icons!! It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen!
Where Recycle bin, My PC, even control panel, disk icons...
At my company we want to give certain people (users in our Windows 2003 Active Directory) limited access to the Internet. That is, block all ports except 80 (web) and only provide access to a list of aproved sites, while other users should have irrestricted access.
Also, since the company has...
I'm doing a project for a hotel that is going to be constructed in the near future.
Since it's going to be a VERY expensive hotel (around 500-800 US dollars a night and I live in Argentina, so it's virtually unnafordable for everyone here... it's target are rich tourists) I need to make the...
